[edit]Hi Rbpolsen, I wonder with what tool you created the font specimen, looks great! Thanks for your help.

"Do you work for Maxis?"
[edit]No, this is just a name I've had since pre-2000 when I was a bigger fan of Maxis's that I use for a lot of things now.

Speedy deletion of Chico Bicalho
[edit]A tag has been placed on Chico Bicalho requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Pictures
[edit]I'm going to edit the texts of some of your pictures a bit, have a look please. Nice work with the pictures. :) Could you look at the Shinto star colors, if it had a little more separate shade between the picture and the star the picture would stand out, on my screen I can't tell the difference now. If you take elements from other pictures, could you mention them on the image page text, especially if you use some picture which has another licence than PD then its author should be mentioned. Best regards Rhanyeia♥♫ 16:09, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for answering. That was fast uploading a new Shinto star. :) On my screen it looks good. Do you want to keep the text "no external permission unless otherwise granted" on your images, when I started to edit the texts I thought that some of them might have been confusing because there's already the license which gives quite wide permission, but because that text says "unless otherwise granted" and the license is there, the text would be ok. (I find it easier to follow a discussion if it's all in one place, so maybe if you answer can you do it here please? :) Best regards Rhanyeia♥♫ 16:40, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Flower banner.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Flower banner.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Help With Barnstars
[edit]Do You think you could help me with some barnstars? I edit mostly in the areas of charities, human trafficking and human rights, but I cant see anything on wikipedia to reward people who have contributed in these areas. Thought it might be a good idea to make some barnstars as there a few people who deserve recognition for their efforts on these areas. Hope you dont mind, kind regardsSusanbryce (talk) 20:48, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, I dont have any source images. I was thinking Id like something that included rainbows with lots of bright colours covering like a hand from above reaching out and helping a childs hand from below. Is that possible please? Kind RegardsSusanbryce (talk) 18:58, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks so much, I really love the charity barnstar. I want to award it to people who add quality articles on different charities to wikipedia. ok, but how do i add the barnstar and text to make a simple piece of code? sorry, im not too bright on all this. I want to add the following text " use.... I award you this Charity barnstar for your quality article on .... charity". And can we add this award to the wikipedia award section so others may use it too? Kind RegardsSusanbryce (talk) 17:26, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
No, I dont have anyone to award it to yet, but I will soon I hope. I have spent the last 20 yers of my life involved in charity and human rights work so I look forward to giving this award to editors on Wikipedia who contribute signigicant Edits in these areas. Do you mind if i be a nuisance now and also ask you to do one more barnstar for Human Rights? Promise this will be the last. I was thinking of a dove and a knights shield in front of a star, do you mind? Much appreciated for all your help, kind regardsSusanbryce (talk) 18:39, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]OK. I took a tag without sighting you. Sorry. To make it up to you, you can have one of mine. Here is the code: {{ambox | type = notice | image = [[Image:Face-devil-grin.svg|50px]] | text = '''WARNING! The author of this article has been informed that Satan may be hiding somewhere in this article!'''<br/><small>If you see him, be a good Wikipedian, and throw apples at him.</small> }}
The end result is this:
WARNING! The author of this article has been informed that Satan may be hiding somewhere in this article! If you see him, be a good Wikipedian, and throw apples at him. |
I looked at the code from your tag and figured out how to make my own. So keep your eye out for more dumb tags! -- 224jeff6 TALK2ME 22:27, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Image source problem with Image:Wikipediapong.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Wikipediapong.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:35, 25 June 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rbpolsen♦☺♦ Talk to me! 01:35, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Rbandtrail.PNG)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Rbandtrail.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Replaceable fair use Image:Waterworld co flatline.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Waterworld co flatline.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 72.88.75.41 (talk) 04:17, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Al Gore POV
[edit]Do you have some comments to add on Talk: Al Gore to direct attention to what you believe are possible issues? Thanks.Proofreader77 (talk) 05:21, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- Follow-up: Please see this subtopic on Talk:Al Gore Proofreader77 (talk) 01:37, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
Reply: Thanks for gracious reply to my nudge. As a general rule, a comment should be added on the talk page when adding the tag, otherwise it can be removed. (As you see I made an arbitrary 1-week cutoff, but some people are more touchy about such tags and will remove if not supported with something on the talk page.) Cheers. Proofreader77 (talk) 02:20, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
Pending removal of POV tag
[edit]FYI: It is approaching a month without supporting suggestions on the talk page regarding the basis of your placing the POV-check tag. Without support, the tag will be removed in a day or so. If you're offline mostly during this period of the holidays, and miss this note, know that you may add the tag back — but if you do, please promptly add comments on the talk page regarding the basis. In case, happy holidays. Proofreader77 (talk) 19:15, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Wrong Times Roman sample
[edit]Hello, in 2009 you added to wikimedia commons a sample of "Times Roman", but the sample is written using "Times New Roman". These two typefaces are slightly different in some details and it is misleading to add "Times Roman" title to "Times New Roman" sample. You also added this image to Times Roman article. I will replace the image in Times New Roman article with the previous PNG image that was correct.--89.173.65.92 (talk) 12:13, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
