Hello Pancakefarm. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Pancakefarm. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Pancakefarm|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. You state that you are the company chairman, which is almost a disclosure. Please do the formal element too. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:19, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I see you have stepped down as chair. That does leave WP:COI with a different declaration, less you are connected, even broadly, with the company now, in a manner which creates a reward between it and you. A simple declaration will suffice, but please do retain your personal privacy. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:32, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia Commons may not hold it. However, under the doctrine of Fair Use, Wikipedia may, but only with an accepted article. So you can deal with that issue later assuming future (likely) acceptance with BBC as a reference. Yes, it is pedantic.

Good choice using Robust Boats. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:26, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your feedback so far, as you can probably tell this is my first attempt a creating an article.
Logo has been removed.
I will remove direct links and place them under the citations/references and submit again over the weekend.
I have amended my profile page to no longer show that I am the Chairman of the company, I will also do what I can address potential COI regarding financial interest, any guidance here would be appreciated, we run as a not for profit community interest and none of the board of directors receive any financial reward and we are asset locked to a charity in the event that the company is dissolved.
This is somewhat overwhelming, but a learning curve, so thanks for your support. Pancakefarm (talk) 22:31, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I understand your role. I engage with similar charities, one of whom owns a Robust boat and a sailing club who also own one. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:33, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi TimTrent,
Robust boats are great, have you been on any of their boats. I have to go know, get some rest as we are laying the boat up for the winter tomorrow morning. So edits will be made over the weekend.
Cheers again for your help! Pancakefarm (talk) 22:38, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is no deadline here, edits can be made when you wish. I'm happy to give you such guidance as I am able, so I suggest you might work with rather than just submit the draft. A reviewer's role is to accept any draft whcih we think has a better than 50% chance of surviving an immediate deletion process. The fewer things to criticise the better the chances. ALL depends on references:
We require references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS please. See WP:42. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the topic is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today.
I am very used to the one at https://www.dartsailability.org/our-fleet (scroll down until you see a large aluminium craft) whch has a load carrying deck on a planing hull. At my sailing club in the midlands we have a buoy lifting (once self powered) barge, with central well and derrick
Message me on my user talk page when ready and we'll work together. I have a busy weekend so am unlikely to be online, potentially until Tuesday. May the laying up go well. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:48, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
