Hi Anupam, there is a spelling mistake in the name of of Chandra Roy. Her last name should be Henriksen, not Henricksen. A silly mistake, apologies. How can I fix this? --Rainmaker23 (talk) 03:40, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Chandra Roy-Henriksen

[edit]

Hi, I just wanted to say that I think the statement that you removed is quite relevant: "Following the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, Roy and much of her family chose to remain in independent Bangladesh after her father abdicated the Chakma throne and left for self-imposed exile in Pakistan." It is an important component of her life, and the page is about her and her life. Of course, it would be good to have a citation to support the statement. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Bangladesh, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please read WP:PEACOCK. Also please read MOS:IMAGES. Please do not overly clutter articles with images. Wikipedia is not a image gallery. Though, often, good images can be added in detailed level articles, top level articles should include only very few of them.  » nafSadh did say 02:28, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I added one image. If you're interested in removing it, then just get rid of it. Do not flood my talk page with unnecessary notices.--Rainmaker23 (talk) 02:53, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply. While English Wikipedia welcome continuously improving edits, often some overwhelming edits are counter-productive. Several years back, a lot of Bangladesh related articles were in really good shape. But a lot of then active editors became less active or retired. Recently several of them came back only to discover some featured articles demoted to not even good ones. This happened as those articles were plastered with a lot of images and useless newby edits. Just recently we got rid of extraneous images from some of these article. So, we are afraid of new images.
I appreciate your zeal and we would love to see more edits on articles which need improvement. Also, please note that, majority of good work in English Wikipedia happened when two or more editors discussed in talk pages. --» nafSadh did say 04:44, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Bangladesh–India relations may have broken the syntax by modifying 11 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Hello, Rainmaker23. You have new messages at Talk:Chakma people.

Tribe is incorrectly translated as উপজাতি (upojati) in Bengali, there is opposition to using that Bengali word, not the English word tribe. Tribe is better translated as আদিবাসি (adibasi) or নৃগোষ্ঠী (nri-gosthi). Let's go for a better word may be: ethnic group (super NPOV). » nafSadh did say 18:41, 14 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation for Talk

[edit]

I noticed the word capital in several articles and "rectified" some with headquarters 1, 2, 3, 4. Contention arose, when the content dispute was addressed harshly by you. Note that, I am a returning English Wikipedia editor, and I watch a wide range of Bangladesh related articles. Recently, while I check the watchlist, many of your edits show up - sometimes I disagree with your changes. Please note that I appreciate and really admire your works and I am certainly not stalking you. Wikipedia, once had a lot of active and good editors, but in recent few years there is a upsurge of not-so-good editors, and you are an exception in WikiProject Bangladesh. While I generally do not get enough time do contribute to the extent I want, I am pleased to see your effort and hopeful that some more editors like you will join (or at least some old editors shall come back). Do not hold grudges on reverts or edit disputes, that is normal and this is how Wikipedia stands neutral.

Anyway, the reason I am posting here: you are invited to talk here about capital/headquarters dispute. --» nafSadh did say 19:32, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Culture of Dhaka

[edit]

The section about culture in Dhaka had long been a mess. You and another IP uses have been developing it. I posit, it is high time we fork the section to a full article. I created Culture of BangladeshCulture of Dhaka. You are invited to add your good work there. – nafSadh did say 19:04, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

In use vs under construction

[edit]

Hi,

You put an Template:in use on Culture section of Dhaka. This shall be only visible when you have that section open in your edit window; it is for the purpose of avoiding edit conflict. If you have done some edit, and plan to do some later, use of Template:under construction is more appropriate. – nafSadh did say 19:42, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Nafsadh, your points are duly taken. Also, is there a template which says a copy edit is needed? --Rainmaker23 (talk) 13:40, 29 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There are. You can use Twinkle for tagging the whole article with Template:Copy edit. For section use, Template:Copy edit-section, and for inline, Template:Copy edit-inline. – nafSadh did say 19:15, 29 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You manipulative user. Read Wikipedia:Civility, I am supposed to remove personal comments. You also removed my response to your attack. I will report you for edit warring if you take this further.--Rainmaker23 (talk) 18:31, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You can remove anything from your talk page. But not from an article's talk page. You blanked the whole discussion. When I did the rollback it did not restore your last comment. So, I had to inline quote it in my response, which had an edit conflict; by that time you restored your last comment. With your blanking, it was not clear whether you wanted to keep your last comment or not.
Anyway, you need to cool down. I never tried to put a bar or obstacle in front of you. But, I'd like you to listen and talk with us as well. Discussion always improve edits. – nafSadh did say 18:44, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
