As you objected to deletion, you were quite correct to remove the Proposed deletion (PROD) template from this article. It would be courteous to notify, by leaving a note on their talk page, the editor who proposed it - you can see by clicking the "View history " tab at the top of the article that it was user MilborneOne (talk · contribs).
Although dePRODding the article prevents deletion by that process, and a PROD once removed may not be replaced, the article may still be nominated under WP:Articles for deletion, which would start a debate lasting, normally, seven days to which you could contribute. I am sorry to have to explain what must seem a Byzantine bureaucracy, but these procedures (explained at WP:Deletion policy) work quite well in practice, and there are usually human guides available to help you through the maze.
