Template

[edit]

Hi Oxford13, I am having some trouble with the above welcome template, which I recently created. I will leave it there for now, whilst someone with more expertise looks at it, as, at present, it will put all the text which is below into a blue box. If you want, feel free to remove the template, or you can just wait for it to be fixed. Alternatively, if you feel that having all your talk page text in blue looks good, please say... Regards, Matty.007 08:03, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:8000 Feet Over Hell cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 08:45, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Peter Constandelis. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. —teb728 t c 10:12, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Peter Constandelis. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing.

Information icon A tag has been placed on Peter Constandelis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you. --Forward Unto Dawn 12:08, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for message.

  • it did not provide adequate independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, or they will be deleted. Although you gave some references, they were not necessarily appropriate. The Agape ref is just a copy of the poem, doesn't support your claim that it's notable, just that it exists. The book is referenced to a site offering it for sale, obviously not independent.
  • I'm also not clear in what way you are claiming he is notable. As a historian, author, poet or entrepreneur, or all of them?
  • part of the article was a copyright violation. The description of the book is a close copy of text for which Amazon claims copyright. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: After decades of running varying businesses... most notably his real estate business... historically accurate and well documented... everything of interest... The book contains many black-and-white photographs... published many poems... His most notable poem... help educate youth of the power of our freedom... — and whose freedom?

I can sandbox the most recent version for you if you haven't kept a copy. If he is genuinely notable, there should be better sources than those given in your text. Even if he is, the language needs to be more neutral and entirely in your own words Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:10, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
