Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Baba Gana Kingibe, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Principal Secretary. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:08, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

User page move

[edit]

Hi, I reverted your move of your user page as moving your user page doesn't actually rename your account. If you want to request a rename, please see this page. Thanks! firefly ( t · c ) 19:28, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Dave Umahi

[edit]

Hi, I wanted to ask about your edits on the Dave Umahi page. Since the ruling will likely be challenged, with Umahi staying in office during the course of the court proceedings, it seems a bit hasty to change the page now. However, I wanted to ask you before editing anything as you were the first to change the page. Watercheetah99 (talk) 21:25, 8 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Watercheetah99, I don’t know if replying this will be against any rule but I’m assuming to be bold now. The ruling will likely be challenged, when it gets challenged, we’d still edit it to sooth to current events but as it stands now, Dave Umahi, is not a legally recognised governor of Ebonyi State and I believe the Wikipedia page should represent that. You’ve been here so quite sometimes and I believe you know we only add/remove statements based on reliable sources. READING BEANSTalk to the Beans 04:06, 9 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In line with Watercheetah99, As of now, Dave Umahi is not the Governor of Ebonyi State and the seat remains vacant until another official in line of succession gets sworn in as Interim Governor before proper elections are conducted. The decision is however open to appeal at higher courts but at the same time he is not the Governor right now. QeenAnn (talk) 04:50, 9 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@QeenAnn: I saw the latest revert and just want to add that while I think the revert was proper, the edit summary you left was not really ideal. The changes being made weren't really vandalism (at least not as the term is defined by Wikipedia). If you were using a script or some other automated tool to revert, be advised that most of the edit summaries they leave are boilerplate text meant to cover the most common situations but which don't always fit every situation like a glove. So, you might want to be a bit careful when labeling things vandalism because incorrectly doing so can often make a situation worse. Although the editor in question is new and was making a mistake by edit warring, they weren't being a WP:VANDAL. Reverting them and strongly warning them to not edit war would've been more appropriate per WP:NORESVAND. If you're going to regularly patrol articles looking for vandalism, please keep this in mind. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:43, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Peaceray. I noticed that you recently removed content from Yemi Alade without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. By removing the {{ill}} template, you deprive editors of a link to a record that may have the information necessary to create an article, as well as a link where a reader may find out more about the topic.
