Seeking adoption?
Are you still seeking adoption? because it seems you're rather comfortable with wiki? Just thought I would ask, as I've been doing housekeeping of the Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user category. xenocidic (talk) 18:42, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- I am comfortable with the Wikipedia; I am not comfortable with all of the guidelines and policies on this Wikipedia. Very big wikipedia with a lot of rules that are unknown to me. That is why I am seeking adoption. Cheers, Razorflame 18:44, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- If you're still looking to be adopted, I'll do it. I'm a really active admin who can hopefully answer any questions you may have. Let me know. Useight (talk) 20:12, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, that would be good :) Cheers, Razorflame 14:08, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Re: your question
It doesn't really matter who changes it, I just wanted to take you out of the "seeking adoption" cat. So you can go ahead and change it to "adopted" if you like, or I'm sure Useight will once he's back online. xenocidic (talk) 16:38, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, looks like it's official now. I have an adoptee. If you ever have any questions or need anything, let me know. Useight (talk) 19:50, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- Cheers. Most of the questions that I ask you will be either administration based or policy based. Cheers, Razorflame 19:51, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
It's pretty good. It's very well referenced, it's neutral, and it uses an encyclopedic voice. I would recommend, though, breaking it into two paragraphs, keeping related content together. As one paragraph, it's kind of long and looks like a wall of text. Useight (talk) 20:19, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- I have done as you suggested. It looks better when it is seperated into two paragraphs. I'm going to go hunt for more information in a bit. Cheers, Razorflame 20:21, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Adminship
Here's a list of some policies you'll want to know, all from Wikipedia:Administrators' reading list
- Wikipedia:Blocking policy
- Wikipedia:Banning policy
- Wikipedia:Deletion policy
- Wikipedia:Dealing with vandalism
- Wikipedia:Wheel war
On a more personal note, I'd also point you towards User:Useight/Helps, a page I created which links to a whole bunch of policies, and other things I found helpful when starting out. And yes, it's an original creation, so if you think it's good, I get all the credit, and if you think it's pointless and ugly, then it's my fault. Useight (talk) 21:37, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- Most definitely participate in AFD. Especially if you want to speedy delete articles as an admin. Your comments there will indicate your knowledge and understanding of the deletion policy, so make your comments there substantial. Don't say things like, "Per nom" or "Duh". Provide a rationale and, if possible, back it up with a link to a policy. Useight (talk) 01:45, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- You'd probably want to say something like, "I agree with User X, the article fails WP:Notability (films)." You can bring up the same kind of point that someone else has already stated, just don't write two or three words like, "Yeah, I agree." Try to add some value to the discussion. P.S. - Don't always rely on Google hits, either, RFA !voters don't like that. Useight (talk) 01:52, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well, that was sly, slipping from adoptee to admin coachee. But okay, I'll bite. I can coach you, but at this point, you still have some work to do before I'd be willing to nominate you at RFA. Useight (talk) 01:56, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- User:Razorflame/Admin Coaching my replies will be there from now on. Cheers, Razorflame 01:59, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Your userpage and WikiProjects
I like the style of your userpage, but it's a little too green, I think. Perhaps tone the color down a little bit. As for WikiProjects, give me a couple minutes and I'll take a look. Useight (talk) 18:06, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Could you tone down the green bit for me please? I am not very good with hex code. Thanks, Razorflame 18:07, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Subpage deletion
It looks like someone beat me to deleting those two subpages. Useight (talk) 18:08, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks anyways for trying to help. Cheers, Razorflame 18:08, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
WikiProjects
Here's some you might like:
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Geology
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Rocks and minerals
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga - there's also more specific one's if you'd like
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Go
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Board and table games
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Physics
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Geography
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Romania
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Switzerland
- Hmm, Wikiprojects about grammar and spelling. I found Wikipedia:WikiProject Fix common mistakes, Wikipedia:WikiProject Wikify, Wikipedia:WikiProject Grammar, Wikipedia:WikiProject League of Copyeditors, Wikipedia:WikiProject Punctuation, and Wikipedia:Typo. Perhaps a couple of those are what you're looking for. Useight (talk) 18:51, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Archival Bot
You know, I have no idea about that. Perhaps you can find someone's talk page that is auto-archived and ask them. If I find anything, I'll let you know. Useight (talk) 19:02, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks
Hey, thanks for the tips. By the way, Useight and I want to know why you signed your page twice. Thanks. Leeboyge (talk) 19:16, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Most likely I made a mistake. I didn't know that the template automatically added your signature to the end of it. Now I do. Cheers, Razorflame 19:19, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

- I've never used the program before, so I am bound to make some mistakes. I will try to make sure that I don't make any mistakes, but I am pretty sure that I should be able to run this program. It might take me a bit to learn how to use it though. Thanks for the approval, cheers, Razorflame 21:04, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- AWB will show you the changes it's about to make before it commits them. If you need any help using AWB, just let me know. xenocidic (talk) 21:21, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- As far as settings, it all depends on what you're looking to do. If it's just general cleanups and spelling fixes, then there's appropriate settings for that under Options. It's pretty easy to figure out. If you have it make a list of articles in C:Switzerland, then it will also get articles in Lists of municipalities of Switzerland but I'm not sure if it will pickup the Municipalities in that list. You'd have to make a list "Links on page"... Cheers, xenocidic (talk) 23:06, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

User Page update
Took care of that - thanks for the reminder. I can't seem to get any of the edit counters to agree on an exact # - some count deleted contribs, some don't; generally they just seem to stop completely or give bizarre #s! SkierRMH (talk) 01:56, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Not a problem. Just wanted to let you know about the possibility of an incorrect statistic. Cheers, Razorflame 01:57, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Rollback
I honestly don't know if you can nominate someone, or if they have to nominate themselves. You probably want to read WP:ROLLBACK (heck, I probably need to read it as well just for future reference). Any particular reason why you think I deserve to have this permission? I mean, I'm flattered that you would nominate me (if you can nominate someone). BIGNOLE (Contact me) 01:58, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- I was thinking of nominating you because of how good you've done with reverting vandalism. I just thought that you might like the rollback tool so that you could revert vandalism easier. Cheers, Razorflame 02:00, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not entirely familiar with how it operates, but I think that if it made it easier then I would be up for it. This is something, I assume, only used for pure vandalism, and not good faith edits. I'm not sure (reading the page) if you can nominate, or if I have to request it. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 02:03, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, the main thing is that you need to use the rollback for reverting only pure vandalism. Guess what? Let's find out by me just nominating you. Cheers, Razorflame 02:04, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Ok. BTW, I saved your talk page, in case you prefer to keep the communication here instead of going back and forth. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 02:04, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, that did answer some questions. Cheers, Razorflame 03:40, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well, since you felt I could handle the responsibilities I went ahead and reqested permission, which was subsequently granted. Thanks for the vote of confidence. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 04:09, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Another excellent article. The only thing I can think of to improve it is that the term "anandite" might need to be lowercase when used in the middle of a sentence. But I'm not sure. Useight (talk) 04:22, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the vote of confidence. I just got done with a massive load of vandalism reverting (must've been over 300 edits). Cheers, Razorflame 04:24, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- P.S. - I notice you changed your sig to kind of match your userpage. Nice. Useight (talk) 04:24, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hello Razorflame, it's the first time that I've been talking to you on English Wikipedia, rather than there! Great work on Anandite, but would it be possible for you to use the {{cite web}} method of referencing, as it greatly increases readability and gets rid of very long external links? Regards, EJF (talk) 12:44, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- P.S. - I notice you changed your sig to kind of match your userpage. Nice. Useight (talk) 04:24, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Stop reverting please
Stop reverting. The one who make changes in User:KyleRGiggs/Sandbox is me. The reason I use a IP is due to loss of my account, or should say the account has been hijacked. I have reported the problem to Deryck Chan, an administrator and he reported it to a bureaucrat Taxman. If you keeps reverting, I think I would write down the editor's name at the summary. Thanks. Raymond Giggs 08:13, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Nevermind. I am using a new account when the problem of the account has not been solved. Cheers. Raymond Giggs 01:42, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Huggle
You'll have to wait for User:Gurch to e-mail you back with an attachment. You'll have to unzip it and run the executable. You will also need Microsoft Framework 2.0, I believe it is. Sometimes he takes awhile to e-mail. Useight (talk) 22:27, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

AWB
Sorry, I have no experience with AWB, I only use Huggle, and I just started using that. However, perhaps this user manual will help. Or perhaps find someone who uses it to ask a specific question. Useight (talk) 22:34, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Re: Huggle
I'm afraid having .NET 2.0 FW installed is a requirement, not an option. Huggle will refuse to run unless you have it installed. What operating system are you using? AVandtalkcontribs 19:19, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- As far as I know, if you have other (earlier) versions of .NET 2.0 (beta 1 or 2) framework, you must uninstall those before attempting to install 2.0. Also, your windows XP must be fully patched. However, you might want to ask the same question on Huggle's talk page or Computer reference desk, they might be able to help you further ;-) Cheers. AVandtalkcontribs 19:33, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- You're saved :-) AVandtalkcontribs 19:36, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- I just reinstalled .NET 2.0 to refresh my memory :-)
Heres the installation process step-by-step:
- Extraction (msi extensions)
- Installation guide (with a Next -> button)
- Accepting the license agreement
- Configuration
- Installing components (at some point it says registering the product, so maybe here it accesses the internet)
- Done Hope that helps :-)

- Congratulations from here :-) Did you find out what the problem was? AVandtalkcontribs 20:47, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Nah, there was no problem. I just wasn't installing the correct version. I'm off to try out AWB to see how good it works. Cheers, Razorflame 20:53, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- I see someone already answered before me, but basically yes, you get it by emailing Gurch. I got a reply with huggle attached the same day I sent the email, so I guess it's just a matter of time if you have already emailed him :-) Cheers, AVandtalkcontribs 11:18, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Rollback
I was having a hard time distinguishing when you were using rollback and when you were just using undo. But, I believe rollback should only be used when reverting multiple edits at once that are blatant vandalism. Useight (talk) 21:11, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- No, with my previous statement I was not condemning nor condoning your rollback work, just commenting on under what circumstances rollback is supposed to be used. As with your AWB question, I lack experience in the area and will have to plead the fifth. Useight (talk) 20:20, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Actually, users are allowed to blank their talk pages. It's considered an acknowledgement that they have read them, and isn't generally worth edit-warring over. In any case, I blocked this one for the disruptive edits. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 15:44, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Rfb participation thanks
Hello, Mike.
I wanted to personally thank you for taking part in the project-wide discussions regarding my candidacy for bureaucratship. After bureaucratic discussion, the bureaucrats decided that there was sufficient significant and varied opposition to my candidacy, and thus no consensus to promote. Although personally disappointed, I both understand and respect their decision, especially in light of historical conservatism the project has had when selecting its bureaucrats. I wanted to especially thank you for your detailed support rationale; I truly appreciate your kind words. If you have any further suggestions or comments as to how you think I could help the project, please let me know. Once again, thank you for your support. -- Avi (talk) 17:57, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Quadruple
You reverted my edit to The Quadruple and called it vandalism, which it wasn't. I explained the reasons for my edit in the summary, if you only have 3 trophies at a time then it certainly isn't a Quadruple, the only possible way you could get an International Quadruple would involve the Olympics. - 88.107.127.107 (talk) 18:19, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Re: Huggle
Hey, Razorflame :) Yes, I do think that huggle is a wonderful tool myself. The only problem with it is that sometimes you can unwillingly make false positives due to the nature of huggle's reverting process. Also, huggle misses some fast-access templates (like uw-joke and uw-delete). Elsewhat, huggle is much better and much faster to reverting than twinkle. Cheers, AVandtalkcontribs 19:28, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
WP:HAU and Huggle
Excellent, we can always use more people at HAU. As for Huggle, I just recently began using it myself (I figured since I had topped 10,000 manual edits, I could try a script). Just be careful while using it, don't get too trigger happy and revert without thinking or mistakes will me made. I've more than once had to undo my reversion after taking another moment and thinking about it. And mistakes using Huggle will ding you at RFA just like a regular mistake would, so be sure to use it carefully. And don't let it dominate your edits completely. If you go into RFA and your last 1000 edits were all via Huggle, people won't like that. Useight (talk) 20:34, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I just noticed that a minute ago, when I saw you beat me to a revert. I'm going to be posting some questions on your admin coaching page in a few minutes, just a heads up. Useight (talk) 02:04, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- What kinds of questions? Cheers, Razorflame Report false positives 02:05, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- They're just a couple questions that people may ask you at an RFA; it's good to practice answering questions that often come up at RFA so you aren't answering them for the first time during the actual RFA. Useight (talk) 03:32, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Reverting page blanking
I notice you reverted the blanking William Vendice several times this morning. Those reverts restored material which was a copyvio, and the author of the page was the person who blanked it. Please check the history of pages before reverting them, and if a page is blanked by its only or main contributor, add {{db-g7}} instead of reverting it back. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 09:41, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
:I shall make sure to do so in the future! Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I should have it fixed momentarily, unless it was already fixed. Cheers, Razorflame Report false positives 19:30, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
My RfA
Hi Razorflame; I wanted to say thank you for supporting my request for adminship, which passed with 100 supports, 0 opposes and 1 neutral. I wanted to get round everybody individually, even though it's considered by some to be spam (which... I suppose it is! but anyway. :)). It means a lot to me that the community has placed its trust in my ability to use the extra buttons, and I only hope I can live up to its expectations. If you need anything, or notice something that bothers you, don't hesitate to let me know. Thanks again, PeterSymonds | talk 21:44, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi Mike,
I just added an edit on a subject I know some detail on and after saving, all the references at the bottom of the page have become incorrectly unsyncronized / visible ? I wonder if you could kindly look at this for me and tell me where I went wrong ?

Answer
This is an answer to your contribution on my talk page. I think it's too complicated to sign up here at the English Wikipedia. When I tries to enter the username I want, the computer says "No! This username is too like an already existing user". I can try with everything, but I won't take care of it. I'm not up to continue trying sign up, but I want to. 217.208.135.27 (talk) 18:30, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

- Sorry, but it is too long for me to copyedit; I can only copyedit in short bursts because I find copyediting extremely hard, but I still like doing the occasional fix here and there. Thanks for the request, but please understand that I just don't have the focus needed to copyedit the whole article at this time. Thanks, Razorflame Report false positives 22:48, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Re: Support
Thanks ever so much for your support! I haven't replied personally to each (far from it), but I really liked that one. I too like to think I have a good sense of humour (though I suppose we all do!); it's hard to make it come across in black and white text alone though, or make it universally appealing, I know from experience! Thanks though, that was a great support and (looking at the basic principles of probability in my RFA tally!) I won't let you, or any of the other commentators down. :) --Jza84 | Talk 01:00, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Re: How?
Hi! The reason that I am creating stubs very fast is that I copy and paste almost everything when I create a new article. I also have a tab open to the JPL's asteroid database that I use to get information on the specific asteroid that I am writing about. I just have a system for creating asteroid stubs, so I am able to do it fairly quickly. Captain panda 22:11, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- You'll be glad to know that I've been trying (and working through the list) to assess the stubs that you've been creating, and I have been doing very well (about 120ish so far). Cheers, Razorflame Report false positives 22:13, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for doing this! That was one of the things that I knew that would need to get done with those articles at some point. Captain panda 22:20, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Well, pretty much everything you need to know about DYK can be found at Wikipedia:Did you know, and a list of the Good Articles can be found at Wikipedia:Good articles. Vandalism?
Hi. :) I've deleted the talk page Talk:Waheed shams by criterion WP:CSD#G8, as a talk page the corresponding page of which does not exist. I was just curious to know if there was a reason why you tagged it for WP:CSD#G3. I can't read the language (Bengali, I think?), so I'm not sure what it says. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:25, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- I tagged it as vandalism because that was what I thought it to be. I didn't look to see if it was a page that didn't exist. Sorry for that! Cheers, Razorflame 16:25, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, okay. I wasn't sure if the text said something that it shouldn't say. :) As I said, I don't read Bengali. Generally, we wouldn't tag something as vandalism unless we're confident it was done in bad faith, since that one could have been a well-intentioned but confused contributor who didn't know where to put his or her comment or question (whichever it might have been). Anyway, one of my reasons for asking was to know if I should leave the IP editor who made the comment a {{uw-english}}. Unless I've misunderstood you here, it seems the comment may not necessarily have been vandalism, so I'm going to go ahead and do that. Do let me know, please, if I've misunderstood you and the note said "WiMAX sucks!" or something otherwise unconstructive. :D --Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:20, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Your RfA vote
I just wanted to comment on the !vote you made here. Two things you should note: it's usually not seen as a problem if an admin candidate isn't doing much vandal work. There are so many different things to help out with on the project, and quite frankly, there are tons and tons of vandal fighters, and 99.9% of their work doesn't need tools. Second, you state "If you don't combat vandalism, then there is no need for the protection tool or the block tool.", this isn't quite accurate. There are many reasons to block that have nothing to do with vandalism, i.e. gross incivility. There are many reasons to protect that have nothing to do with vandalism, i.e. "good faith" edit warring. You might want to check up on WP:BLOCK and WP:PROTECT on your own, or discuss further with your admin coach. These are very important policies to understand if you want to be an admin. Also, you an of course ask me any questions you have on this. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 15:58, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- I do understand those policies. Maybe I should've said this instead: You still have a use for the protection and block tools, its just that their use would be drastically reduced. Cheers, Razorflame 15:27, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- I see what you are saying, but he doesn't state anywhere in the RfA that he won't help out with protecting vandalized pages or blocking for vandalism. I just didn't understand where you got that. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 15:43, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry. I guess that maybe my RfA requirements are starting to bleed over from the Simple English Wikipedia. That is one of the requirements that I have for people wanting to gain administratorship over on the Simple English Wikipedia. I will not hold people accountable for that here though, although I still think that it should be a requirement here too. Cheers, Razorflame 16:14, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- OK. That's fair. If you have vandal fighting as a req for adminship, that's fine. Remember, though, that no admin would have blocked or protected prior to becoming an admin, because they physically couldn't have. If I become an admin someday in the future, I imagine I will protect vandalized pages often, also block for vandalism where need. However, I don't spend much time reporting vandals or doing RC patrol, and probably never will. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 16:52, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- I understand that no administrator could have even possibly blocked or protected before becoming an administrator. When I say, has no need for the tools, that is because I could see no possible way for them to have any use for the tools after they become an administrator. Cheers, Razorflame 19:38, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
Copy editing
Hmm, I'm not sure where the place is to announce that you will copy edit on-demand, but while I try to find a place, here's a list of articles that need copy-editing: Category:All articles needing copy edit. There's plenty of articles there that need to be cleaned up. Useight (talk) 16:24, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- I see you already added the League of Copy Editors userbox to your userpage, that's what I was going to suggest next. Useight (talk) 16:28, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- It does seem that the League of Copy Editors is kind of defunct. Perhaps you could get involved in the creation of a new WikiProject or Task Force, such as this one or perhaps start a different one there on that proposals page. I started Wikipedia:Highly Active Users and WikiProject Bowling, so maybe you can get that project I mentioned above going or perhaps start one that has something more to do with taking cleanup requests on-demand. Hello. I just came here to guess where you came up of your user name since others think it's a good name. I heard you used to like Pokemon. I used to like pokemon also. Well, if I remember, balbasoar uses a move called "razorleaf". You said that you like Charizard or said something like that. You chose "razorflame" as it's nickname, right? Well, I'm guessing you got "razorflame" (flame being charizard as a fire type) from "razorleaf. Am I right? --RyRy5 (talk) 00:09, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- No, I was actually thinking of the claws as the Razor part of the flame that it breathes as the fire part, but I thought that fire sounded stupid at that time (Razorfire)...so I went with flame, which to me, sounded cooler. Cheers, Razorflame 00:20, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

- There is no such name Zolomon. In Russian sources his name is Zalman (actually, without any Yeshua) and his patronimic is Mikhailovich, not Moishevich.--24.185.132.44 (talk) 01:10, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

I can't believe how fast you are at reverting vandalism. You've beaten me so many times tonight I can't even think about it without crying. ;) I don't want to think about what it will be like when you and DerHexer get on at the same time... Keep up the good work! Thingg⊕⊗ 02:00, 3 June 2008 (UTC) |

- Actually, I'm just about to get off, so you can take it over for me from here. Just a little information, but I reverted 513 edits in about 2 hours, and I warned about 500 more (made about 1,150 edits). Cheers, Razorflame 02:07, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

You reverted the removal of copyrighted text from http://www.turbokart.com/about_agt1500.htm on the article AGT-1500. -- BlastOButter42 See Hear Speak 20:18, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- If you feel like I have made a mistake, you are free to revert my changes. The reason why I reverted that change was two-fold. The first reason was because it looked like a removal of content. The second reason is because the user did not provide an edit summary. The third reason was becaue the user added his signature to the end of the article. Cheers, Razorflame 20:20, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

- Thanks for the revert on my editor review. And to answer your question about me reverting too fast, I don't believe that 2 or 3 reverts a minute is all that much. In fact, sometimes, it is even less than that. I usually just revert things that are blatant vandalism (like insertion of gibberish and/or offensive words, insertion of spam, etc). Cheers, Razorflame 20:26, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) It's not a problem if you revert too fast -- I sometimes get up to 15 a minute. It's only a problem if you don't judge the edits carefully. -- BlastOButter42 See Hear Speak 20:30, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- I do judge the edits that I revert carefully. I always look them over to make sure that they are indeed vandalism. Also, if I am in doubt, I always do not revert. Cheers, Razorflame 20:31, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't say you didn't. The only time there would be a problem is if you did not do that, and it appeared to me that on AGT-1500 you didn't. But as long as you usually do, it's fine. We all make mistakes, including myself. I've had my share of bad Huggle reversions. -- BlastOButter42 See Hear Speak 20:40, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello yet again. I regretfully inform you that the bot we were using to update the user status at Wikipedia:Highly Active Users, SoxBot V, was blocked for its constant updating. With this bot out of operation, a patch is in the works. Until that patch is reviewed and accepted by the developers, some options have been presented to use as workarounds: 1) Qui monobook (not available in Internet Explorer); 2) User:Hersfold/StatusTemplate; 3) Manually updating User:StatusBot/Status/USERNAME; or 4) Not worry about it and wait for the patch to go through, which hopefully won't take long. If you have another method, you can use that, too. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Useight (talk) 17:47, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Editing pace
Dude, I just noticed that you've already clocked in 2700 edits this month. And we're only 3 days in. That rate will put you at almost 30,000 this month alone. Don't wear yourself out. Useight (talk) 02:07, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- I will pace myself. I just got a little excited is all. Yesterday was a very good day in terms of editing. 2 barnstars in the past 3 days (1 by an administrator) is a good thing. Cheers, Razorflame 02:09, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Two barnstars in three days? Nice. Useight (talk) 02:19, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Sure, I can go through your reverts, it'll take me a while, though. I'll take a large random sample. Useight (talk) 02:35, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for that! Let me know what you find in the morning! Cheers, Razorflame 02:51, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, here are the ones I found that were kind of questionable: good faith edit, didn't remove vandalism, added vandalism, and good faith edit. I went through your last 200 reversions and those were the only 4 I found that had a problem. So that's a 2% error rate. And they were all at the tail end of a long vandalism revert session, so may I suggest that you only revert vandalism for about a 15 minute span and then take a break for a while before reverting again? Useight (talk) 03:19, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I can do that. However, that first one that you labelled good-faith edit was somewhat of a GAE. He signed his edit, which means that I automatically revert it because that is against policy. Cheers, Razorflame 14:34, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Right, but against the whole reason we use rollback/huggle. You can't put in a simple edit summary letting the user know why you did it. Fine to revert those, just don't rollback, do it the old fashioned way and give a little edit summary. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 14:40, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Will do in the future. Thanks, Razorflame 23:34, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Co-nomination
Looks like you were given permission to co-nom. For some tips on writing that co-nom, take a look at User:Balloonman/How to nominate somebody for RfA, but there isn't a whole lot there specifically for the co-nominator. Since you're not the original nominator, you'll want to keep your nomination shorter. Focus on Cometstyles' good points, which in my cursory glance seem to be his focus on the mainspace, his experience in the Wikipedia namespace and his communication with others. I'm sure you have more experience with Cometstyle than me, so perhaps you know some finer points. If he has some great examples of things that you could show in diffs, such as remaining calm in the face of adversity, don't hestitate to link to diffs or conversations. And someone has to point out his 1000+ edits to AIV. Useight (talk) 02:04, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- I've already written the co-nomination. Unfortunately, it was a little bit longer than the nominators...so I'll have to trim it down a bit...cheers, Razorflame 02:09, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

- Thank you for your support
I would like to thank the community for placing their trust in me during my recent request for adminship, which passed 72 13 2 . Rest assured, I have read each comment thoroughly and will be addressing the various concerns raised as I step cautiously into my new role as janitor. In particular, I would like to thank Balloonman for putting so much time into reviewing my contributions and writing such a thoughtful nomination statement after knowing me for only a brief period of time (and for convincing me that I was ready to take up the mop now, rather than go through admin coaching).
To my fellow admins - please let me know right away if I ever take any mis-steps with my new tools. Should I make a mistake, and you reverse the action, I will not consider it to be wheel-warring (but please tell me so I can understand what I did wrong).
To everyone - please feel free to slap me around a bit if I ever lose sight of the core philosophy of Wikipedia as I understand it - the advancement of knowledge through the processes of mutual understanding and respect. As always, feel free to drop by my talk page if I can be of any assistance. =)
Sincerely,

Copyedits
Hi... you did a great job with Twillingate so I was wondering if you could look at one or two (or all) of these articles: Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and Labrador, Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador, St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Thanks. NeonFire (talk) 23:00, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- I will start copyediting the first two that you listed tomorrow. The third one that you listed is a bit too long for me to copyedit because I don't have that good of an attention span. Admin coaching
It's been a pleasure helping you out. I'm sure our paths will cross again in the future. You may end up being the last person I coach, since coaching seems to be falling out of favor with a lot of editors. I don't know. Regarding my RFB, you forgot to sign your comment and you used a bullet instead of an octothorp, so you may want to reformat it a little. Would I have had a better chance of passing in a few months? Perhaps, but the bureaucrats are short-handed now, so I ran. If, sometime in the future, at least 6 months from now, if they still have a lot on their plate, I'll run again, if not, I won't. Mikettg (talk · contribs), Dear User Razorflame, Yesterday I created a new page - George Panayotis, only to discover it was deleted today by user Hu12 with claims of blatant advertising...Mr Panayotis is a respected figure in both the Greek and French communities, and indeed a high-profiled figure in the hospitality and tourism industry around the world. He works both on radio and television, and is on the advisory board to the French Ministry of Economy, among other notable positions. I clearly referenced many of his attributes on the page, which are all credible sources. I will not even refer you to the tens of thousands of other bio pages, which could very well be categorised in the same way, but have sustained their right to be listed on Wikipedia. Please explain what we must do to have the page re-posted. Thanking you kindly (Mikettg (talk) 07:42, 12 June 2008 (UTC))
- I'm not the person to talk to about this problem, as I have nothing to do with the problem. Please talk to the administrator in charge of your content dispute instead of trying to contact someone who might sympathize with you. That is the correct thing to do. Please do not post on my talk page again. I have moved on from this Wikipedia and have no say in what goes on here. Thanks, Razorflame 22:38, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
My RFB
Thank you for your comments in my RFB. Since it was only at 64%, it was a shoo-in to be unsuccessful, so I withdrew. I didn't want it to run until its scheduled close time because my intent in standing for RFB was to help the bureaucrats with their workload, not give them one more RfX to close. Through the course of my RFB, I received some very valuable feedback, some of it was contradictary, but other points were well agreed upon. I have ceased my admin coaching for now to give me time to revamp my method. I don't want to give up coaching completely, but I'm going to find a different angle from which to approach it. As for my RFA Standards, I am going to do some deep intraspection. I wrote those standards six months ago and I will slowly retool them. This will take some time for me to really dig down and express what I want in an admin candidate. If, after some serious time of deep thought, I don't find anything to change in them, I'll leave them the way they are. I'm not going to change them just because of some community disagreement as to what they should be. Will I stand for RFB again in the future? I don't know. Perhaps some time down the road, when my tenure as an administrator is greater than one year, if there is a pressing need for more active bureaucrats, maybe. If there no pressing need, then maybe not. Useight (talk) 03:14, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Copy edits and the massive backlog
Hey there!
I'm sending you this because I noticed you were active in the former league of copy-editors. I joined the LOCE something like a few days before it became historical, and have been making a lonely effort to reduce the copy-edit backlog, so I've been curious - why did the LOCE close, are there any efforts going on out there to reduce the copy-edit backlog, and do you think there's a point in establishing (and would you join) a wikiproject purely to maintain the category of articles needing copy edits?
I've been having a hard time getting people on related projects (WP:PR, WP:GAN, etc) to help with the backlog, so I'm trying to gather suggestions or help regarding starting a project simply to maintain the category of articles needing copy edit.
Thanks! ;) --Samuel Tan (talk) 13:43, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I don't know why the LOCE just fell apart as I started editing on this Wikipedia several months or maybe even more like a couple of years after it closed, so I have no information pertaining to that. I have no information about what is going on on this Wikipedia because I have not been active for several months. Sorry!
Cheers, Razorflame 22:27, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Can you help?
I see you were listed as a participant in the League of Copy-Editors so it seems likely you can ... The thing is the Military history wikiproject urgently needs prose pros to help with our best articles. Milhist covers a broad range of interesting and varied subjects from film to biography, battles to weaponry, and Roman emperors to twentieth-century dictators. In Milhist, A-Class has become the last port of call before FAC and we are looking for people to help identify prose and MoS issues at A-Class A-Class Reviews and help fix them prior to featured article candidacy. We also have a copy-editing section in our Logistics Dept and that can always use experienced copy-editors. For most of our articles, you don't need to be a specialist in the subject matter, just good with words.
If you think you can help, please do! Thanks for your time, --ROGER DAVIES talk 04:20, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I am not very good with prose. Also, I am no longer active on this project. Sorry that I couldn't help! Cheers, Razorflame 22:28, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Ayyavazhi - Copy Edit Help
Sir, I found you from the LOCE page. Iam a non-native english editor in Wikipedia and so my English is not well enough to write an article in FA standard. For over several months I've worked in the Ayyavazhi article and've brought it to the present level. The article has also been nominated for FAC and GA but failed. The most important among few reasons is the writen language (low standard english). The other reason then was the citations and now it was rectified. By now the only problem, if exist, may be the 'written language' which may be cleared out by a copy-edit from a good copy-editor well-versed in English.
To be noted, The article also was requested for copy-edit in the LOCE page and was over there for nearly 1 year. But no one did it. Later the request was archived. I wish to nominate the article for FAC. I've seen your user page and noted you could be able to write with proffesional level in English. I feel it will be very much helpful if you can help me. I kindly request you to do the Copy-edit work in the article and very much request you to give your suggestions for promoting it to FAC level. Also I request to be patient while copy-editing because there are too many citations (foot notes) in the article and so while editing in edit box it may confuse you. Thanks - PAUL RAJ 19:18, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- I am sorry, but I am no longer active on this site anymore. I have too many other things todo with my time on the internet, so I am no longer able to help. Sorry for the letdown! Cheers, Razorflame 22:28, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
WP:HAU, Status, and you!
As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible) system - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 22:47, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the comments and removing my signature from the article pages (British Ambassadors to Portugal). I didn't know. Won't do it again and will try to read the material on editing. - I am sorry, but I cannot at this time. I am currently inactive on this site for the time being. Please ask someone else to do this, as I cannot do this at this time. Cheers, and sorry, Razorflame 23:40, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Wikiproject Romania
Hi, I would like to ask you whether you would like and have time to asses some articles for the wikiproject Romania. The pages are the biographies of the Romanian gymnasts included in the Category:Romanian artistic gymnasts. If you don't have time to do it could you please indicate me what could I do to get the articles assessed? Can I asses them myself? (I have made contributions and started the majority of the pages from that category, it seems to me that it's not so fair to asses the pages I started). Lulubon (talk) 15:27, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, you can assess them yourself. I cannot assess them at this time as I am currently inactive on this site. If you need anything else, please direct your questions to another user on this site. Cheers, Razorflame 20:04, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
Activity Status
Hello, Razorflame. I've noticed your inactivity since 10 October; you're listed on Wikipedia:Highly Active Users/North America. Is it alright if I remove you since you've started to become less active? Thanks, SchfiftyThree(Public) 21:09, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes, you may remove me from there. Cheers, Razorflame 20:55, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Good to have you back! Malinaccier (talk) 20:37, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- I might become more active, I might not...it all depends. You can certainly see me around fighting vandalism through the use of Huggle...:) Razorflame 21:09, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
