Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Blue Ridge Scout Reservation has been reverted.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \byoutube\.com (links: http://www.youtube.com/user/brsr161). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. Video links are also strongly deprecated by our guidelines for external links, partly because they're useless to people with slow internet connections.

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 21:07, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Blue Ridge Scout Reservation do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Thanks for correcting me... I always thought it was Blue Ridge Mountain Scout Reservation, considering it's the "Blue Ridge Mountains Council." I moved it back. Thanks again!--Unionhawk (talk) 20:53, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Brmcpatch.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. — neuro(talk)(review) 21:21, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

COI

[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Blue Ridge Scout Reservation, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. Unionhawk Talk Review 22:00, 6 April 2009 (UTC) Forget it... Note to self: Assume good faith, especially when there's probably an Admin watching the page... No hard feelings?--Unionhawk Talk Review 23:26, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • You just can't make it easy... can you? Oh snap... Eagle Scout, Wood Badger and Admin... *begins to respect a LOT more...* anyways... from an edit summary, "Look on the official website. It is "Blue Ridge Scout Reservation" I work here." And, good idea on declaring an interest... I should probably go do that myself, honestly.--Unionhawk Talk Review 22:36, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK: That edit summary wasn't the best idea. I think if cards are showing, then this should be resolved. --—— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 22:49, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for File:BRSR Logo.jpg}

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:BRSR Logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Additionally, if you continue uploading bad images, you may be blocked from uploading.STBotI (talk) 00:01, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your uploads

[edit]

Good day. I see that you have uploaded a number of images to Wikipedia. First off, thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, there are some guidelines that we need to follow with copyrighted images. Specifically, you need to add a source for the image (a link to a website will do), a copyright tag (there are some listed at WP:ICT), and a rationale explaining why we can use a copyrighted image (explained at WP:NFURG). I see that your images fail to include one of these. Please stop uploading images and address the concerns listed above. If you need assistance, you can ask at the help desk. If you do not fix these images, and you continue to make bad uploads, you will be blocked and your images will be deleted. Thanks for your contributions! Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Blue Ridge Mountains Council. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Images uploaded

[edit]

Okay, in case all the bot-generated messages aren't making it clear enough, you need to provide a source for the images you upload, otherwise, they will be deleted on 28 April, 2009 (UTC). I have reason to believe that you took these pictures, but you absolutely must confirm this.--Unionhawk Talk 00:58, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, if you did take these pictures, and are releasing them into public domain, you should consider moving them to Commons. But, more importantly, you must declare the author of the images.--Unionhawk Talk 01:05, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} I apologize, this is my first venture into contributing to Wikipedia. I want to make this page correct, but am sometimes unsure of how to do this. I provided a source for Camp Ottari Dining Hall, and want to make sure the author and source information are acceptable. I am also unsure of how to make the information for the logo correct.--Raider161 (talk) 15:54, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. It's never a problem asking for help! Copyright is a bit of a minefield, unfortunately, and I'm not an expert. However, the critical question is, did you take this picture? If you did, mention it here, and I'm sure we can take it from there finding the right templates. --GedUK  16:11, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The logo is fine. It is already tagged as "fair use." The photos need specification. All you need to do is provide an author in the "Author" paramater in the {{information}} tag. If this is you who took the pictures, add {{PD-user|Raider161}} to the licencing section. For more templates you can use, see WP:TMIN.--Unionhawk Talk 16:17, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, I forgot. You also need to provide a "Source" and description as well in the {{information}} tag. See Template:Information/doc for more help on what these parameters should include.--Unionhawk Talk
