Hi,
Thanks for your attention to the Ann Callaway article. I started it under Ann Marie Callaway by analogy with the John Adams page , which was formerly under John Coolidge Adams (a name he never uses). In view of the discussion [[1]], it seems preferable to move her to Ann Callaway with a dab line at the top. As an administrator, would you agree to do this? All the best, Sparafucil (talk) 10:16, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Sure, that makes sense. Done. --Paul A (talk) 02:14, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

For fixing up the new articles on Addie L. Wyatt‎, Alison Cheek‎, and Kathleen Byerly. I only had time to create them and not time to fix them up. Remember (talk) 15:42, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Elisabeth Omilami

Paul A I am new to wiki but I believe that you have created a page for me. I really appreciate that but I would like to make a few edits and have you watch my page for me as well as create one for my husband Afemo Omilami (actor) since I am not familiar with the process. How can I communicate with you? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eomilami (talkcontribs) 23:05, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

In point of fact, the page was created by a Wikipedian who goes by the name of Mobbb. My own contribution was only some copy-editing and layout tidying that I happened to notice the page needed; I have to admit that it was the first I'd ever heard of Elisabeth Omilami. Perhaps Mobbb would be a better person to talk to.
Another alternative, if you have specific suggestions about the article, is to leave a message on the article's discussion page.
(I should also point out that Wikipedia generally discourages people from taking an active role in creating or editing pages about subjects close to their hearts, such as themselves or their family members. You can read more about that here and here.)

I ported Template:DSyk to EN

I ported Template:DSyk to EN. Since I do not know German I left the notes of the template untranslated. If you want, please translate the notes. :) WhisperToMe (talk) 04:10, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

I expect that's a good thing, but I'm not sure why you're telling me about it. --Paul A (talk) 04:13, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

The award delete was an editing error-I was adding references (being helpful) and BY MISTAKE, the award was deleted. So be polite when making changes. Saying "doesn't make sense" in edit summary is not very nice when all you had to do was make the change and write something like "added award". Thought for the day: Just Eat Regular Kibble.DownUndr (talk) 17:29, 28 February 2008 (UTC)DownUndr

I'm sorry to have offended you. I didn't mean to; I was only trying to explain the reason for my edit. Will you accept that you're not the only person on Wikipedia capable of making mistakes? --Paul A (talk) 00:30, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Will you accept that you not the only person on Wikipedia capable of being sarcastic? Enjoy the kibble.DownUndr (talk) 17:10, 12 March 2008 (UTC)DownUndr
Are you saying that you were being sarcastic? Because I wasn't. --Paul A (talk) 00:09, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

One or more articles you’ve been involved in editing (Melter, Ringer (comics), Ego the Living Planet, or others) has been nominated for deletion. If you feel you can make contributions to the article to improve it and make it worth keeping, please do so. BOZ (talk) 15:19, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Looking for Wikipedians for a User Study

Hello. I am a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota. We are conducting research on ways to engage content experts on Wikipedia. Previously, Wikipedia started the Adopt-a-User program to allow new users to get to know seasoned Wikipedia editors. We are interested in learning more about how this type of relationship works. Based on your editing record on Wikipedia, we thought you might be interested in participating. If chosen to participate, you will be compensated for your time. We estimate that most participants will spend an hour (over two weeks on your own time and from your own computer) on the study. To learn more or to sign up contact KATPA at CS dot UMN dot EDU or User:KatherinePanciera/WPMentoring. Thanks. KatherinePanciera (talk) 01:38, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Answer Me This!

hello Paul,

Answer Me This! is my podcast, but when I found out someone had done us a wikipedia entry and got the name wrong, I didn't know to change it - so thankyou very much for sorting it out! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.106.81.60 (talk) 10:54, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

re:stub categories

Hi. Yes, I was seeing how the Hotcat function (under preferences) worked. I'm aware of how to add stub cats, and was experiementing with that function, which to be honest, is complete balls! Thanks anyway. Lugnuts (talk) 07:12, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

The article has two section. One for plot summary other for Main points. Don't you think the main points constitute original research. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 04:21, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Tom Hudson

Thanks for looking after the Categories I added. But, I am wondering why you deleted the England flag from the bio box? CubBC (talk) 02:39, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

"The use of flag icons in the birth and death information in a biographical article's introduction and/or infobox is forbidden". So says the Wikipedia Manual of Style. --Paul A (talk) 05:39, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the info. The MoS is such a big article to read, and then to remember all the details!! I hadn't got to the part on flags. Are there people who do nothing more than edit these pages, I mean, no new content? CubBC (talk) 20:04, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi - I see you have recently created one or more new stub types. As it states at Wikipedia:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Wikipedia, it is recommended that new stub types are proposed prior to creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals. This is partly in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it is otherwise correctly formatted, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies, and partly so that those who regularly deal with stub articles know what stub types are likely to need re-sorting soon. Your new stub type is currently listed at WP:WSS/D - please feel free to make any comments there as to any rationale for this stub type. And please, in future, consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 03:39, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I don't read Portuguese. Many people on the English-language Wikipedia don't, you know. --Paul A (talk) 01:08, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Ok! I translate: Your alteration of the page of Pilar Homem de Melo is considered vandalism, because her source is the Wikipedia in the Portuguese language that has not any right of author, and not the Myspace!!! THANK YOU!!!Saocarlos (talk) 04:12, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Saocarlos, there is something that perhaps you have not noticed: The text that I deleted is not your text. It is the text that was added on February 11 by the anonymous user 89.214.61.153.
I do not dispute that your text is from the Portuguese Wikipedia page; even without reading Portuguese, I can see the resemblance. But this text that the anonymous user added, it really is the same as the text on the MySpace page. --Paul A (talk) 04:48, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Paul A, the Myspace of Pilar Homem de Melo was done in 2 February but the text was included only in the beginning of March. It was copied of the English Wikipedia and not the opposite. Thank you, my friend for your attention. Sincerely,Saocarlos (talk) 17:46, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Book categories

Did you ever get a conclusion over how to categorise books? I was trying to categorise a book, was wondering how it was supposed to be organised, and saw your comment on the Books by author talk page. My initial reaction is that a category titled 'books by author' would contain anything which has ever appeared in a printed form of leaves sandwiched in a cover, by that author. I would reasonably expect that such a category would exist for every writer, where all his works would appear together. Anyhow, was there a solution? Sandpiper (talk) 19:31, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

No, there was never what I would call a satisfactory solution, more a point where I gave up and left the guy to it, because although I still didn't agree with him I figured I wouldn't get anywhere arguing.
For what it's worth, the explanation I was given[broken anchor] was that novels are not books, they are things which are sometimes delivered in the form of books - and are sometimes instead delivered in audio form, as magazine serials, online, or whatever - and so they don't belong in the books category. --Paul A (talk) 01:13, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

CfD nominations for coach categories

Category:Coaches by nationality, Category:Australian coaches, Category:Danish coaches, Category:English coaches, Category:French coaches, Category:German coaches, Category:Norwegian coaches, and Category:Polish coaches, which you created, have been nominated for renaming. If you would like to participate in the discussion, you are invited to add your comments at the category's entry on the Categories for discussion page. Thank you. – Good Ol’factory (talk) 23:29, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

BDC Article Edit

Thanks for the help on the citations; I was actually gonna do that today, but after seeing your contribution, I now have one less thing today. Thanks ^_^ Leonard^Bloom (talk) 14:56, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
