Quote marks
[edit]Hello Osirisosiris. Please read WP:LQ for Wikipedia's standards for use of quotation marks inside or outside punctation:
Include terminal punctuation within the quotation marks only if it was present in the original material, and otherwise place it after the closing quotation mark.

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in The Ginger Man, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Betty Logan (talk) 13:22, 22 March 2018 (UTC)
- The issue of punctuation within quotations has already been raised with you by Kablammo above. Wikipedia uses logical quotation; as MOS:LQ explains, "...regardless of the variety of English in which they are written. Include terminal punctuation within the quotation marks only if it was present in the original material, and otherwise place it after the closing quotation mark." Unfortunately you have not responded to the editor above nor have you refrained from removing the logical quotation where it exists, so it is difficult to know whether you have read these messages or not. All your other grammatical fixes are good so it would be a shame if we had to block your account over a simple communication problem, so will you please reply to us and let us know you are reading these messages. Please do not use styles that are unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Bloomsday. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. Betty Logan (talk) 17:20, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
- User:Osirisosiris, if you won't respond to this complaint and agree to change your approach you are risking a block. Style issues have been a matter of hot dispute and there is little chance that people will let this go. I see you just made a new violation of MOS:LQ with this edit at Bloomsday (moving a comma inside the quotation marks). Please listen to the advice. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 18:12, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
- You've been reported at this ANI link. You can respond there if you wish. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 18:17, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
Mass violations of our style rules
[edit]{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. You have continued to edit while making no response to the ANI complaint. See this recent example of your continuing to move other punctuation inside quotation marks. If you don't understand the MOS:LQ rule, please ask for explanation. Since you are a high-volume editor, we need to stop this before you create too much work for others. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 13:52, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
Cops and Robbers
[edit]Thanks for your edits on Cops and Robbers (1973 film)! Do you have a source for the release of the soundtrack album? It would be nice if you could WP:CITE it, it saves the rest of us the trouble of trying to re-check it online :) You can use the Cite button on the editing toolbar to produce a nicely formatted reference.
