My RFA

[edit]

Hi OwenX/Archive 6, thanks for participating in my RfA discussion. Unfortunately, my fellow Wikipedians have decided at this time that I am not suitable to take on this additional responsibility, as the RfA failed with a result of 66/27/5 (71.0% support). If you voted in support of my request, thank you! If you decided to oppose me at this time, then I hope that if I do choose to reapply in the future, the effort I will make in the meantime to improve and expand my contributions to Wikipedia may persuade you to reconsider your position. All the best, Proto t c 10:31, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Babe Ruth

[edit]

I'm posting this message on you Talk Page either because you've contributed to the article Babe Ruth, or because you've edited other baseball or sports related articles. I've recently completed a revision of this article at Babe Ruth/rewrite. If you have the time, I'd appreciated it if you'd compare the articles and leave any feedback you might have on the rewrite discussion page. I'd like to reach a consensus before makeing major changes to the main article. Thanks for your help. --djrobgordon 20:25, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Thank you. 71.112.12.93 04:12, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't play games with me. In this edit of yours you removed most of the text from the second paragraph, for no good reason. If you continue this way, you will be blocked from editing. Owen× 04:44, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
My removal was a good-faith (see WP:AGF) accidental effect as I tried to add more content. You blindly reverted, removing my addition. Please don't threaten me. You have neither cause nor authority to block me from editing. 71.112.12.93 06:07, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Your text removal may have been done in good faith, but your subsequent comment on my talk page was both dismissive and rude. Offensive and disruptive behaviour is, in and by itself, cause for blocking, and you will find out that I do have the authority to do so. Owen× 13:42, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

66.229.17.88

[edit]

User 66.229.17.88 added 'nonsense' to the Super Bowl page, by changing the Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl games to 50, wins 50, losses 0, and percentage as .sweet. You can see that at this link: [1]. I reverted the edit, but I thought you might like to know about this since I've seen that 66.229.17.88 has been blocked in the past. myselfalso 07:20, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

my monobook.js again

[edit]

Well, I'm back, and wondering if you could help me out again.(sorry) I would like to change the test messages to read out in this format:

Regarding your edits to article:

~~~~
Note the 2 blank lines above the message. The blanking and test1a warnings can be removed, I never use them. Could you explain how to do this to me? Thanks, Prodego talk 00:22, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Got it, thanks again! Prodego talk 01:39, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have it pretty much the way I want it except, I want 2 lines above the header, not one, and I can't figure out how to change that. And also, I want 1 line above the test message and 1 above the signature. While I was able to change the header text the way I wanted it, and remove the blanking and test1a messages, the adding of blank lines lines I don't understand, I think it involves the from_page part, but I dont know how to change that. Could you explain this? Thanks,
Female bodybuilding
[edit]
A bit of a dispute has arisen on the female bodybuilding page about including a particular site in the "external links" section. So far, there seem to be just two of us weighing in - one (me) wants to keep it, and the other wants to remove it. Both of us have posted our reasons on the talk page. There are a few things on which I was hoping we could get some administrator input:
1. My stance is that the link should stay in the article until a consensus is reached. The other guy has removed it twice already, announcing that it's removed "pending vote". This seems backwards, since the link in question has been in the article for at least six months.
2. There seems to be a disagreement on the interpretation of policies about linking to sites with commercial content. My stance is that some commercial content is OK, providing that there is a significant amount of free content that supplements the material in the article. The other guy seems to believe that no commercial content is acceptable.
3. Is calling for a "vote" on the discussion page the right way to go about deciding this?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, fbb_fan 16:01, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This media may be deleted.
Thanks for uploading Image:Nesher Malt beer.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use GFDL-self to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Hi, I see you deleted this article in response to my speedy deletion notice. Thanks, but.. could you restore the article? I have been discussing this with the author on the talk page and I think this needs to go to AfD given the author's objection. I expect that the AfD will result in the re-deletion of the page, but I want to give its author a fair chance to improve his article. Thanks, Gwernol 21:35, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply: I misread the deletion log. D'oh. I'm following up with Neutrality. Thanks for your help, Gwernol 21:45, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, sorry to return to this. I left Neutrality a message on his talk page, but have heard nothing back. Any chance you could help out with this. As you can see from the comments left on the article's talk page there is some support for undeleting this article and moving to AfD. Many thanks, Gwernol 23:21, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Beer Categories
[edit]
It has been suggested by User:BrianSmithson that the Beer and brewery categories should be renamed. The proposal has been supported by User:Syrthiss, and supported and expanded by myself. The notion is that the regional categories should follow the format of "Beer and breweries in Africa" /Europe/Asia/North America/South America/Oceania. "Brewers and breweries" could also be renamed "Beer and breweries by region". And all the countries should also be renamed (and merged if needed) as, for example, "Beer and breweries of Germany", "Beer and breweries of Britain", "Beer and breweries of Poland". The word in each case would be beer rather than beers to allow for general articles on beer culture in each region as well as individual beers.
Would you like to mediate on the upcoming argument between myself and User: Mirror Vax? He seems to me like an editor who's up for edit-warring and POV-pushing so it won't be easy unless an experienced wikipedian is present. He refuses to acknowledge my sources and continues to insist on his POV description of the events. Furthermore he keeps reverting all of my edits without giving any reason. I've already started a discussion in the talk page, but I doubt that he will ever participate (his last revert ignored my comments). Your help would be appreciated. Why do we have so few engineers as Wikipedians?
[edit]
I am trying to understand why there are so few Wikipedians who are graduate engineers. Once I get a grasp on that, perhaps I may be able to formulate some ideas on how to attract more experienced engineers to become Wikipedians. It would be very helpful if you would respond to these a few questions:
  • Are you a university graduate engineer?
  • Please indicate in which of these engineering disciplines you obtained your degree:
    1. Aeronautical or aerospace engineering
    2. Bioengineer or biological engineering
    3. Chemical engineering
    4. Civil engineering
    5. Electrical engineering
    6. Environmental engineering
    7. Mechanical engineering
    8. Petroleum engineering
    9. Other
  • In what year did you obtain your degree?
  • What attracted you to participate in Wikipedia?
Please respond on my User talk:mbeychok page. Or you may respond to me via Wikipedia's email which I have enabled on my User:mbeychok page.
If you would rather not respond at all, that's fine also. Regards, - mbeychok 04:28, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi OwenX, I suddenly remember you that you worked very hard to catch vandalism last year. So, How are you doing? In last year, I didn't have my ID in wikipedia, so I used IP. This ID I made in March, 3, 2006. Last time, I didn't know how to use Wikipedia, and anything about vandalism. So, Thanks for your advices in last year. Right now, I do really hard work to be administrator, so You became Wikipedia's administrator long time ago. I'm so glad that you came back to Wikipedia. I just remember Wikipedian Worker in last year. I used IP in last year. So, Some of them remember you. Anyways, Glad to see you again. I have one question about the way of becoming administrator of wikipedia because I want to become administrator of Wikipedia. Please Send Me message, and explain to me the way of becoming Wikipedia's administrator. Bye~!! Have a great time with Wikipedia. Daniel5127, 01:10, 8 May 2006(UTC)
Reminder + Suggestion
When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use  instead of test. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template.
Vandalism?
[edit]
Hi, Apparently you sent me a message about vandalising a page about Scotiabank and PC Financial but I don't know what you are talking about. I have registered this account on WikiPedia for a while now and haven't been using it until yesterday. Also, I have not visited whatever page that you are talking about. Please clarify this. You started posting on July 13--not yesterday--as you can clearly see here. About speedy deletion and hoaxes
[edit]
I noticed that you removed the speedy deletion tag I left on Banana Pod Spider. I am quoting this from the non-criteria section of the criteria for speedy deletion (emphasis added is mine):
  • Hoaxes: Articles that present unverifiable and probably false ideas, theories, or subjects. Occasionally these can be deleted as vandalism if the article is obviously ridiculous, but remotely plausible articles should be subjected to further scrutiny in a wider forum.
I believe that Banana Pod Spider falls into the loophole that I highlighted to flush obvious hoaxes down the bit bucket. First, no spider has a backbone. Second, if the animal in question had a backbone, it would go into the phylum Chordata because that phylum is reserved for all animals with a backbone. Third, there is no way one can chemically get phosphorus from potassium because the two are different elements as in the following quoted garbage from the hoax: "The spider has a special gland found in NO other animal known to man. It has a gland called the "lonomial gland". It is used for manipulating potassium, in two major functions. In the first, it uses potassium, and changes it's chemical structure to become phosphorus." One could use radioactivity to do the job, but that is physics, not chemistry. This is why I believe that this article ie not plausible at all, and therefore falls under CSD G3. Jesse Viviano 22:17, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Your background in arachnology and chemistry is obviously better than mine. However, the fact that you required 160 words to convince me that this is a hoax tells us that perhaps this isn't obvious vandalism, which is what CSD:G3 is really meant to handle. In any case, the 5-day Wikipedia:Proposed deletion process should take care of this. Owen× 23:06, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Speedy delete
[edit]
Hi, I saw you changed List of Italian/Italian American Superheroes and Villians into a redirect. Why not simply delete it? The article history doesn't have to be saved (since the other one was started by the same editor) and nothing linked to the article. Garion96 (talk) 17:27, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Duplicate articles are generally turned into a redirect--not deleted, unless they are an implausible typo, which is not the case here. Owen× 17:30, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Tnx for the reply. Duh, I did know that, just totally forgot it in this case. Probably because I couldn't (and still can't) imagine anyone searching for that article. :) Garion96 (talk)
Re: Hepatitis B in China
[edit]
Thanks so much for watching the going-ons with this article [3]. Yet I'd be interested to know why I am enjoined from editing this article, when my edits adhered entirely to an official Wikipedia guideline, while user:SchmuckyTheCat's didn't. — Instantnood 20:40, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The article is about the prevalence of a disease in a geographical region commonly known by the name "China". It has nothing to do with the government of that region or any other political aspects. Your edit war on that article served no useful purpose other than to make the article obfuscated and aggravate the other editors. If you wish to contest my ban, feel free to post on WP:AN/I. Owen× 20:47, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am afraid I don't agree. The WHO, as of one of the organs of the UN, and with its membership restricted to sovereign states, recognises the PRC as the representative of all China. Yet the WHO has no access to situation in the ROC except technically going through the PRC. Hong Kong and Macao keep in touch with the WHO on their own, except in occassions that only sovereign states can participate. For matters in the article unrelated to the WHO, everything mentioned in the article (situation, figures, etc.) are all about the PRC excluding Hong Kong and Macao (i.e. mainland China). The article is referring to the mainland Chinese population, and responses of and measures taken by the government of the PRC. As per the NPOV guideline, the PRC government should not be mentioned as the Chinese government, nor should China be used as synonymous to mainland China or PRC. — Instantnood 21:01, 29 July 2006 (UTC) (modified 21:48, 29 July 2006 (UTC))[reply]
[4] - Please be reminded that edits unrelated to any disagreement ([5] in this case) should never be disregarded. — Instantnood 21:08, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am not interested in sorting between POV and NPOV edits. I am here to stop you from engaging in edit wars, as per multiple ArbCom decisions. If the edit you mention is indeed unrelated to the dispute, then by all means feel free to suggest it to SchmuckyTheCat or any other editor, and they may restore it if they see fit to do so. Owen× 21:21, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It is very obvious what is and what is not related to the disagreement, and as a matter of fact I've already sorted that out [6] [7]. Even if it was not as obvious and was not already sorted out, it's not a matter whether you are interested to sort that out or not. As far as I know " [i]f [one] undo[es] legitimate, uncontroversial edits, such as by deliberately and recklessly inserting spelling errors, [she/he is] committing simple vandalism. " [8]. — Instantnood 21:48, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I moved both the definition and talk page to Wiktionary, per discussions. Please dont revert it back, in Wikipedia. Now, according to the instructions in Wiktionary, I need to delete the article in Wikipedia, but I don't know how. Can you help with this? jawesq 21:36, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop blanking the article and its Talk page; this is not how articles are moved to Wiktionary. You can read this to learn more. Owen× 22:42, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I followed the directions EXACTLY on how to do this. Please see the discussion page where I quoted from Transwiki. I am trying to figure out how to do the rest. If you can help, I would appreciate it. The tag had been on her longer than 10 days. Leave it, I dont' care. What you did was not helpful. Instructions on Moving to Wiktionary (trans-Wiki)
[edit]
In asnwer to your question, where you clearly did not believe me:
Transfer from main to transwiki
As there is currently no way of moving pages across wikis, the transfer must be done using cut and paste. If there is anything valuable on the talk page, this may be moved in the same way, though in many cases the talk may not be relevant to the wiki you are moving the article to. The original page may be deleted as soon as it has been moved to the transwiki area. You must enter in the log that the article has moved. The log can be found by going to transwiki which will be a redirect to the log page. The deletion log will also provide a record, and any transwiki article can be undeleted if the move was considered "out-of-process" or if someone requests undeletion (via Deletion review at en for example).
Page history
In order to adhere to the requirements of the GFDL, a record must be made of the original authors. If the original article had only one author, this can be done in the edit summary when the article is pasted into the new transwiki article. If a number of authors were involved, it may be preferable to copy the list of authors from the page history onto the new transwiki article's talk page. For an example of this, see Talk:Wikistress. A record of the original address of the article should also be made (again, in the edit summary or on the talk page) so that, if the history is required at any point, the page may be found and undeleted.
I am now trying to figure out how to record the Page History, before deleting the article, and am seeking help with this. Please be patient!jawesq 22:11, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
This was on the talk page. I quoted directly from Trans-Wiki. It said CUT AND PASTE, since there is no other way to do this. If that is not blanking, then please tell me how better to "cut and paste"?jawesq 22:52, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please help
[edit]
The Wiki Version is already entered in Wiktionary. I followed the format of Wiktionary. (There was a redirect to Wiktionary). I did not know there was a difference between deleting and cut and paste, since it seemed to be the same, given the instructions above. I did not know how to delete the article, though. I have spent two hours on this, and am getting very frustrated. How DO I do the contributor log? Right now, I have the article and the relevant talk page (see above, for not bringing over the whole talk page). I don't know how to do the contributor log. That was what I was trying to figure out. f you can help, I would much appreciate it.jawesq 22:59, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I will look at and paste the authors on the Wiktionary Talk page. What was frustrating is that I tried to follow the instructions step by step. And, I did, until I realized I could not delete the article.jawesq 23:05, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I checked, and the current version has 2 authors: me and KihOshk . If you would make the transfer, I would appreciate it.jawesq 23:11, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I would be glad to reword the instruction page, but I am still not sure now what a non-admin should do! What I would do now is (1) Create the entry in the location agreed on; (2)Locate an admin; (3) Ask him/her for help I doubt that is what we want, is it? jawesq 23:23, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks!
[edit]
Thank you for your help with this. The directions were very confusing, and I am glad you realize now that i was not vandalizing. I will look at the directions, and see if there is anything else that can help make it clearer. It would be very helpful if Wikipedia could change the software to allow for trans-Wiki moves!
If I was short, I apologize. It was frustrating, especially when two people (you and another) implied I was vandalizing. I copied the instructions from trans-Wiki on the other user's talkpage, and he finally said he didn't know what to do either. He created the link to Wiktionary, and that is where we left it until you came on. I was about ready to just hang it up and say to 'heck with it'. The instructions suggestion to look at "Wikistress" were prescient. jawesq 23:35, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome! No need to apologize; you followed those poorly-worded instructions to the letter. Don't get discouraged by all this--that's how we improve Wikipedia. We need more people like you around! Owen× 23:43, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you!  ;-) Now would you do me one more favor, please? Where is the link for trans-Wiki instructions again? It probably is in front of me somewhere, but I am tired and developed a headache from all this (and from trimming two very uncooperative dogs today) ! loljawesq 23:46, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I found it. It was in front of me. I added a couple of comments that hopefully will clarify. Please take a look to see what you think.jawesq 23:51, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I found a redirect that needs attention
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ambulance_chasing
Not sure what to do with this either. Would you help, please?jawesq 00:06, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Deleted (there was no history, so it was an easy choice). There are quite a few links to the original article, as you can see here. If you have the time and patience, you can change all occurences of ambulance chaser to ambulance chaser. Owen× 00:15, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You have been a huge help - thank you. I have changed all the links. Whew. There were quite a few.jawesq 01:05, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
thanks for blocking BobbyBoulders22
[edit]
Thanks! I and (I suspect many other users) have been spending the past 20-30 minutes reverting this person's vandalism from this account and from various AOL addresses. Again, thanks! --Tachikoma 00:20, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
About You
[edit]
We have something in common. Before I went to law school, I was an engineering manager in telecom. So yes, I agree with your statement about that.jawesq 01:08, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Another question (!)
[edit]
In editing the wikilinks for "ambulance chaser" I found an article Jim Shapiro that really needs deletion. I made an RfD, and one user said it is a candidate for 'speedy deletion'. Would you mind checking this to see if it is? jawesq 03:14, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
May I ask why you deleted my article?
[edit]
I made a nice little article about the Royal Noobs clan which has an interesting history and over 800 members from nations all overe the world.
May I ask why you deleted it after 1 minute? —Preceding unsigned comment added by SteveJT (talkcontribs)
A couple of days ago, you blocked this user for vandalism (one of the pages damaged was RMS Titanic, which I watch closely). Don't know if you notice, but the user has now done it again, as well as to Troy. The vandalism was reversed by a bot, but since you were involved, I thought you ought to know. Thanks! Akradecki 02:19, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just thought you'd like to know that this guy, who you've blocked twice, was back today, again vandalizing the Titanic entry. Maybe a permanent block this time? Akradecki 05:02, 16 August 2006 (UTC) Hmmm...just looking through his contribs, looks like he attacked you personally on his own userpage, but that comment was reverted by one of the bots as vandalism...now that's poetic justice! Fixin' my user page
[edit]
Owen! Long time no see! Has to have been six months or so since we've crossed paths. Anyway, just a quick note to say thanks for fixing my boneheaded error on my user page. I can't believe I screwed up my favorite poem like that. I was concentrating so much on the formatting that I got myself wrapped around the wheel on the content. Anyway -- good to see you still out and about. Thanks again. -- ShinmaWa(talk) 15:23, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]
This is the only warning you will receive. Your recent vandalism has shown you to be intent on doing harm to Wikipedia. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Owen× ☎
I have made an account (frestylr77) so that I could not be blamed for something like this, mainly because I have never edited or CHANGED anything in Wikipedia. NEVER. Yet before I log in, I get messages like this claiming that an Edit from my IP address was made. Is there anything I can do about this? Is it because I use Wiki through AOL? PLEASE HELP!!!
Sincerely, Frestylr77 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.163.100.70 (talkcontribs)
I'm glad you registered a username. Please be sure to log in when you post; you haven't made a single edit using this new username, including the note you left me. If you log in, you wouldn't receive warnings which were not intended for you. Owen× 00:07, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Owen, I made this article and I am deleting a portion of it that was non-neutral. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fudgenut (talkcontribs) 02:49, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi Owen. Even after your warning on this IP's talk page, it/he/she continues to make meaningless and vandalising edits, and it seems has now tarted making personal attacks on myself on the articles talk page also. I would very much appreciate it if you might have a word with this person or perhaps even consider a ban, as this is getting somewhat beyond a joke with it/him/her. 220.1.234.8 Contribs.
Hi
I just wanted to request that the article stay for a day. I just put it up for my friend's birthday and I will remove it as soon as she sees it. Thanks and I hope you understand. Is there anyway for the article to be not continuously tagged for deletion till then?
I am sorry. I realize it wasn't right of me. But isn't there any chance you could let it stay for a day. You have my word that I will remove it myself. I sincerely hope you will understand.
I am sorry for being such a jerk the reason why I deleted the pages was so that the changes that were made by other users doing vandlism would be removed also sorry for saying go to hell I am not going to use the account Shrek976 because I was behaving badly instead I will use the account Shrek979 so please do not block me okay I am sorry for being such a jerk will you forgive me if you do maybe we can be friends on wikipedia okay again I am very very very very very very very very very very very very sorry.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Shrek979 (talkcontribs)
...and all within the space of a few minutes. I'm pretty sure wiki has rules on circumventing bans, but time (or rather, an administrative action) shall tell. Crimsone 04:00, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
AOL block
[edit]
I was following up in VIP and I notice that you blocked an IP for 24 hours. I'm not sure if you saw, but that's a AOL address. We generally block those for much shorter periods. I won't undo the block but I'd ask you to shorten it, the user who made the edits won't have that IP for long, and others are probably sharing it. Thanks! Rx StrangeLove 01:25, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
True, in the past we avoided blocking AOL IPs for more than 15 minutes or so. But now that Bug-550 is fixed, and it is possible to block just anons from that IP without affecting registered users, there is no longer any excuse to allow those AOL vandals to enjoy this "safe harbour". Yes, occasionally a legitimate unregistered AOL user will get affected by such a block, but it has already been mentioned here that the requirement for AOL users to register is a very reasonable one. Owen× 01:36, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, anyone on that IP will be blocked, and the original editor will be on to a new IP so it does no good. The result is that we end up with a non-involved user on a blocked IP. We can encourage people to create accounts but shouldn't be forcing them. AGF on new users....Rx StrangeLove 01:42, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You convinced me. I shortened that block to time served (24 minutes). Owen× 01:48, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You dont have to block it for more thane five (5) minuts. Enyway we must protect the aicle full otherways I must make tousend of account and or this game I dont have time. Belive me this is for me not Funy but I can not finde another solution only to block all articel reletet to Serbia. I have a lot to do in my work at Wiki commons. If you wount to stop this game please work on maken a Kosovo intro to neutral part, the rest of the article is not importen beacos with time they are going to understande thate is not working with propagander and themself are going to keep a way fro souch thins. Till you let Kosovo intro in propagander version they are going to understande thate like "They are with us" I know how the Balkan peopel think (I am from there). Please contact with user PANONIA he is more objectiv then all others serbian users witch have a target to presant Kosovo als part of Serbia in every case.
Shrek 976
Owen X did you except my aplogy.I was off my medicine so please forgive me okay.Also if you blocked my other three accounts please unblock them. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Shrek976 (talkcontribs) 17:32, 10 September 2006 [VS] (UTC)
Apology accepted. However, please limit yourself to using just this account (Shrek976). The User:Shrek978 account was permanently blocked by another admin, and I will leave it that way. I'm not going to block User:Shrek977 and User:Shrek979 now, but if you use them again to vandalize or get around a block on your main account, all of them will be permanently blocked. Speedy Deletion
[edit]
I don't know how to make the article better, mayhap if you told me what was wrong on the talk page, we might get somewhere... But please, tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Mithraw 02:57, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There are many shorter pages here. How does this one not fit the bill? And how is it an attack page, I specifically added details that told of their popularity! How can that be attacking?
Mithraw 03:09, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
So because you merely don't think that because 50,000 people know who they are, it isn't worthy of an enciclopedia entry? Right, I would guess you've never even heard of this town, much less the two I am talking about, so how would you know how popular and important these two are?
Mithraw 03:09, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also, you feel rather high and mighty and delete my talk entries and also refuse to answer my questions. Great job, you really are an effective admin. /sarcasm 1. Why would you delete my talk page? If you didn't tell me that, but I suspect you did. 2. I would guess you've never even heard of this town [Conway], much less the two I am talking about, so how would you know how popular and important these two are? 3. How is this article important?
Can you cite any references? If those two are so famous, you should be able to provide some links to news articles, etc. about them. Owen× 14:27, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Froebel
[edit]
Fine you solve the problem them. The correct spelling in English is Froebel. Also the article was full of unreferenced nonsense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.135.56.150 (talkcontribs)
I never intended to refer to any of your edits as vandalism. If it appeared that I did, I appologize. I reverted your edits to this article because the AfD discussion for it is included in a group nomination. Again, I apologize for any misunderstanding. --דניאל ~ Danielrocks123 talk contribs Count 13:15, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough; "rvv" here usually means "revert vandalism" (see RVV), hence the misunderstanding. Anyway, no harm done. Owen× 14:45, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's my fault. I'm so used to reverting vandalism around here that I pretty much just automatically put rvv in my edit summary whenever I'm reverting a page. Sorry for the misunderstanding. --דניאל ~ Danielrocks123 talk contribs Count 17:14, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
what is wrong with mp3 animal sounds
[edit]
i am trying to put a page that contains mp3 animal sounds (MP3_Animal_Sounds). current 'animal sounds' page doesn't contain any sounds, just a bunch of links to animal pages. i want to create a single repository of animal sounds. please let me finish before you decide who lives and who dies.
--Mp3animalsounds 00:19, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It might also be helpful for you to read that Wikipedia is not a reposity of media files.
[edit]
wow. someone has decided that sound is less worthy that text (which some people have considered media too - remember Understanding Media, your are Canadian, eh?). what you say to a kid who wants to hear how heyena laughs - "sorry kid, cant do. you can read heyena, but not hear. go to google for that.". so much for pure collaborative effort of millions. i am sure you have your reasons, i just don't get them, so i leave you alone... for Christ sake, call animal sounds "vandalizing"!.. --Mp3animalsounds 01:14, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
