Computer software
[edit]The Computer software article received heavy editing today by new/unregistered users, which I noticed at WikiRage.com. The article may benefit from a good review. According to Wikipedia Page History Statistics, you are one of the top contributors to that page. If you have the time, would you please read over the article and make any necessary changes. Thanks. -- Jreferee (Talk) 19:40, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
[edit]... for fixing Template:Australian Politics Suburb. I got a couple of odd complaints overnight about implementations of it and couldn't figure out why it looked perfectly normal when I looked :) Orderinchaos 21:06, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
speedy tag
[edit]When placing a speedy deletion tag on a template or a redirect in the template namespace, please consider enclosing it in <noinclude></noinclude>, to avoid causing pages that transclude it showing up in CAT:CSD. —Random832 18:15, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]You corrected my acronym error in World Association of Newspapers; but I didn't quite understand your explanatory edit summary. Could you try to explain again using different words? I think there's something crucial here which I should have come to understand before now. I suspect that I'm missing something fundamental.
Please look at International Freedom of Expression Exchange#Members of IFEX. Look at the acronymns. I begin to worry that every one of these acronymn links represents a wiki-error? --Ooperhoofd (talk) 18:39, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
- Aha! Thank you. Your edit seems elegant -- very nice. I will re-visit other articles where I could have handled acronyms more effectively. Apparently I needed just this one more step, the illustrative examples ... and now I do understand. The following is an example of my first edit using the method you've suggested:
- The Bavarian State Library (Bayerische Staatsbibliothek or BSB) is a participant in the project.<ref>[http://www.libraryjournal.com/article/CA6422888.html Bavaria + Google (in English)]; [http://wiki.netbib.de/coma/GooglePrint Staatsbibliothek + Google (in German)]</ref>
- Yes. --Ooperhoofd (talk) 17:34, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Bad automated AWB edit to Dave Arneson
[edit]In this edit you changed "Foundary" to "Foundry". I'm guessing this was an automated recommendation by AWB. Unfortunately AWB didn't notice that "Foundary" is a last name and is spelled correctly. It's an easy detail to overlook, I just wanted to give you a heads up. — Alan De Smet | Talk 03:03, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. That one must have slipped by. I don't plan on changing proper names they are what they are. This is one of the reasons spelling correction cann't be automated. Phatom87 (talk • contribs) 13:47, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
Neodymium
[edit]Neodymium is misspelled in Image:Neodymium isotope signatures.svg. If you could, please help correcting it. Thanks, Warut (talk) 20:33, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

This article was only on Wikipedia for three minutes before you tagged it as an orphan. I don't think that is necessary and a little overboard. How can you expect an article to have other articles linked to it (in Wikipedia) in under three minutes? Check the revision history Steve Quinn (formerly Ti-30X) (talk) 06:50, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Article Feedback deployment
[edit]Hey Phatom87; I'm dropping you this note because you've used the article feedback tool in the last month or so. On Thursday and Friday the tool will be down for a major deployment; it should be up by Saturday, failing anything going wrong, and by Monday if something does :). Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 22:13, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your additions to the article. Just a small FYI: when doing the repeat refs, there is no need to put in the last "ref". You had <ref name="arsenal1"></ref>, but all that is needed is <ref name="arsenal1"/>. --P123ct1 (talk) 08:16, 5 September 2014 (UTC)
Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant
[edit]Thank you very much indeed for converting all those bare URLs into proper footnotes. The number of editors who leave bare URLs has increased a great deal recently. I was so concerned that I put a note about it on the Talk page here. Did I understand your edit summary to mean you used Reflinks? I thought that tool was down, owing to a dispute between its owner and Wikimedia. It was invaluable for converting bare URLs. The manual method using cite templates is very laborious. I have tried sending editors who leave bare URLs a template which I devised giving very simple instructions on how to use the edit cite templates, but it is usually ignored. --P123ct1 (talk) 08:28, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
- I have tried the version of Reflinks that User:Zhaofeng Li/Reflinks provides a link for, but nothing happens, whether I put in the name of the page (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) or a specific bare URL. Why is this? How did you make this work? --P123ct1 (talk) 09:49, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
- @P123ct1 first I noticed in running it on this article that a bare link of the form <ref>http://www.example.com</ref> was missed and had to be manually expanded. The tool has a fix page button which triggers it to run, After this it will return with an internally generated preview of just the changes. Nothing is sent to the wiki just yet although it may appear so. At this stage there should be a second button at the bottom of the page to actually send this to the wiki. This will open a preview in the wiki editor for final review before actually submitting. I ran it via the first form which takes an article name. This is a re-write of the original tool.Phatom87 (talk • contribs) 12:47, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
