The Smurfs (band)
[edit]I have several concerns that I want you to be aware of in regards to The Smurfs (band).
Firstly, do not create hoaxes. I know that you have asserted that the article in question is not a hoax and I believe you; but, even so, it has other problems. All contributions to Wikipedia are expected to be verifiable from reliable sources. You have said on my talk page that this article was created to "... try to allow, through massive means, the total recognition of the group." This may be considered spam. You also indicate that you may have a conflict of interest. Also, it is considered to be a violation of policy to remove a deletion template from an article which you created as you did here.
I am willing to leave the article as is for the time being. It is possible (probable, even) that another editor will nominate it for deletion as it clearly violates a number of policies; but, I will not do so because you asked me very politely. Thank you for that. WTucker (talk) 02:40, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Leticia Fajardo
[edit]An article that you have been involved in editing, Leticia Fajardo, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Leticia Fajardo. Thank you.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. JohnCD (talk) 12:58, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Personal attacks
[edit]Anything published in Wikipedia needs to be verifiable from reliable sources. This is particularly important for material about living persons: see Wikipedia's policy Biographies of living persons. The second part of your article Leticia Fajardo was an unsourced and extremely damaging attack. I have deleted it; if you post such material again, you may be blocked from editing. A tag has been placed on The Smurfs (band), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.
If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. WTucker (talk) 00:32, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of The Smurfs (band)
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article The Smurfs (band), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- A suspected hoax -- attempts to verify numerous facts from this article have met with little success. I did find Williams syndrome but nothing about the band, its musicians, music or its awards. If not a hoax, it is clearly not notable.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
