The Children's Museum of Indianapolis' first Edit-a-Thon, occurring Saturday, August 20 as part of the 2nd Backstage Pass, will focus on the creation and improvement of articles related to the Caplan Collection. The Caplan Collection is made up of 50,000 pieces of folk art, folk toys, and child development materials from 100 countries. The Edit-a-Thon will have two components: a group of Wikipedians on-site at the museum will work with curators to use both digital and hard copy resources to create articles, and anyone else who is interested in participating can do so online, and from anywhere in the world. A number of resources will be digitized in order to help online editors update the related articles, listed below. Editing will begin at 1pm EST (-5 GMT) on Saturday, August 20.
You can chat and coordinate your efforts on this Etherpad: TCMI Backstage Pass Etherpad
And feel free to post, here, about who is working on what sections, etc. Organize away!
