[edit]Hello, I'm Donald Albury. I noticed that you recently removed content from Lake Highland Preparatory School without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. - Donald,
- We represent a group of alumni, former trustees, administrators, and family members of the founders that wanted us to make changes to the Wikipedia page because the current version does not accurately represent the history of LHPS. We have researched the history and documents of the school and have also interviewed students, teachers, and administrators that were there at the founding of the school in 1970. The history, as written by you or someone else, is invalid and defamatory. Our corrections were made simply to correct the errors. At the time of the schools founding many parents were looking for alternatives to the public school system and they are still doing that today. But to insinuate that LHPS was established for racial purposes is slanderous. The corrections that we will make are truthful. LHPS at it’s founding and throughout it’s history has always created a loving environment where students are taught to respect all races, colors and creeds. Student diversity has always been a part of LHPS’s DNA right from the beginning. The founders of the school only purchase Orlando Junior College in order to obtain the land and buildings so that they could start LHPS. Please read our edits and you will understand. Thank you. - I would encourage you to read WP:Verifiability, not truth and WP:No original research. — BillHPike (talk, contribs) 21:23, 15 April 2023 (UTC)
- Defamation and Slander are legal terms. Are you planning to sue Wikipedia? — Jacona (talk) 00:15, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
- Jacobs,
- No we are not interested in any litigation. We are only interested in correcting the history of Lake Highland Prepratory School. The current history as written does not match up with our research which also includes review of Lake Highlands formation documents, interviews with former students and trustees that we're at the schools at it's founding and in the early years.
- As an example, Lake Highland Preparatory School is not the same legal entity as Orlando Junior College. Much of the current historical information as currently written might pertain to Orlando Junior College but does not pertain to Lake Highland Preparatory School.
- Can you please help us edit so that we do not run afoul of any rules associated with the Wikipedia platform.
- We want to follow the rules. OurRepublicFirst (talk) 01:18, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
- To Jacona not Jacobs. Sorry for the typo. OurRepublicFirst (talk) 01:20, 16 April 2023 (UTC)

- We are only interested in correcting the history of Lake Highland Preparatory School. The current description is incorrect and has no factual basis to be written as it currently is written. That’s it. Why can’t we edit it? We have researched the history of Lake Highland and have factual knowledge relating the schools origin including valid documents and interviews and statements from individuals that we're actually at the school from it’s beginning. We don't know who wrote the current posting and are not interested in having a dispute. But our facts are correct and our motives are pure. OurRepublicFirst (talk) 00:59, 16 April 2023 (UTC)

- Bill,
- We don't understand. If something is written that might not be accurate how do you correct it or republish to reflect accuracy based on new research. OurRepublicFirst (talk) 01:27, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
- Bill, Why are our edits not considered useful contributions? OurRepublicFirst (talk) 01:33, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
- Bill, If as you stated “ Wikipedia is not the place to publish your WP:Original research about the school's history.” — BillHPike
- Then how was the current history written in the first place?
- Please explain. Thank you . OurRepublicFirst (talk) 01:31, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
- The article summarizes information from WP:Reliable Sources. For example, when the article say
[T]he chairman of the board of trustees, Joseph Guernsey, declined to comment when a reporter asked if the school was established to allow white parents to avoid racially integrated public schools.[1]
, the article cites a 1970 newspaper article. — BillHPike (talk, contribs) 01:39, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
