This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Patience Bacon Miller, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Patience Miller. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 22:03, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Patience Bacon Miller. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Patience Miller. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Patience Miller – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:06, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The article Patience Miller has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Patience Bacon Miller. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Don't remove the disputed tag. It is disputed, because I, and other people, are disputing it, see Talk: Patience Bacon Miller. There is currently no evidence that they are the first female physician & surgeon, or that they were a founder of Northampton, Massachusetts- until reliable sources are added for these claims, they are still disputed. Joseph2302 (talk) 19:33, 22 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure how to reply to messages. I will read up tonight. Several changes have been made by other people.

Regarding the disputes. If you reference the History of Northfield, on page 68, it also states Miller was a "first settler" of Northampton. There is a monument in Northampton to Patience and William Miller and states on it, "Pioneers of Northampton" erected in their memory by the Historical Society. I have a photo of the inscription. Is that not substantial? Meanwhile will look for additional sources.

Regarding "first woman surgeon and doctor" this is the earliest documented source of a woman doctor in American history. As mentioned in "history of women in medicine". Until there is a historical account of another before Miller, how can it be disputed? Currently she is the first documented/recorded in "I50 years of the Northfield Settlement."
