Unspecified source for Image:Hmpulham.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Hmpulham.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then you need to specify who owns the copyright, please. If you got it from a website, then a link to the website where it was taken from with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:28, 15 January 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NMajdan•talk 04:28, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Film infoboxes
Nice work knocking=off the H's so quickly, I'm still trundling through G a bit at a time :-) Regards. Trebor 07:35, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Dab request
Hi, I come to you for your dab interests. Beautiful Girl is supposed to be a film article. However it took a big number of aditors to make it into a dab page that doesn't lead anywhere. I was just doing a round adding infoboxes. Could you please fix somehow the page, so I can put an infobox? Hoverfish Talk 19:24, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well, there are a few options.
- I (or you) simply remove the songs and proceed to make it a film article.
- We make a separate Beautiful Girl (film) page and link to it from Beautiful Girl.
- We create Beautiful Girl (disambiguation) and move the songs over there along with a link back to Beautiful Girl, which itself gets something like .
- Since there are a number of significant artists with songs by that title (adding Bing Crosby and George Harrison to those already listed), there's a good chance that someday an actual article will turn up on at least one of them. Since this was not a particularly significant film, I think letting people get to the article via a dab page is perfectly fine. So my suggestion is to go with option #2. It will leave, admittedly, a pretty weak dab page at this point, but I think in the long run, it will require the least reworking.
- Let me know what you think.Planetneutral 19:55, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
It makes sense. I'll pick the 2nd opinon. Thanks for explaining. Hoverfish Talk 20:19, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:ANNIV.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:ANNIV.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Western genre
My inclination is to break out literature & movies, with a disambig page or header. I think the 2 are important enough to be dealt with separately. Ditto Western comics. Disagree? Trekphiler 08:57, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- I frankly had no idea breaking the two would entail so much work. Given that, I'd say subdivide the page more strongly, add material on novels, & leave it alone. As for Western comics, I'm not going to try writing it, but from what I know of the subject, I'd say it definitely deserves more attention than it's getting. Trekphiler 12:56, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'm satisfied to leave it as is. If somebody gets ambitious, more power to 'em, but I can't keep up with what I'm watching (off & on) now.... Trekphiler 13:24, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
VA project talk page archiving
Hi, You're quite right to archive it, & thanks for that, but I wonder if the section about categorising re Materials/genres with User:Renice etc should be held on the page a bit longer? It is mentioned as a "To do" item in the box at the top & the discussion, like so many in WP, just seemed to be getting somewhere when it just stopped. All the best, Johnbod 03:16, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
(copied from mine)Ok - that would be a good idea (revive & link). It's not a discussion I got much involved with, but it is an important one for sorting out the categories. User:Renice (very much a print person) has not been around the VA area much since about then, which is a great pity. But I hope she will return - she's said she will.
On Altdorfer, as very often, I could not find a decent print image - there is one clear print image for every hundred good ones of paintings on Commons, as I'm sure you know. Not all of his would work well small - the woodcut Christ & St Christopher would be ideal, but I could not find a decent one online. Cheers Johnbod 04:30, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Magnificentsevenride.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Magnificentsevenride.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. WikiProject Visual arts How to Help
Hi Sparkit. Definitely liked your improvements to the How to Help section. I've been working on a restructuring of the same area in my sandbox and was wondering if you thought I was heading a good direction or not. It's clearly a work in progress and I'd like to incorporate the type of broad headings that you introduced. I just want to know if it's worth continued effort or not. Thanks. Planetneutral 17:20, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Planetneutral! I like what you're doing with the "how to help" thing in your sandbox! This morning I started out updating this, Wikipedia:WikiProject Visual arts/Art Manual of Style, but got distracted by the "how to help" section of the visual arts project page and decided to clean it up. I think what you're doing and what I've done could easily be combined, and I encourage you to go for it on the project page. What do you think about a little template for editors with links to the help/howto articles relevant to editing visual arts pages? Something to put on one's user page or sandbox? >>sparkit|TALK<< 17:58, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the positive feedback. I agree that combining the approaches is very much possible. I think the template you mentioned has potential. My concern is that we haven't really developed the underlying project-specific resources that would be great to include (the Art Manual of Style is a perfect example). That said, I'm all for promoting this project and enabling participation in whatever way possible. Planetneutral 18:22, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- Good point! :) I may revisit that art manual of style some more. Most all the style information is scattered about in other help/howto articles, and I think pointers to them might be the way to go. >>sparkit|TALK<< 18:52, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Mind taking a look at the attempted merger, before I move it to the live page? Cheers. Planetneutral 19:34, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- Oooooooo! I like where this is going! Is it OK with you if I edit in your sandbox? Many thanks! >>sparkit|TALK<< 19:43, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- Absolutely. I appreciate the enthusiasm. Planetneutral 19:44, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- I added a link for the portal's "did you know" section, and made some minor edits. Go for it, my friend! >>sparkit|TALK<< 19:58, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Done. Thanks for your help! Now I need to think about what to do with that larger projects section. Just doesn't do it for me as is. Any thoughts? Planetneutral 20:07, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- You betcha, thank you! I added a bit about going to the talk page for help. I remember how lost I felt when I first started editing wikipedia.
- Probably "Sub-projects" would be a more descriptive title. The categorizing thing has been a scattered effort, and seems to working OK at the moment. Moving images to commons was just a fleeting idea I had one day. I'd much rather see all the artists whose work is on commons with the commons link on their pages - a monumental task.
- Anyhow, at the moment I'm thinking about chunking things down into sub-projects like:
- Manual of style
- Templatizing
- Categories - if it's still appropriate
- Portal maintenance
- Open tasks maintenance
- that sort of thing. Though, only manual of style and templatizing seem viable at the moment, the others are just examples of could-be.

Helping out with the Unassessed Wikipedia Biographies
Seeing that you are an active member of the WikiBiography Project, I was wondering if you would help lend a hand in helping us clear out the amount of [unassessed articles] tagged with {{WPBiography}}. Many of them are of stub and start class, but a few are of B or A caliber. Getting a simple assessment rating can help us start moving many of these biographies to a higher quality article. Thank you! --Ozgod 21:45, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Visual arts template
Hi Sparkit. I saw that you shrunk the image on the WPVA template. It's awfully small. Makes ir pretty difficult to even tell what it is. Might we meet somewhere in the middle?
If we're going to shrink the image, I'd suggest we also shrink the text size, so they are in better balance. This would also serve the purpose of making the template smaller, which I imagine was at least part of your intention by shrinking the image.
So glad to see someone interested in the template! Cheers. Planetneutral 15:41, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, my intent was to reduce the vertical size. The image definitely doesn't have enough contrast at that small size. A little bigger would work better for recognizing that image. When I did it I started wondering if we had another more iconic image we could use for that. Maybe the same one as the Visual arts portal? Though that's so painting oriented, and visual arts isn't just about painting. [>>sparkit|TALK<<] 18:03, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- That's funny, 'cause just last night I was thinking of how much I disliked the image on the Visual arts portal and was thinking of changing it to the sunflowers. I'm certainly open to change on both fronts. Planetneutral 18:58, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe we could discuss on the portal or project page? The palette icon doesn't work very well for me either. How's about an image of an eyeball? Artfully done, of course. It would lend an implication of "visual". [>>sparkit|TALK<<] 19:24, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks and here's some more
Thanks for starting to remove that odd tag to the visual arts project that Alphachimpbot added--a bot gone astray? Much as I like visual arts, and breeding horses may well be an art, nonetheless the color of horses is genetics, not WPVA, I suspect! <grin> Anyway, there are more articles on horse colors and markings that got hit by the bot. Here's the list of all on my watchlist...you got several, there's more. Thanks Montanabw 03:13, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Visual arts portal
I should have asked for review sooner! Thanks for your quick response and instant improvements. Planetneutral 04:45, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, it was nothing...just some aesthetics. :D The portal right now looks very nice. I'll try to give a review by next week. Hopefully you'll get good reviews from other Wikipedians by then as well! Great work and happy editing, S.D. 04:50, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
'Bot stub-sorting
You're right, and that's certainly what I would have done by hand. However, the 'bot is currently only set up to do restubbings by "batch", making a fixed set of changes on each run. Now admittedly, I could have made additional runs to sort to the more specific type, had I thought of it at the time... Alai 23:17, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
D'oh!
Gosh, I would have sworn that I'd gone through and changed all four rotating sections footers to match. Must have just previewed and forgot to save. I do that WAY too often. Thanks for cleaning up my messes. Planetneutral 14:53, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'm certain that you did! I changed a bit of the code and decided to match the sections. :) Again, I love what you've done with this portal - a few more tweaks and some more rotating content and it'll be featured... no doubt. The quotation section - well, I'm not fond of yet another box within all the boxes and the small type. Not a big deal, but I'm playing with some ideas here, User:Sparkit/sandbox/templates. Not what I'm after yet but maybe more play on it later.
- Keep this up and you'll get hit with some barnstars! --sparkitTALK 15:16, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, OK, I guess I'm not quite as crazy as I'd thought. Good to know. I'm definitely open to different displays for the selected quotation, so I'll keep an eye on your sandbox page. Nice to have someone with an artistic eye involved! Planetneutral 15:21, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well, this templating stuff is certainly crazy-making! I boldly went ahead an implemented my quote layout idea, and added a Duchamp quote. Thanks! --sparkitTALK 16:30, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- Strangely, running IE7 on Vista, the More selected quotations link is white and therefore invisible on the main portal page. Doesn't happen on Firefox. Wonder why that would be? Can't really dig into it now, but I'll look tonight. Planetneutral 18:01, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- I may have fixed that by adding style="background-color:transparent;". The text had a white background on Firefox/Mac, but the text itself was blue/purple, but now it's the same as the background. --sparkitTALK 18:24, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Display problem
Something about the changes made today has resulted in a break of the portal's display in IE6, such that the right column is pushed down below the end of the left column. It was working as of the end of last night. Too much was done today beyond my limited understanding to have any hope of fixing it, so I'm hoping you can. Cheers, Planetneutral 02:24, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- Ugh. I'll roll 'em back and let you know the specific problems in firefox/mac. the code will be more familiar to you that way. I don't have Windoze to look at the probs. --sparkitTALK 02:40, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I tried some 'rolling back' in an isolated fashion, but it may be that all three sections now share some attribute that's flummoxing the whole deal. I check IE every once in a while for exactly this reason. Hope it solves the issue.
- I'm working on some of the other suggested tweaks. While I hesitate to sacrifice originality and style for the sake of consistency (and really recoil at the use of quote in place of quotation), I'm pretty sure we'll lose those fights at the FPC level anyway. And really, the goal is to draw attention to visual arts on Wikipedia, so I want that FP status badly. Major increase in the number of eyes on the portal. Planetneutral 02:47, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- I rolled them back to last night. It'll be easier that way I think. As far as the FPC thing goes, how's about submitting it the way you, or we, like it, and if a case can't be made for the originality, then change it? --sparkitTALK 02:55, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- I got it!!!!!!!! Something about moving the Did you know section into the right column (or moving the things you can do to the bottom) broke it. Switch 'em back and presto. Kind of a bummer as I liked it better the other way, but I'd rather have it working. Planetneutral 04:41, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- Wow! that's really weird, but I've seen bugs like this before. I'm suspicious of the div tags and floating... seems I recall reading that IE doesn't handle them the same as mozilla.
- I've been thinking about visual art content... I just don't remember coming across very many articles that are "GA" status. And I glanced at the bureaucracy surrounding that today. Ugh! --sparkitTALK 04:54, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yup, having the same problem. Many of the GA articles are unimpressive. Bios are no problem.
- I added a suggestion area for each of the rotating sections. I'm working on DYK right now. Of course, I should be heading off to bed... Planetneutral 04:58, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- Is there a way that you can introduce a line of white space between the bottom of the {{{text}}} and the footer material in the rotating sections? I can't figure it out and my brain is fading fast~ Thanks for the help. Planetneutral 05:16, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- break tags are the easiest. I did it for the Portal:Visual arts/Selected article/Layout. See if that's what you're after. And get some rest! :)
- I'd like to see a little more white space at the above the items, like right about the first line, but I won't fiddle with that now. --sparkitTALK 05:28, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- That might be too far in the opposite direction ('cause I'm not at all picky). Maybe a single break tag is enough? Planetneutral 05:31, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- OK. Let's try one. :) I made the change. --sparkitTALK 05:41, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- It's true that a number of them aren't addressing it. Here's some that seem to: Portal:Dogs, Portal:Electronics and Portal:Literature. I'm not seeing any difference on the basis of that line height attribute in Firefox or IE.
- I'm OK with moving the picture, although it does make it pretty rigid and boxy on the left. Seems to work on the whole. Planetneutral 14:15, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- The dog portal is using a common box footer template, placed on the portal main page. I tried it with visual arts just now and it messed up he page layout. Didn't save it. --sparkitTALK 14:46, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- Are you sure? That's not what I'm seeing for the random components (which is where the issue is, right?). It looks like they are using the layout that I started with.
{| class="noprint" width="100%" border="0" style="padding: 0; margin: 0; background-color:transparent" |- |<div style="text-align:left;">'''[[Portal:Dogs/Selected article|...Archive/Nominations]]'''</div>|| <div style="text-align:right;margin-right:10px;margin-bottom:4px;"> '''[[{{{link}}}|Read more...]]''' </div > |}
- Is there a compelling reason not to just use that? Planetneutral 15:06, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, that's what it looks like now that I look closer that box-footer is included in the rotating template. The most compelling reason not to use that is that "...archive" and "...read more" links using the div tags will overlap tall images on the archive pages. --sparkitTALK 15:14, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- Also, the {{tl:Random portal component}} uses {{tl:Portal:box-footer}} which is not adjustable by us unless we want to change all the wikiportals that use it. Which explains why we see a difference in the components we're using that don't use the random thing (DYK). Dunno where to go on this from here. --sparkitTALK 15:41, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- I had to do some pretty drastic things, but I have everything working, including eliminating the white quotations link in IE7. Did not like having to 'undo' so much tweaking, but things are about as they should be now across browsers. In an ideal world, getting rid of the white space under the footer links would be desirable, but I really don't want to play and have to do this all again, as it's been a real energy drain/distraction from focusing on the content of the page. So I recommend we be pretty cautious (not dormant, just careful) from here as far as box format tweaking is concerned. Planetneutral 18:51, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing that. The problem with the "more" links overlapping some of the images in the article and bio archives has returned. If you're not seeing it in firefox/win, it must be a firefox/mac-specific problem.
- The whole exercise has been a drain/distraction to me as well, but I must say that I know alot more now about the arcane bits of portal code. --sparkitTALK 19:29, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Selected quote
Not always! - you got me just at the right time. However looking at what links here, there are a number of other pages with quotion instead of quote. However, I think you should be able to move these yourself with the move button (you have got one, I think) - not cut and paste though, but you may know that. If you need any more assistance, let me know. Keep up the good work! Tyrenius 00:20, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- The quote selection is a new one on me. I'm wondering why they aren't all on one page for easy access? Also, if you don't do it already, I'd recommend Wikiquote. They seem a bit deficient on (contemporary) visual art there. I added Tracey Emin for example. Then there's a special box on Wikiquote to link to the Wikipedia article and vice versa. It would be good to promote this on the portal. Tyrenius 00:28, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- I got a bit muddled there - I was meaning the Visual Arts project! However, I see the portal has links to other projects, so the Artists category on Wikiquote might be valid. Tyrenius 00:33, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for info. Just doing a bit on wikiquote right now (same user name). Tyrenius 00:45, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Thank you
Many thanks for the little touches (recatting, spelling corrections) on mat (picture framing) and fillet (picture framing). Both helped, though I'm particularly grateful for the spelling corrections, which were somewhat embarrassing. ^^;; Runa27 15:24, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Carducci
Have a google search for "Bartolomeo Carducci" and you'll have plenty of sources. I think, English sources are not so much reliable for Italian old matters, as they simply copy each other. "Bartolommeo" is in fact a typical old-fashioned typo from English sources, as both in Italian and in Latin the name as a single "m" (Bartolomeo and Bartolomeus). Bye and good work. --Attilios 19:35, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
If I may butt in, and ignoring A's usual tendency to blame everything on the English, I think he is right on this one: Bartolomé Carducho gets 442 English lang ghits (including accentless e's), & the Italian 27,200. Scholar 44 to 131. I notice the Spanish WP use the Italian, & the Germans the Spanish - go figure! I think it's the first time I've had an issue with the Getty Index. I noticed on Jusepe de Ribera that the US tended, like the Spanish, tended to use José, whereas he & everybody else uses Jusepe. Johnbod 19:49, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

...to know that an editor reversed your page move of Constantin_Brâncuşi without providing a counter-logic for doing so. Planetneutral talk 19:19, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- I saw it when it happened and chose not to fight that battle. :) The edit summary of the move, to the spelling that no one will search for, said "not a policy". As it turns out the page I though was policy was a proposed-but-failed policy and no one had marked it as such (it's now marked). However, it confuses me in light of all the other naming convention pages which prescribe "use English." I guess all the libraries and museums in the English speaking world have been spelling it wrong for decades. It's confusing other folks, too. Question on @Road entry
Planetneutral -
I noticed you were a fellow Illini alum, so I thought I would ask you for some advice on Wikipedia.
I tried to get a link under GPS Tracking to our company, GPS Insight. It was summarily deleted as spam, although it was roughly similar to several other company references. I see that you recently edited the @Road entry.
I am curious, if I want people to be able to see some of the things we're doing with GPS Tracking, and want a reference under the Wikipedia, what is my best approach?
I am curious why you maintain the @Road page, as well -- do you work there by chance?
I appreciate your help -- thanks in advance.
Incidentally, this was the reference which I attempted to add:

On Giovanni da Milano
No strong oppion on how it should be sorted. The danger of sorting along first names is that Giovanni & Giovanni Battista, Antonio, etc is by far the most common name in Italian. I'll go along with your choice of Giovanni since Milano is not a true surname.
Question is defaultsort or catsort preferred? CARAVAGGISTI 23:46, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Hotpursuit.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Hotpursuit.jpg. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:26, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

The newsletter is back! Many things have gone on during the past few months, but many things have not. While the assessment drive helped revitalize the assessment department of the project, many other departments have received no attention. Most notably: peer review and our "workgroups". A day long IRC meeting has been planned for October 13th, with the major focus being which areas of the project are "dead", what should our goals be as a project, and how to "revive" the dead areas of our project. Contribute to the discussion on the the new channel (see below) We decided to deliver this newsletter to all project members this month but only those with their names down here will get it delivered in the future. This is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned or post news on the next issue's talk page
Lastly, a new WikiProject Biography channel has been set up on the freenode network: Our thanks to Phoenix 15 for setting it up.

Speedy deletion of Template:User Visual arts
A tag has been placed on Template:User Visual arts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Why do you have a copy of WP:WPVA on a user subpage? I don't really mind, its just that your page shows up in many art-related stub categories. I will attach nowiki tags to them to prevent this unless you object in the next week. Thank you, Lithoderm 23:53, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- Noticed you haven't made any edits since 2007, so I will go ahead and nowiki the entire page. Thanks, Lithoderm 23:52, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:Hotcarscoldfacts.gif)
Thanks for uploading File:Hotcarscoldfacts.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:03, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Joan Miró and Qrpedia
Hello! I've seen that are you are a member of the Wikiproject: Visual Arts and to the Wikiproject Typo...and I would like to ask you for some help. The Wikipedia in Catalan have reached an agreement with the Joan Miró Foundation: They will include QRpedia codes next to the highlights of his upcoming exhibition about Joan Miró. It's the most important exhibit in the last 20 years, and has passed summer at Tate in London, this autumn will be in Barcelona, and then will go to NGA in Washington. The articles have been made in Catalan and are being translated into English, and I would like you to help us whether monitoring the translation, translating articles or expanding or translating them to other languages. The more languages we have, the better the experience for the user. You can find more information about the Wikiproject here. Thank you in advance!.--Kippelboy (talk) 11:48, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
Wikipedia policy allows us to link to legal streamed copies of albums. It would be useful to draw up a guideline on how and when to link to such albums; however, there is concern that it may not be appropriate as the music would not be available in all parts of the world. Is the benefit of having access to the music for most users outweighed by the fact that some users will follow a link to find the music is not playable in their region? Your view would be helpful at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums. SilkTork ✔Tea time 02:30, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Disambiguation link fixing one-day contest
I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 02:33, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
