First, a tip: the quickest way to get the attention of a particular editor for a new conversation is to start a discussion their user talk page (doing so causes an orange "You have new messages" bar to show the next time they load any Wikipedia page). I happened to see this because I automatically put any page that I erdit onto my watchlist.

As for repaying me, how I wish I knew of this generosity before I paid for my Halo 3 Legendary Edition and Xbox 360. ;-)

All kidding aside, we're all volunteers. What you can do to help is to edit Wikipedia articles to make them better. My focus is on machinima (of which Red vs. Blue]] is an example) and video games (particularly the Halo series). There are open, voluntary groups of Wikipedian editors called WikiProjects that you can join; many have to-do lists. I belong to WikiProject Machinima, WikiProject Halo, and WikiProject Video Games. Although those are my particular interests (and I like to see people collaborate on those topics), you should edit what interests you. Speaking from personal experience, it is extremely rewarding to see an article that you've improved become (a) listed at Wikipedia:Featured Articles after meeting the featured article critera and, (b) even better, on the Main Page. But, even if an article isn't up to that high level, there are still good articles, which is a form of recognition that an article meets certain desirable criteria.

Like I said, find articles and topics that interest you, and see what you can do to help, either by adding sourced information, fixing typos, or clarifying unclear wordings. I think that you'll find that the vast majority of editors are willing to work together and improve the quality of the encyclopedia. Even though Wikipedia has more than two million articles, many of them are incomplete.

So, in short, don't worry about repaying me directly; if I help you to become a good Wikipedian editor, that will be a reward in and of itself. — TKD::Talk 05:19, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
