Hello, Patjuah, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

You may also want to complete the Wikipedia Adventure, an interactive tour that will help you learn the basics of editing Wikipedia. You can visit the Teahouse to ask questions or seek help.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Again, welcome!

Patjuah, I glanced at a couple of your drafts. They likely will be rejected, at least in their present form, unless you edit them to conform to the requirements set forth above. In particular, you have to write the articles in a neutral point of view, which means foregoing most of the adverbs and adjectives and describing subjects dispassionately and in an even-handed manner. You also must provide citations to external (third-party), independent, and reliable sources. In addition, you should not write articles about individuals with whom you are closely associated.
Best wishes in your editing, Kablammo (talk) 00:19, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello Patjuah, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Draft:Kula V. Fofana have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 18:26, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Neh Dukuly Tolbert

[edit]

Hello Patjuah,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Neh Dukuly Tolbert for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Ways to improve Neh Dukuly Tolbert

[edit]

Thanks for creating Neh Dukuly Tolbert.

A New Page Patroller SamHolt6 just tagged the page as having some issues to fix, and wrote this note for you:

Wikipedia and Wordpress are both self-published sources, and thus are not WP:RS

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can reply over here and ping me. Or, for broader editing help, you can talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mama Tormah Siah, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. A tag has been placed on Monah Pelham Youngblood requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.sheroesforum.com/registrant_profile.cfm?MUNAH%20PELHAM-YOUNGBLOOD&registration_id=95. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Blocked

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Athaenara 00:34, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

My apologies. My goal is not to advertise nor promote anyone via the Wikipedia platform. I am only looking to inform and provide meaningful content from my part of the world. I am very new to providing content here and my experience is as a journalist. Any violations of policy is purely unintentional. I have received the very useful feedback thus far to my articles and was prepared to make the appropriate edits as they were made available to me. Being new, I thought that by uploading my articles first to the sandbox, I could submit for review only a couple and received feedback to guide the rest of my articles. I did not expect all of them to be reviewed at one time and certainly didn't expect to be blocked in the process. I assumed the sandbox as where I could draft and save my articles prior to the review process (hence the submit for review button). I noted the edits and feedback as helpful guidance to improve my articles. Thanks for your consideration for an honest mistake. To prevent further misunderstanding, I guess will only use the sandbox after working through my initial articles with Wiki editors? Again it is not my intention to promote anyone, but in fact to provide accurate and meaningful content to support and expand on Wikipedia content. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Patjuah (talkcontribs) 01:20, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I would concur with Athaenara below. You seem to want to spread information- but Wikipedia is not just about spreading information. I don't think you are familiar enough with Wikipedia guidelines to create articles at this time. I would suggest that part of being unblocked will require you to agree to not create articles for a time(at least 6 months), review some of the materials I suggest below, and state what existing articles or topic areas you are interested in editing. I must decline your request at this time. 331dot (talk) 11:54, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • Sandboxes are visible to all users (although harder to find than regular encyclopedia articles) and as such are not immune from deletion processes. In at least some cases, your drafts appear to be copyright violations. Please understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not merely a forum to provide information. The subjects you were writing about may meet the biographies notability guidelines, but what you posted was basically the subject's resumes and not an encyclopedia article. If unblocked, I would strongly suggest that you read some of the introductory information for new users like Your First Article and maybe use the new user tutorial. I would ask you if you are associated with any of the subjects you have written about, such as being their PR person. 331dot (talk) 09:33, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Responding to user 331dot

[edit]

Thanks for your insights. Much appreciated! I’m not close to any of the subjects and am certainly not their PR person. Just trying to contribute to a platform I care about. Again, I’m very new on here and am still learning. I’ve been reading and familiarizing myself further with the rules and guidelines. When unblocked, my experience will be an improved and better one. Thanks for your consideration. Patjuah (talk) 09:51, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I would like Athaenara to comment on if there is anything they would like to see for an unblock. 331dot (talk) 10:44, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It would be more honest for this user to say s/he sees Wikipedia as a useful platform for disseminating information about people and subjects s/he cares about. This user cares about using the encyclopedia for his/her own purposes: more than two dozen unencyclopedic and promotional pages, not one encyclopedic edit to any article.
I don't think user Patjuah understands that this encyclopedia depends upon volunteers who "care about" contributing encyclopedic content, and that it suffers when people register accounts simply to use if for their own purposes. – Athaenara 11:44, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If this user follows my advice off-wiki, they should be showing up here soon with a better explanation of what they are trying to do and a bit of a mea culpa. If this is satisfactory, I would endorse an unblock on the very strict condition that they choose one article, and work on it in draftspace until it is accepted by an AfC reviewer, for the first few articles at least. I would be happy to mentor them for the first one. TheDragonFire (talk) 07:56, 18 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
