Startling by Each Step
Hi, I was just wondering, can you do grammar check of the TV serial Startling by Each Step? I would be grateful if you did. I've been doing grammar check on it, but am not confidant of my ability. Please?! Thank you.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 02:04, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you, and to show my appreciation, here a link of the copy TV show's soundtrack for you to download. You can find the tracklist from the article, including a Chinese version of it as well. Hope you like it, since from what I see from your user page, that you are also a Chinese like me.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 04:39, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
- You're welcome! Sadly the link you provided is blocked here. I'm not Chinese but English, I just happen to live in China :) ► Philg88 ◄ talk 23:45, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, okay. The Magapuload link, I guess it only works for people living in North America regions, and I kinda thought maybe you are a Chinese American like me, sorry. So, I guess the article is grammer error free now. Thanks again.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 05:05, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

Please comment at Fandi Ahmad's ongoing peer review!
Hope you have a wonderful 2012! Thanks for volunteering to copyedit articles on peer review. I have written an article about Singapore football legend Fandi Ahmad and am aiming for GA status. Would you like to start 2012 by commenting at its ongoing peer review and thus supporting the quest to counter systemic bias on Wikipedia? Thanks! 谢谢!Terima kasih! நன்றி! --J.L.W.S. DYK nomination of Harriet Low
Hello! Your submission of Harriet Low at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Yoninah (talk) 11:03, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, I just opened Google Books to see if I could find more biographical information, and found some good references. "Hillard" was her married name. I don't have time now to write it all in; maybe you'd like to do the honors?
- Give her this day: a daybook of women's words, p. 146-7: Complete biography of Harriet Low Hillard
- Plants & Gardens, p. 192: "A part of Brooklyn's history is preserved in a corner of the Botanic Garden where stands a bronze drinking fountain in memory of Harriet Low Hillard"
- A Guide to the microfilm edition of Women's studies manuscript collections from the Schlesinger Library, Radcliffe College: Woman's suffrage, p. 17: "Mary Loines was born in England on May 4, 1844, the daughter of John and Harriet Low Hillard. ... She married Stephen H. Loines; they had four children. Mary Loines was active in the suffrage movement beginning..."
- Report of the secretary of the Class of 1863 of Harvard College, June, 1875: Another daughter was named Harriet
- You can also find Rosemarie Lamas' book online and extract info from it: Everything in Style: Harriett Low's Macau

Thanks Yoninah! I have expanded the article based on some of your sources - from China I get different results from you on google books but no matter. Let me know what you think. Best, ► Philg88 ◄ talk 22:59, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- Hi again, I saw your beginning of an expansion. Are you planning on doing more? The page really should be moved to Harriet Low Hillard, and her whole life should be mentioned. Her claim to notability, of course, is her trip to Macau. Best, Yoninah (talk) 22:56, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Hi Yoninah, I've run out of material to expand the article so I'm done - maybe it should be marked as a stub but it's going to prove difficult to fill in the gaps I think. Not sure about the move to Harriet Low Hillard - her notability as you say was based on Macau and that was how she was known while she was there - as noted in contemporary sources. Best Regards, ► Philg88 ◄ talk 01:11, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- If you don't mind, I'm going to work on it a bit so it will be ready for DYK. Yoninah (talk) 13:00, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Copy edit for Madagascar GAN?
Hi Philg88, I really appreciate your earlier help with copy-editing Malagasy cuisine and Rova of Antananarivo. I'm now working on the big kahuna - Madagascar - and hope to get this up to GA and then FA shortly afterward. The article needed to be largely rewritten and was riddled with plagiarized text, unsubstantiated assertions and general incoherence. I've put a lot of work into it, although some refs still need to be added and the prose could use polishing. I'm hoping you would be willing to do a copy edit on this one, too. A recently submitted request for a copy edit produced a largely automated list of feedback and no response to the specific points I'd requested assistance with, namely the breadth/depth and detail of subject coverage for a FA-quality country article, and a second pair of eyes to ensure objectivity in regards to the presentation of Malagasy politics etc. (particularly in light of the unconstitutional power transfer back in 2009). Your help on this if you have the time would bring a new level of quality to this key article. Cheers, Lemurbaby (talk) 17:10, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
- Update - I just nominated Madagascar for GA. Welcome your input. Lemurbaby (talk) 07:35, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
Hello there! Could you please check Haikou Xiuying Port and Haikou New Port? I think I'm mixing them up. Haikou New Port says it's the main cargo port. But Haikou Xiuying Port looks way bigger. Is this outdated info, or am I mixing up the names? Also, if you could provide coords for Haikou New Port, I would be very grateful. Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 05:35, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
- Sorted. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 10:28, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry Anna, that one kinda slipped through the cracks. Other priorities right now as you know. Best ► Philg88 ◄ talk 23:26, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
GOCE banners
Hi
Is it true that you do not normally include your username in the GOCE banner? (on Talk:Air India Express Flight 812 for example)
Is there a particular reason for this? Personally I normally only put the banner on articles where I have done a major copyedit, and usually from the request page. I was considering putting names to those that do not have them, though of course if there was some reason for your not including yourself I would not do that. Chaosdruid (talk) 00:59, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
Hi CD, The reason I don't include my user name is to avoid any semblance of proprietary interest in an article I have copyedited. I feel that using the generic GOCE template is much more inclusive of the entire Wikipedia community. I hope that makes sense. Best ► Philg88 ◄ talk 09:41, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
DYK for Harriet Low
On 31 January 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Harriet Low, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Harriet Low (pictured) caused a diplomatic incident when she entered the banned port of Canton dressed as a boy? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Harriet Low.You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Please comment at Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore's ongoing peer review!
Since you have listed yourself as a peer review volunteer interested in copyediting, would you like to support the quest to counter systemic bias on Wikipedia by giving a thorough review of the article Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore? MINDS turns 50 this year and getting their article to GA status would be a great way to appreciate their support of intellectually disabled Singaporeans. Thanks! 谢谢!Terima kasih! நன்றி! --J.L.W.S.
Apollo Augustus Koo (talk) 06:02, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

FA review of Rainilaiarivony
Hi Rhilg88. I have a level-4 vital Madagascar-related article up at FAC and it isn't attracting any attention. It's the biography of the last Prime Minister of the 19th century Kingdom of Madagascar, who carried the island to the modern age before being exiled by the conquering French colonial army. You always offer such helpful reviews. I'm hoping you'll take a look at it Wikipedia:Featured_article_candidates#Rainilaiarivony here if you have a chance.
