If you want to become a member you can add your username here. In my experience there isn't that much difference between "being a member of the Electronic Music WikiProject" and just "being someone who edits electronic music articles," but I've used it as a place to ask questions and get other people to help with articles I'm working on (by listing them here). Two etiquette things: you should put new comments at the bottom of a talk page, not the top, and you should sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). Re: deletion of MJRC page

I'm getting to know the ropes, so thank you for your patience! My understanding is that if a quotation is cited, there is no copyright infringment. I'm not really sure what I did wrong, and now because the page is deleted, I can't even see what was there. But I know there was a citation! hey about your message on my talk page concerning this article, not only did I create the article but I added the DB tag. Camp Hermosa entry deleted

Hello. You deleted the Camp Hermosa page today. In my opinion, it wasn't blatant advertising for a product or service. I added the hangon, and made a couple of changes, but it was deleted anyway. I guess I thought I might get some message of explanation, since I'm obviously not selling porn or viagra. It was just an article indicating where the camp is, with its mission statement, adn a link to the camp. It's not a commercial business or product.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have made previous anonymous entries on other things in Wikipedia, but I created that username specifically to work on the camp information here. I suppose when I see my local bus company has info here, it makes as much sense for people who are interested in the camp to see some info here. Not to be rude but I don't really understand what you're asking. In theory every wikipedia article has to be about a subject that's sufficiently notable; articles that can't meet that standard are supposed to get deleted and usually are. Well, here's the reason the page was deleted:

" It is a page created primarily to disparage its subject or a biography of a living person that is controversial in tone and unsourced, where there is no neutral point of view version in the history to revert to (CSD G10)."

I felt like this described the article because it was repeating a lot of harsh allegations without any sources. Thus, "controversial in tone and unsourced." To be fair it attributed those allegations to other people rather than just stating them as fact, but it still just seemed really dodgy to me. I'm sorry about the message I left on your talk page; it's a form letter that's not really that relevant in this situation. I should have left a more useful message, but you know, we're all volunteers here. I can't really offer you any advice about the article other than to read (or at least skim) WP:BLP and wikipedia's notability guidelines for people, and to work on it offline or in "userspace" if you don't want to worry about it getting deleted before you're done.--P4k 19:13, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the response. I guess I don't understand what it was that I wrote that was "harsh allegations". Every piece of evidence (what little I had already added) was sourced from In Defense of Animals and Marilyn Carroll's biography. If you are saying this is an attack page because I'm writing about someone specific, I have found many many researchers that have Wikipedia pages. "harsh allegations" = the long list of horrible experiments she's allegedly performed at the end of the article. I don't remember the text of the article exactly so maybe all that stuff was attributed to In Defense of Animals; if so then you're right, you did have a source. I don't really think that makes the article OK, but then I never saw the finished version so I could be wrong. Many people have wikipedia pages who shouldn't. You can ask the admin who deleted the article (in this case User:JodyB) or another admin to see the text of it; I don't know if they usually grant those requests but I think they do.--P4k 00:24, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

What I added at the end was what the primates have gone through according to Marilyn Carroll in research articles she published. I do agree that it is horrible but I didn't make it up. Well I was about to say that it's actually the other way round, i.e. grime is an offshoot of dubstep, but the second clause is spot on at least. By the way, have you seen this? :D

Well, the timeline is a bit distorted because grime rose to popularity in a matter of a few months, whereas dubstep took 5 or 6 years. It's definitely true that because of grime, dubstep got so popular over here, but I think they went international roughly the same time. I did know dubstep first, but probably cos I grew up near Croydon.

Some of them. I think there are a lot of articles here that no one ever reads other than the people who edit them. I'm American; I don't know when they both arrived here but personally I remember that I was aware of Dizzee Rascal and Wiley before I'd heard of Dubstep. The deletion of the Go Paranoid entry.

I believe it was you who deleted my entry for Go Paranoid, or at least you're the one who put a comment on my talk page. I was wondering exactly what in the entry makes it up for deletion. I contribute to the blog, so therefore I am a primary source for the wikipedia article, and the external link takes visitors directly to the blog. This is to see if the wikipedia entry and the content of the blog don't conflict with each other.

If I need to put a source for every section of the wikipedia I will do that. However, the wiki entry is brand new and I'm still figuring out how to work the interface—that is why I didn't put sources up first since this was just a first pass at the article. The goparanoid.com website also gets updated itself as well, and much like my now delete wikipedia entry it is a work in progress.

If you read the message on your talk page, it says that the article was deleted because it didn't assert the significance (as measured by these criteria) of the website. Also, creating articles about your own website is a conflict of interest, but that's a seperate issue. If you want to work on the article without worrying about it being deleted, you should create a user subpage, although my guess is that in this case there's no way you could make an acceptable Wikipedia article about this topic.--P4k 01:19, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Cosmic disco music - space disco

You can't refer to this self-addressed pseudo-subgenre of danceable popular music form calling it "Cosmic music", because the same term has been used in Europe and USA since early 1970s as referring to a new form of space-themed instrumental music with spatial sonic features (see Space music). ^_^ . --Doktor Who 22:58, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

I saw that you added this reference to the Los Crudos article. Does that book mention Ebro playing drums with Charles Bronson? Charles Bronson (band) is up for deletion and I was wondering if there is a source that verifies these two bands had the same drummer? Hi P4k. Thanks for the advice. I will take this up with W. Marsh. How can I fix that first problem with the article that you said was fixable? Since it's a new company (as in, I launched it last Friday, 09/07/07), is there some way I can have a Wikipedia page still? I realize that there isn't yet any coverage for it in any verifiable independent well-respected publications or other information resources, but does that bar me from having a page altogether? It seems like it should not.

As the author of the most recent version of this page, I implore you to please read about the subject of the article, who was probably the single most well known individual on USENET. I don't know if you are old enough to remember this era, but I find the fact that there is no article on this character completely incomprehesible, and perhaps is due to the fact that the man has a large number of enemies who are active on WP. He is arguably the most prolific, most notable scientific crank in human history.
