Conflict of interest declaration
[edit]In a discussion on declaring conflicts of interest, at least one experienced Wikipedian who I agree with on at least some issues has offered the opinion that I should declare the following conflicts of interest:[1]
- Ginny Montes - My first wife. I created the article in December, 2006. We separated in 1976 and divorced in 1979. She died in 1994. The Conflict of interest policy did not yet exist when I created the article. The relevant guideline was Vanity. I did note my relationship on the talk page. My only edit since 2010 has been to link her obit in The New York Times.
- Charles Donald Albury - My first cousin, once removed. I moved the page because I knew that, other than in official military use, he always went by his middle name, and many users would be likely to look for him using that middle name. After sourced dates in the article were changed here without citing a source, I found a more detailed source for his dates of assignment to units and posted on the talk page changes I though should be made to the article. After more than a year of no response to that post, I did add the content to the article.
- Bockscar - The plane he flew on the Nagasaki mission.
- John Algeo - My course advisor my junior year of college. He was on the advisory committee for my M.A. thesis and later published an article I wrote in American Speech while he was its editor.
- Alachua County Library District - Added content in December 2011 while employed part-time there as a library page. The Conflict of interest policy at the time did not restrict my editing about the library district, as I edited on my own time, and no one at the district knew about those edits.
- North Miami Senior High School - My high school. Most edits have been to revert problem edits and additions to Notable alumni for whom notability had not been established. I did add a bit about the early history of the school based on a source in my possession.
- Spanish River Community High School - My wife worked there until 2008. My edits have been reversions of problem edits and maintenance.
- Atlantic Community High School - My son was a student there. My edits have been reversions of problem edits and maintenance.
- Long Binh Post - I was stationed there 1968–1969. Most of my edits to that article are now in the history of Long Bình, Biên Hòa because of a poorly executed fork. I took three of the photos on the article page.
