- Hi, Thanks for your quick review. If you look at the citations I included, they do meet the criteria for notable person. Certainly I am as notable as many other novelists who have Wikipedia pages (I noticed this while reviewing the Literature list on this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Oberlin_College_and_Conservatory_people.) The "waiting a few years" strategy has not worked, at least, not since 2004. Please advise? Thank you. RachelClineWriter (talk) 15:40, 21 July 2023 (UTC)RachelClineWriter
- Hello RachelClineWriter. Can I infer from your comment, and your conflict of interest disclosure on your userpage, that you are the person about whom you created the draft article? If so, please have a look at Wikipedia's inclusion criteria for authors and also the guideline for autobiographies, if you have not done so already. Thank you. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 00:27, 22 July 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks again, I did review all the relevant advice. I believe I warrant inclusion. 71.167.189.210 (talk) 00:11, 24 July 2023 (UTC)

- Hi, Thanks for your quick review. If you look at the citations I included, they do meet the criteria for notable person and I disclosed the potential conflict. Certainly I am as notable as many other novelists who have Wikipedia pages (I noticed this particularly while reviewing the subset to which I belong: those listed under "Literature" on this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Oberlin_College_and_Conservatory_people.) The "waiting a few years" strategy has not worked, at least, not since 2004. Can you please take another look at my proposed bio on the above basis? Thank you. Welcome!
[edit]Hello, RachelClineWriter, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be an article about yourself. Writing about yourself is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians.
As this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. We require individuals to meet Wikipedia's definition of a notable person to accept articles about them. A page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to or change it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

- Hi, thanks for your review. I see that a lot of information--some inaccurate--that was added to my draft does seem like self-promotion, but the basic facts I originally posted (the three books I have written, and the articles written by and about me/my work in publications with reliable fact-checking (The LA Times, The NY Times, The New York Review of Books) do establish that the author Rachel Cline is notable. Is it possible to revert to the shorter version and try again? Thank you. RachelClineWriter (talk) 20:32, 24 July 2023 (UTC)RachelClineWriter
- So are you Rachel Cline? You wrote in the third person. 331dot (talk) 21:17, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, I am. As I mentioned I disclosed the conflict. RachelClineWriter (talk) 21:23, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
- I have done my best to remove the promotional material and items erroneously added that were sourced to my own website. What's there now is pretty clean, I think. RachelClineWriter (talk) 21:26, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
- Let me take a look tomorrow morning (PDT). Will be busy for the rest of today. Thanks for replying. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 23:47, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
