Welcome to Wikipedia

Hello, QLDer86, and welcome to Wikipedia! (I do notice you've been around for a few days, sorry for the late welcome!) Wikipedia is one of the world's fastest growing internet sites. We aim to build the biggest and most comprehensive encyclopaedia in the world. To date we have over four million articles in a host of languages. The English language Wikipedia alone has over one million articles! But we still need more!

I notice you have made contributions to the articles University of Queensland, International Peace Operations Association, Private military company and Foreign relations of Australia, along with edits on your own user page, and we thank you very much for that! Please feel free to continue to contribute your knowledge and expertise to our site. All useful contributions, no matter how small, are still needed in improving Wikipedia.

Reading everything on all these pages at once may be a little overwhelming, so take your time reading them, and do not be too pressurised by them. Take it slow. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using three tildes (~~~). You may also sign your name using four tildes (~~~~), which will automatically produce your name and the date.

If you need more help on any matters concerning Wikipedia, please check out the Help desk, a place to ask questions. Also, feel free to ask questions on my talk page. In addition, you may place {{helpme}} on your talk page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Remember to be bold in editing, but at the same time, try to make constructive edits, and do not vandalise any pages. To avoid amaking any mistakes, you can click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes. In the event that you do make any mistakes, don't be discouraged, especially by any criticism you may receive. Always remember what Mary Pickford said, "If you have made mistakes, even serious ones, there is always another chance for you. What we call failure is not the falling down, but the staying down."

Again, welcome!

God bless;
