[edit]Hello, and thanks for your message. You said which I was actively working on. If you post text in article space, it will be assessed as it stands. If you don't want that to happen, you should write it as a draft.
Thank you for stating that you have no conflict of interest. It's easy to assume that she is you when you claim to know what she is thinking, she initially wanted to be an architect.
Note that standards on en-wiki are generally different and higher than in other European language wikipedias, the Dutch version would not have survived here.
PLease read the guidance below:
- When you write about a person, you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that they meet the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the person or an associated organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the person claims or interviewing them. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls.
- Your text was completely unsourced apart from the place and date of her birth.
- You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
- She played a key role in... she was one of the first to sell marks such as... Loppa played a role in Raf Simons' career... are promotional claims or opinions
- There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
- You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
- Your text is a copyright violation because, despite what you said, —all I've done is translate with attribution from the Dutch page— I can't see any acknowledgement of the Dutch source at all.
Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:16, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- I missed the edit summary, my apologies. Restored as draft, please improve it there Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:09, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- You're saying the Dutch version of the page would not be sufficient on English Wikipedia but I found Wikipedia:Notability (academics). It seems like being director of Polimoda for nine years grants her automatic inclusion in Wikipedia? https://www.polimoda.com/about/leadership/ Patientia1 (talk) 11:55, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for December 21
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page English. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. However, please do not use unreliable sources such as blogs, wikis, personal websites, and websites and publications with a poor reputation for checking the facts or with no editorial oversight. These sources may express views that are widely acknowledged as pushing a particular point-of-view, sometimes even extremist, being promotional in nature, or relying heavily on rumors and personal opinions. One of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable through reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. If you require further assistance, please look at Help:Menu/Editing Wikipedia, or ask at the Teahouse. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 12:15, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hello - I assume you're referencing the paper I cited which is hosted on wordpress. However, the site is actually published by the Royal College of Art which is reputable within the fashion industry. Patientia1 (talk) 12:22, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
- You're also citing a press release and some other unreliable stuff. I also object to changing the very common 'Big 4' to the decidedly rare 'Big 5' on that as well as other articles. MrOllie (talk) 12:30, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
