Speedy deletion nomination of The Wrecks
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on The Wrecks requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. signed, Rosguill talk 00:31, 12 May 2019 (UTC)
Project 305
[edit]Do you have any sources that indicate that I-305 is actually getting a name change? It looks to me like there are some changes coming and those changes are currently known as Project 305, but that it is nothing more than a project. It seems like a very unlikely name for a coaster. What are your sources?—JlACEer (talk) 17:08, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- In the future, please don't move pages hastily, as you did at Intimidator 305. Wikipedia is not a breaking news website that requires up-to-the-minute updates. As noted above, this name is obviously a temporary placeholder until Kings Dominion decides on a permanent name. Wikipedia can wait until then to rename the article. Please discuss any remaining concerns you may have on the article's talk page. Thank you. --GoneIn60 (talk) 21:22, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- The source used was RCDB, the same site that is already cited for almost all coaster's stats on this site. The parks website also did change the name from intimidator 305 to project 305 on the main page for the ride. OvertonAlex (talk) 09:22, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
- RCDB, just like Kings Dominion, has updated their "web" entry with this placeholder name. That doesn't mean the name change is permanent, nor does it mean it has widespread recognition. What matters more is the name that appears on the sign at the ride's entrance, within the ride's promotional marketing materials, and what it is predominantly called in a majority of reliable sources. To date, that is still Intimidator 305. Kings Dominion says more details are coming. Let's wait and see what those details are before we make any drastic changes on Wikipedia. It is way too early to start renaming and rewriting articles based on a couple web entries. If you disagree or would like to discuss further, it would be best to reply at the article's talk page (linked above) instead of replying here. --GoneIn60 (talk) 15:20, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
- RCDB's owner admits that one of his editors was a little trigger happy. It's not unusual for coaster projects to have code names prior to an official name or renaming. Every new coaster at Alton Towers started out as "Secret Weapon..." followed by a number. The page on KD's website does say "details are coming." The new name could be Project 305 but that seems like a very strange name for a coaster. We just need to wait and see what the forthcoming details are.—JlACEer (talk) 15:30, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
