Percy Allan (economist) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Percy Allan (economist), is not suitable as written to remain published. It appears there is a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As per WP policy, please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 17:04, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Onel5969,
Sorry I took long to reply. I have been away from my laptop. Here is my response to your claims.
The article I am creating is about a person I met in the past during a conference. I am not receiving any compensation for creating the article and this is 100% voluntary. I don’t know what makes you think it is paid editing.
  1. Most of the parts you may consider unreferenced are in the Who's Who in Australia book.  I just avoided using the same citation for all parts.
  2. In the publications section, I only added a few of them as I found very many on the internet. See here.
  3. The part on student leadership is mentioned in another Wikipedia article that I linked in my article.
I am sure if I get time to do more research, I can get the references. However, that may not possible now until mid-next week when I have an off day. My main aim was to start a short article and other editors can help to improve it where needed.
Please remove the tag you added as it is totally misleading. Also, If you want me to attach a scanned page of the Who's Who in Australia book where I got the details, I would be happy to do that. Thank you Peterdelgrim (talk) 19:59, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. As I said in my above message, I wasn't sure it was paid editing (UPE), or a conflict of interest (COI). The fact that you have met the subject means that you have a conflict of interest. As it says in the opening paragraph of COI, "Someone having a conflict of interest is a description of a situation, not a judgment about that person's opinions, integrity, or good faith." As it says there also, "Editors with a COI, including paid editors, are expected to disclose it whenever they seek to change an affected article's content" (obviously, in your case the paid editing part does not relate to you). So you simply need to follow the instructions at WP:DISCLOSE. And then when it gets reviewed, the reviewer will most likely remove the tag. Onel5969 TT me 21:59, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I mentioned that in my user page Peterdelgrim (talk) 07:45, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
