Speedy deletion of "Printk"

[edit]

A page you created, Printk, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is very short and provides little or no context.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. Noformation Talk 09:32, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have updated the page and contested the marking too. Please take a look. Thanks. Rahulghose (talk) 12:04, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

your edit to Kolkata article

[edit]

hello. I recently saw your edit to the Kolkata article where you have removed the reference to the Bengal Engineering college (diff). I am guess the reason is that it does not fall within Kolkata. It would have been great if you had added the reason in the edit summary box as well. This helps other editors in identifying the reason behind edits with limited confusion/misunderstanding. Please consider adding edit summaries in your future edits. Thank you for your contribution to Wikipedia. - Subh83 (talk | contribs) 05:51, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This article or image appears to be a direct copy from source URL. As a copyright violation, File:Swapansadhanbasu.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. File:Swapansadhanbasu.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While contributions are appreciated, Wikipedia must require all contributors to understand and comply with its copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. Amadscientist (talk) 02:16, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

June 2011

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not replace pages with blank content, as you did with this edit to Swapan Sadhan Basu, as this is confusing to readers. The page's content has been restored for now. If there is a problem with the page, it should be edited or reverted to a previous version if possible; if you think the page should be removed entirely, see further information. Thank you. Noformation Talk 10:07, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm so sorry. I wanted to delete the page. I merged the content with Swapan Sadhan Bose. The article I created was spelling mistake. Thank you. Rahulghose (talk) 10:09, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Apmitra.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 02:35, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Help: Kolkata

[edit]

Hi Rahul!!
Please help updating the article Kolkata, because useless information with improper English has been added on the second paragraph by User:Kkm010. Actually, I don’t know much about the history of Kolkata, so I want you update it. I have corrected most of the grammatical errors on the second paragraph.
(Since that’s a featured article I am giving a notice to some of the Bengali editors.)
Thanks!

Hi. When you recently edited Loreto College, Kolkata, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages English and Bengali (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). File permission problem with File:Gcect.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Gcect.jpg, which you've sourced to Facebook Group. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:14, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Drm310 (talk) 17:33, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Apmitra.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Apmitra.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 03:28, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:14, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
