Welcome!

Hello, Go For TLI, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question. Again, welcome! {{helpme}} Hi! I'm wondering about the timestamps on the signatures as you see above. Is there a way to have them show up in my local timezone, or are they always UTC? I have set my timezone in My Preferences, and it shows my Local Time there. I don't see any option to force the timestamps to use that timezone though. Thanks for the help! Prompt Critical (talk) 17:59, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The only way I could think of would be to include the time in your signature (see special:preferences) using {{#time}} and checking the "raw signature" box — but in fact I don't see a way to adjust {{#time}} to your timezone. Maybe you can figure one out. (That'd be how to change the way everyone sees your signature, not how to change the way you see everyone's. I'm actually not sure which you were asking about.)—msh210 18:17, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You'd then need to sign using only three tildes (~~~), not four, so as to avoid duplicating the date (one from your signature, formatted as you like, and once inserted automatically).—msh210 18:29, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also, when I went to save this page, I was warned about adding an External Link, though I didn't really add one... Just curious. Thanks yet again! Go For TLI (talk) 17:59, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As to the external link thing, that's to prevent spam and will go away once your account is autoconfirmed (that is, when your account is 4 days old and you have made ten edits). I'm not sure about the timestamp thing, I never heard of that before. I'll look it up. Cheers, Cureden 18:13, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Presumably it's because of the external links in {{helpme}}.—msh210 18:19, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to all who replied! Go For TLI (talk) 18:25, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. -MBK004 23:38, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I added cites to a few of the statements where it seemed reasonable. I could probably add a reference for every sentence if desired, as NASA/KSC is documented to a nauseating dregree. :) If there's more cites you would like me to add, just say the word! I did read somewhere in the Welcome tutorial that citations should go on material that is likely to be disputed, and none of my adds seemed contentious to me, but I'm new so I'll defer to you on that. Also, I tried to respond on your talk page, but there wasn't an Edit button for some reason, but just a View Source button that I've not seen on any other page.
I figured it out and left you a reply on your other page, mostly the same as the above. :) Go For TLI (talk) 00:21, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 15:21, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Spaceflight portals

[edit]

Hello! As an member editor of one or more of the Spaceflight, Human spaceflight, Unmanned spaceflight, Timeline of spaceflight or Space colonisation WikiProjects, I'd like to draw to your attention a proposal I have made with regards to the future of the spaceflight-related portals, which can be found at Portal talk:Spaceflight#Portal merge. I'd very much appreciate any suggestions or feedback you'd be able to offer! Many thanks,

WikiProject Spaceflight activity

[edit]

Hello there! As part of an effort to determine how many active editors are present in the spaceflight-related WikiProjects, changes have been made to the list of members of WikiProject Spaceflight. If you still consider yourself to be an active editor in this project, it would be appreciated if you would please edit the list so that your name is not struck out - thus a clearer idea of the number of active editors can be determined. Many thanks in advance!

WikiProject Spaceflight reboot

[edit]

Hello there! As you may or may not be aware, a recent discussion on the future of the Space-related WikiProjects has concluded, leading to the abolition of WP:SPACE and leading to a major reorganisation of WP:SPACEFLIGHT. It would be much appreciated if you would like to participate in the various ongoing discussions at the reorganisation page and the WikiProject Spaceflight talk page. If you are a member of one of WP:SPACEFLIGHT's child projects but not WP:SPACEFLIGHT itself, it would also be very useful if you could please add your name to the member list here. Many thanks!
