Dive In
Deep breath... jump! So I opted for putting this after, mainly because I personally am more likely to want to use the contents of the first post... ha ha... than I am to want to ever see this post again.
Oh riiiiight! The signature. Duoooh!
And since I imagine a few swift kicks in the shin will be more effective than a user manual...

Jackson, Wyoming page, advertising apparantly for Cowboy Bar
Not sure what proper protocol would be for this... just remove it or should I report it somehow? For now, just removing that piece, not undoing whole entry.

{{helpme}} I got a bio warning from user:Paste on a page I added upon following a link to a missing page. The new page is for an elementary school... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skull_Valley_Elementary_School_District and it appears that there is an ongoing project to fill in the gaps of the list by building out this area... so I really don't understand the bio warning. What wiki solecism have I committed?--Pearrari 22:06, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
- There is currently some debate on Wikipedia about whether all schools deserve their own articles. The person who warned you probably thought that you were creating this article because you went to that school. In any case, I would expect that article to get deleted very quickly. You may want to read Wikipedia:Notability.

Skull Valley Elementary School District
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Skull Valley Elementary School District, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. Rjd0060 22:43, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
Well I don't know why this school is not notable, but the many many schools that have wikipedia pages are notable. As a matter of fact, I never attend the school. My family is from this community, though, and my parents live there now.--Pearrari 00:09, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
George Phippen
I removed Phippen because I don't know anything about him and there's nothing demonstrating that he was a real person who was associated with Skull Valley and who fulfilled Wikipedia's notability guidelines. Some people automatically do this (for example, members of Congress and Major League Baseball players), but not artists. If you want to have him listed, create an article for him that demonstrates his notability by references to independent outside sources. If you do that, please restore him to Skull Valley: there's no reason not to list someone that deserves to be listed. Nyttend 16:41, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- Good job on all you found! Most small communities such as Skull Valley can't have population listed, because nobody estimates it for them; the school district estimate is certainly significant. Nyttend 00:31, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Adoption
Hi, I see that you are interested in being adopted. I'm LAX and I have been editing Wikipedia for about 5 months with over 5,000 contributions. I mainly edit Professional wrestling articles, and revert vandalism. If you are interested in me adopting you then get back to me anytime. Cheers! -- LAX 02:44, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- That's alright if you don't like pro wrestling, I was just telling you a little about myself. As for the way "Adoption" works, see WP:ADOPT. -- LAX 04:08, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- I've nominated the article for deletion here. Yes, basically all we do is communicate, and when you feel you are ready to move on by yourself, you may "graduate" from my Adoption program. -- Latin American X-Change 03:31, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- I believe you should warn them every time, regardless of whether it's an IP or a signed in user. You should warn them every time because if they continue to vandalize Wikipedia after your recent warning, you may give them a higher level warning (i.e. {{subst:uw-vandalism2}} → {{subst:uw-vandalism3}}). Once you reach level 4im, Only warning, you may stop giving them warnings, and if they still continue even after your only warning, you may report the user/IP to WP:AIV (Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism) to have the user taken care of by admins. -- LAX 02:06, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- Great job on reverting vandalism, but when using warning templates on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:uw-test1}} instead of {{uw-test1}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Thank you. -- LAX 11:05, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, coach. That's helpful... What a lot to digest in Wikipedia:Template substitution!--Pearrari (talk) 13:18, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Re: Barnstar
I tagged along for 15 minutes yesterday. What a ride watching you revert vandalism. Applause! Are you just fast, or are you using some kind of automation? Just trying to pick up some pointers. Pearrari (talk) 15:16, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- A bit of both, I suppose. I am fortunate enough to have a fast Internet connection at the moment, which definitely helps. I also have many months' experience of reading diffs, so I can spot vandalism quite quickly. I am also using software which speeds things up, though it's not automated as such. It tries to pick out revisions which are likely to be vandalism and show them to me first, and it also decides when and how to warn and report users, saving me the bother of doing that myself. The decision of whether or not to revert a revision, however, always rests with me and always will. I am still not as fast as DerHexer, or the bot, or the other bot. Thanks – Gurch 01:39, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Philly meetup 6
I'm working on planning the sixth Philadelphia meetup, and I'm looking for ideas and votes about the place and location. Since you RSVP'd for the last one I thought you might like to weigh in. Thanks, and I hope to see you there! --TexasDex ★ 22:52, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
Was following your lead (re: banking links)
Actually, was following your lead, double checked to make sure the IP didn't hit other pages after seeing a reversion from you. -- Greyed (talk) 22:01, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
How to remove your tag
Pearrari:
I see you tagged the "Deen Kemsley" article for "self promotion." Since I am new to Wikipedia, what must I do to get the tag removed? Do I need to get someone else to submit the information?
Also, were you the one who added the tag about needing sources? If so, what sources/cites do you require?
Thanks,
Deen —Preceding unsigned comment added by Deenkemsley (talk • contribs) 18:31, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
How delete the article you tagged?
Pearrari:
Given the tags and all, is there an easy way for me to just delete the "Deen Kemsley" article and then start over doing it right by having the University write then article about me?

Disposable income
Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Disposable/Discretionary income, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. This is especially important when dealing with biographies of living people, but applies to all Wikipedia articles. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add your original reference to the article. Thank you. --Busy Stubber (talk) 21:34, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Pearrari, I see you're new, so this is mainly just a reminder that when you add a statement such as "This ratio gives a richer view of capacity to repay than the debt-to-income ratio in the case where the applicant has a lot of debt, but also a lot of income, such that the % of available income may be smaller than normal standards would allow, but the actual dollars are still large" -- give your source so that it can be verified. Happy editing! --Busy Stubber (talk) 21:34, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Activity survey for members of WikiProject Companies
- placed on talk pages of all participants
I wanted to get a notion of the level of activity of people who are members of WikiProject Companies with respect to monitoring the WikiProject Talk page and participating in discussions of interest and/or responding to requests for input.
Could you please visit Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Companies/Member information#2008 Quarter 1 (Jan-Mar): Talk page monitoring survey and adding yourself to one or more of the several groupings listed?
Thanks for your assistance.

A belated welcome to Wikipedia:WikiProject Cooperatives
Thanks for joining. You've noticed I'm sure that the activity level is pretty low. I'm involved in getting several other projects started/restarted right now, but still interested in this area and edit in it when I can. Let me know if you come up with any pressing issues for the Project.--Doug.(talk • contribs) 03:30, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Metavante entry
Pearrari,
Thank you for your guidance. I don't know how to get another source to verify what is going on at Metavante. It's a classic "bait & switch" but no one is going to admit it. Any advice you have on this matter will be appreciated.
Regards,

Conflict of Interest
As I read the COI information you cited, I'm struck by the fact that your contribution to any article on Symitar and/or Jack Henry & Associates poses just as much of a COI as any contribution I might make, given your former employment by a Symitar competitor. Also, interestingly, the COI page also makes note of Wikipedia's goal, which is to provide neutral and verifiable information. Clearly the information you provided under Criticism and Controversy in the Jack Henry & Associates article is neither neutral nor verifiable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jsanfilippo (talk • contribs) 23:01, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
RE: Acceptably verified?
I'm sorry, I'm kind of confused. O_o Are you asking me whether or not the source is reliable? --LAX 22:02, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
