Speedy deletion nomination of Helios Productions
[edit]A tag has been placed on Helios Productions, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. —Largo Plazo (talk) 04:15, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Helios Productions
[edit]why was this page deleted? please inform me of what information needs to be provided to create page... Producercollective4 (talk) 04:27, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- The article did not credibly indicate that the company met the Wikipedianotability guidelines for businesses. Such articles may be speedily deleted. Acroterion (talk) 04:33, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- Well if you had let me complete creating the page that might have been helpful. Helios Productions had produced four films, has a private film fund, non profit company. how much more credible does the company need to be. Furthermore, the reason for adding the company is because it was the main production company on the film, Slightly Single in L.A. and needs to be credited. Can you undo the delete or I can start the page over again as long as it stays this time. Producercollective4 (talk) 04:37, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- Regarding what you said about the need to be credited: What comes first is the question of whether there should be an article about a company; if there should be, then you can create links to it. A desire to link a company name in another article isn't sufficient to justify the creation of an article about the company. Anyway, as I recommended, take a look at Wikipedia's guidelines via WP:First article to see if that helps you out. —Largo Plazo (talk) 04:47, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- I've placed the text in your userspace at User:Producercollective4/sandbox. The article as written is borderline promotional (the use of the first person is a clue to both promotion and conflict of interest) and has issues with notability as well. I don't see it surviving a full deletion discussion at Articles for Deletion in its present state. Articles on companies should assert and document the notability of the company by reference to press coverage of the organization, as opposed to its products. Thank you, I will make the appropriate changes. I was not done with the article by any means either. Thank you for all the help! Producercollective4 (talk) 22:21, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
