Prod removal and restoration
[edit]Regarding your restoration of the proposed deletion notice on History of our village malcha that was removed by the creator: as set out at WP:CONTESTED, "If anyone, including the article creator, removes a {{proposed deletion/dated}} tag from an article, do not replace it, even if the tag was apparently removed in bad faith. This excludes removals that are clearly not an objection to deletion, such as page blanking or obvious vandalism, and tags removed by banned users may be restored. If you still believe that the article needs to be deleted, or that the article should be deleted but with discussion, list it on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion." Your expressed concerns about the article are certainly reasonable ones, but PROD is intended to apply only to non-contentious deletions. Among other reasons for this, articles placed at AfD get more attention from other editors who might have access to reliable sources. Thanks for understanding. --Arxiloxos (talk) 16:07, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
- Further to the above, please note that another editor has now started Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/History of our village malcha. --Arxiloxos (talk) 16:30, 9 March 2014 (UTC)

I reverted an obvious personal attack that you made on someone else's talk page- definitely not a mistake. Passengerpigeon (talk) 09:54, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
Deppreciation of unprofessionalism
[edit]I have also found this on my articles as your tags for deletion seem to be there just to cause grief and are completely unprofessional. Yes and I do make up words- you are a disestablishmentariapersonalpropertalifuturazationnanist! From BTSDMU (talk) (contribs). :)
I was only following the Wikipedia policies. The articles I flagged for deletion were about non-notable subjects and had been speedily deleted before by other editors. Passengerpigeon (talk) 19:17, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
How to index the Sawansukha Jewellers page in WIKI (message posted in the archive by mistake)
[edit]Please let me know the process. Rajuseoindia (talk) (contribs)
Please clarify what you mean by "index the page in WIKI". Also, please post messages on my current talkpage, and sign them with 4 tildes (I had to move your message out of my talk page archive and sign it manually). Passengerpigeon (talk) 01:41, 29 March 2014 (UTC)

Steelness7's message (posted without a heading)
[edit]Greetings Passengerpigeon
I've recently written an article about S. Samuel Shermis. The article has been deleted due to lack of references. The truth is I got that information by travelling 2000 miles to sit down and talk with my 80 year old father about his career. It was my stated purpose for the trip, and worth the 5 days on the road it takes to get from Humboldt county, CA to Bloomington, Indiana. All the information was given first hand, and is straight from the horses's mouth.
I am having problems finding anything that states any of the information in a way that can be referenced. Perhaps we can just state somewhere it was information acquired in an interview?
Joe Shermis Steelness7 (talk) 02:03, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
Hello Steelness7,
Unfortunately, the act of driving 2,000 miles (3,200 km) to interview your father and posting the information on Wikipedia is considered to be original research and is not allowed under Wikipedia policy. The reason for this is simple: the information is very hard to verify, as any editor who doubted the verifiability of the information would have to go to Indiana themselves and track down the person in question rather than clicking on a link (for an online source) or going to their local library (for an ISBN number source). Wikipedia's notability guidelines state that somebody must be famous (or notorious) enough to be written about in one (or preferably more) reliable media outlets. Examples of reliable media outlets include:
•Online news sites (such as the Huffington Post)
•Physical newspapers (such as the New York times)
Please note that newspapers must credibly indicate the notability of the person in question rather than just mentioning their name (such as in relation to an interview they took part in).
The following sources are not considered to be reliable:
•Facebook/LinkedIn/Twitter/BBS/Forum ETC. profiles, as anybody can create one for themselves
•Lists of people or other sources which mention people regardless of their notability (such as online phonebooks, gazetteers, census records or school enrollment lists). Passengerpigeon (talk) 05:18, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. EvergreenFir (talk) 20:41, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
Why is this? I didn't write a fake article there (or anywhere). Passengerpigeon (talk) 22:19, 29 April 2014 (UTC)- Oh, I see. I created the page with a welcome template and the IP posted the fake article in a later revision. Why did you warn me and not 208.54.40.144? Passengerpigeon (talk) 22:28, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- Oh I'm sorry about that. Twinkle automatically notifies the page creator when you tag CSD with it. My bad. EvergreenFir (talk) 00:25, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
