Please help with page nominated for deletion "Auad Raphael"

Hey there. I saw you made an edit on this page and it's now nominated for deletion. I've tried to change it but whoever nominated is on a mission. Please help if you can. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.206.70.40 (talk) 15:56, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

Unity of Command 2

The game has been formally announced by the developer, see: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2019/03/01/the-flare-path-fogbound/, https://www.pcgamer.com/unity-of-command-2-trailer-shows-new-3d-look/ and https://unityofcommand.net/blog/2019/02/28/developer-diary-20/. The AfD discussion you're citing is outdated, so I reverted your edit.141.138.39.142 (talk) 17:20, 1 March 2019 (UTC)

Being "announced" is irrelevant. When it comes out you may revert the edit. Until that time, the AfD takes precedence.Onel5969 TT me 17:46, 1 March 2019 (UTC)
Point taken. Can you explain why Cyberpunk 2077 article is up? The UoCII article was redirected because of WP:TOOSOON, not because of WP:Crystal.141.138.39.142 (talk) 18:03, 1 March 2019 (UTC)

Reinstating the article Pannonian Romance

Dear Onel5969,

I am recreated the article Pannonian Romance, in accordance to Wikipedia:Guide_to_deletion for several reasons and I intend to clean it up a bit, please do not revert back to a redirect. The deletion discussion reached no consensus, one editor was for deletion, two for keep, and three for redirecting, of the proposed redirections one was for Pannonia, one was for History of Romanian and one was for Keszthely culture. The first redirect was to History of Romanian but that was later changed to Keszthely culture. I disagree with both redirects, History of Romanian has very limited information on Pannonian Romance, and Keszthely culture omits the use of the language in other settlements in other parts of Pannonia, this was not a language that was used by just one single settlement. The editor who saw a consensus reached should have updated the redirect articles to include the information of the closed article. The editors that discussed if the article should be deleted, redirected or kept, had not contributed or had only contributed very little to the article. The main contributing editors of the article did not partake in the discussion. The counterpart to this article exists in five other languages Asturianu, Español, Français, Italiano and Latina. The article is missing some citations but it is not void of citations. --Alternative Transport (talk) 08:38, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi Alternative Transport - By doing that your action overturned the consensus of the discussion. Regardless of whether or not your personally feel there wasn't a consensus, the closing editor clearly did, and in reviewing the discussion, I would agree with them. The fact that an article on this topic exists in other Wikis is irrelevant. With the exception of one or two wikis, all other wikis have lower criteria for notability than English wiki does.Onel5969 TT me 13:43, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
Dear Onel5969, The previous discussion were not about the notability, but if it was properly cited and/or if it was speculation. Smaller and less notable dialects and historic languages have their own English Wikipedia article. The article was reinstated in 2009 and stayed up for 8 years. During that period numerous editors improved it and added citations. I will join the AfD discussion.Alternative Transport (talk) 15:01, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
Doesn't matter what the focus of the discussion was. It matters that consensus reached the decision that it should be a redirect.Onel5969 TT me 15:02, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

What We Must

I've read WP:NALBUM and I still don't understand why you've reverted my edition. As I'm beginner here, could you simply explain to me why Jaga Jazzist debut album is ok and my edtion of "What We Must" is not? Niegodzisie (talk) 22:36, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi Niegodzisie - WP is run by volunteers, so a lot of stuff gets put on here which doesn't really belong. Your argument is what is known as other stuff exists, and isn't really a strong argument most of the time. In fact, however, you are correct and there is very little difference between the stub you created and the other album, so I've redirected the other album as well. Now, that does not mean that neither album is not notable, simply that in both articles there is nothing which shows how it is notable, simply that it exists. For a discussion on notability, see WP:NALBUMS. Also, a couple of sections above, I go in-depth about the notability criteria for albums. Hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 17:16, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

Thanks. Now i understand. I need to find more reviews of these albums. Niegodzisie (talk) 19:21, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

Advice Needed

Hi there. I am kinda new here and I am trying to learn about Wikipedia standards of approval of an article. Recently I've been working with few draft to check my understanding and I'm a bit confused here. I tried to clean up this page by adding sources, infobox, proper structure that we follow on Wikipedia. The sources added were quite notable and authentic (Telegraaf, NU.nl). But for some reason it's been reverted back to draft. Just curious what more it needs to get approved. I've list of round about 10 dutch actors on which I would like to work. Thank you for your attention.Lunar Clock (talk) 14:49, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi Lunar Clock - There are two issues with the article, first, it does not appear that this actor meets WP:NACTOR, not having had significant roles in two notable productions. In this instance, I think it might be a case of WP:TOOSOON. His one significant role to date is in a film which might not meet WP's notability criteria. And having a significant role in a single episode of a series also probably doesn't qualify. While the sourcing is from reliable sources, they are little more than glorified press releases, announcing that so and so is in such and such production, so he doesn't appear to pass WP:GNG either. I notice that it was going through the AfC process, and after it had been declined, you got involved and made your changes. Then you simply moved it to the mainspace, rather than letting it be reviewed again. You probably should let it run through AfC after you do more work on it. Hope this helps.Onel5969 TT me 17:40, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
Really appreciate your help. I understand it now. I'll see what more can be added to improve. Thank you.Lunar Clock (talk) 01:45, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

NGHTCRWLRS

Hello, I am the writer of NGHTCRWLRS. WP:MOS does not apply to creative works; see ABBA. - NorthPark1417 (talk) 03:53, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi NorthPark1417 - Nice work on the articles. Can you point to the policy regarding creative works? ABBA is excluded not because they are a creative group, but because it is an Acronym. See MOS:CAPSACRS. Take a look at Pink (singer), while not the same case, similar thought process. I'll see if I can find a more concrete example for you, but one doesn't come to mind at the moment. If I do, I'll ping you.Onel5969 TT me 03:59, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
Okay NorthPark1417, take a look at Mstrkrft, but there are a few others which have the all caps. It's worth a question at the WP:TEAHOUSE. I'll post one there and let you know the answer. Onel5969 TT me 04:05, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
It seems to coincide with the application of {{lowercase title}}. I found other articles using all caps, as well. - NorthPark1417 (talk) 04:24, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
Okay, NorthPark1417, I've researched it, and several other editors have looked into it as well. There are quite a few guidelines and policies which deal with this. The primary ones are MOS:TITLE, WP:MOSTM, WP:BANDNAME, WP:NCCAPS and MOS:TITLECAPS. You can look at all of those, but the best example is in the Trademark guideline (MOSTM). There it gives the most clear guidance on the subject, pointing to Time magazine, which is stylized TIME, and to the band Kiss, which is stylized KISS. This latter one gives the clear understanding how to treat these band and album titles. 23:42, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
I see an issue using trademark since those are logo-based. The press writes about bands using all capitals, like you mentioned, PWRBTTM, 2DOPEBOYZ, whereas Kiss appears in print as Kiss. If a guideline and not a rule, we match the style the press uses, without change in formatting, like Queensrÿche or Old MacDonald. - NorthPark1417 (talk) 02:02, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
Nope. Sorry. If you want to WP:wikilawyer, go ahead. You'll lose. You're not looking at all the guidelines and policies. And with that, I'm out. Don't post on my page again, have no interest wasting any more time with you. Onel5969 TT me 02:09, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Rush songs

Hi, User:Bulletsaregone has been creating a lot of articles for Rush songs, some of which are at new titles for previously redirected articles (eg. Distant Early Warning (Rush Song) and Distant Early Warning (song)). In this specific example, I noticed you redirected the attempts to recreate the article at the proper title, which is why they may be trying to circumvent that by creating at a different title altogether. Anyway, after seeing a bunch of these being created of late, it makes me wonder if this editor and User:Danieleb82 are one and the same. They've returned numerous times with new user names, only to be blocked, and the focus is always on classic rock songs and albums. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 22:01, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars - Could be, but I don't see any of the articles where they overlap. They might be just a rabid fan. However, their editing seems to indicate a knowledge of WP might be from having had a different account earlier. I don't see enough to open an SPI, however.Onel5969 TT me 11:16, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Register of Qualified Genealogists suggested deletion

Thank you very much for reviewing the page but unfortunately you suggested it for deletion as it was promotional.

I wonder if I can pick your brains? Was it the content or style or both? This is my first wikipedia page and I am keen to get it right.

Thanks Clog13 (talk) 16:16, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi Clog13 - as the page has been deleted, I can't look at it, and I review quite a few pages. I'm sorry I don't remember the page specifically, but since an Admin deleted it, they agreed with my assessment. Creating neutral pages isn't as easy as some people think. In general if a page sounds like a promotional brochure for a company or organization, that's not a good sign. Pages should be factual and serve an encyclopedic purpose. I'm not sure if your article was more of a list of genealogists, or was about an organization with that name. Both have different sets of obstacles to watch out for a promotional tone. I'm going to guess it was about an organization. If that was the case, things like, when it was founded, who founded it, where it was founded would be appropriate. Talk about its growth in a non-peacock way would also be appropriate. For example, you might say, "From 1960 through 2000, the register saw growth of approximately 100%, from x to y. This was followed in the followed decade which showed an increase in the growth rate where it doubled in that single decade." As opposed to, the register grew at a wonderful rate from 1960 through 2000, which saw its membership double during that time. However the following decade saw explosive growth, doubling in only the next ten years."
Might I suggest if you want to create articles, you either go through the WP:Articles for Creation process, although you have to have lots of patience, since there is a large backlog, or you work in draftspace, and ask specific other editors to take a look and give you tips. Hope this helps, and welcome to Wikipedia. Onel5969 TT me 17:06, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

Rock Therapy (Stray Cats album)

Hi - it looks like you reviewed the page Rock Therapy (Stray Cats album) I created. It appears that the entire page has been deleted and the album entry just redirects back to Stray Cats. I cannot find an explanation why this was deleted - it was a major label release worldwide and is deserving of its own page. Let me know what happened. Thank you Threecardhighlow (talk) 13:51, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

Comviva et al.

Hi Onel5969. Thanks for fixing this. I should never do stuff just as I am going out. I realised immediately that I should have just reverted, but I had to leave and planned to fix it when I got back. The Comviva article was a blatant copyvio from here and similar press releases. The editor who created the fork has since reverted you and I've reverted them back to your version. Do you think we should bring this to AN? Even if a page move is warranted, it will need an admin to do it. Plus the copyvio should be rev deleted. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 06:36, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi Voceditenore - No worries. I am always reticent to bring stuff to ANI, and I don't think this warrants that yet. Obviously if that editor continues to make disruptive edits, we can begin sending vandalism warnings (if they continue to put copyvios onto WP), or disruptive editing warnings if they continue to attempt to create a page which is simply a fork of another article. They only have about a dozen edits, all to do with these two articles, and all within the last week. My guess is that they will simply go away. I've requested a revdel to handle the copyvio issue. Quite frankly, I don't know how the article should be titled. In my view this isn't a simple case of a company rebranding themselves. The press release which was copied, while undated, is from the Fall of 2013 (as evidenced by the upcoming event in October 2013), and in that, even though it's on the Comviva.com website, it refers to the company as Mahindra Comviva. Newer press releases have dropped the Mahindra, but I can't find any formal announcement that the company has officially changed its name. Even in the latest PR from January 2019, it has a link to www.mahindracomviva.com. If there is an impetus to move the page, I would suggest starting a move discussion. Onel5969 TT me 08:41, 13 March 2019 (UTC)
Me again. I was thinking more of AN rather ANI. I agree that it doesn't warrant ANI intervention yet, but with your rev del request, it doesn't need AN action either. As for the name change, I don't really care one way or another. However, the 2018 Annual Company Report still shows the name "Mahindra Comviva". Voceditenore (talk) 09:22, 13 March 2019 (UTC)
Sorry about that, I misread AN for ANI. And if their annual report still uses Mahindra, that pretty much settles the name change thing.Onel5969 TT me 10:16, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

How is the the reference not valid?

The page is about the history of WildSide by the rhythm guitarists Benny Rhynedance, he states:

"The idea was being considered to have WildSide open for VH on the tour, as long as we could get our album out soon. YES! This prospect was insane. Opening for Van Halen? Omg. It was happening! We had to finish the record first. Go, go, go! Well, I guess we didn’t finish our record in time. Van Halen picked up some new unheard of band called Alice In Chains who’s record had just come out, and took them out on tour."

How is the source not valid? Do you even know who WildSide are? --Nakreb88 (talk) 17:38, 15 March 2019 (UTC)

hi Nakreb88, Facebook, along with other social media sites like twitter, snapchat, etc. are never acceptable sources, as they are totally unreliable. YouTube is usually not reliable, but in rare circumstances may be. No, other than being a band, I don't know anything about Wildside. Nor do I have to. But I do suggest that if you continue to edit on WP, and I hope you do, that you familiarize yourself with its guidelines. The one in particular in this case would be WP:RS. Hello Onel5969,

News
Discussions of interest
  • Two elements of CSD G6 have been split into their own criteria: R4 for redirects in the "File:" namespace with the same name as a file or redirect at Wikimedia Commons (Discussion), and G14 for disambiguation pages which disambiguate zero pages, or have "(disambiguation)" in the title but disambiguate a single page (Discussion).
  • {{db-blankdraft}} was merged into G13 (Discussion)
  • A discussion recently closed with no consensus on whether to create a subject-specific notability guideline for theatrical plays.
  • There is an ongoing discussion on a proposal to create subject-specific notability guidelines for chemicals and organism taxa.
Reminders
  • NPR is not a binary keep / delete process. In many cases a redirect may be appropriate. The deletion policy and its associated guideline clearly emphasise that not all unsuitable articles must be deleted. Redirects are not contentious. See a classic example of the templates to use. More templates are listed at the R template index. Reviewers who are not aware, do please take this into consideration before PROD, CSD, and especially AfD because not even all admins are aware of such policies, and many NAC do not have a full knowledge of them.
NPP Tools Report
  • Superlinks – allows you to check an article's history, logs, talk page, NPP flowchart (on unpatrolled pages) and more without navigating away from the article itself.
  • copyvio-check – automatically checks the copyvio percentage of new pages in the background and displays this info with a link to the report in the 'info' panel of the Page curation toolbar.
  • The NPP flowchart now has clickable hyperlinks.

Thanks for the clarification. And now worries... I don't do a lot of prodding or speedying, and I forget that the page curation tool automatically marks them as reviewed, so if I don't manually click "unreviewed", it remains marked as reviewed. On the other hand, the PC tool also adds them automatically to my watchlist (or maybe that's in my preferences). So if any of those do get unprodded, I'm still following them. But you're right, I should be more careful.Onel5969 TT me 15:47, 20 March 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: ISCO (videogame developer)

Hello Onel5969. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of ISCO (videogame developer), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: developing notable games indicates significance. Thank you. SoWhy 15:10, 20 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi SoWhy - yes, I knew that, but there is no independent indication that that is the case. For example, ISCO is not mentioned on any of the articles for those notable games, nor are they mentioned on Data East's page, which includes a list of affiliated companies.Onel5969 TT me 15:36, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
Which is all well and good for AFD to argue but for A7 we should err on the side of caution, especially when it comes to games published 25-30 years ago where online sources might be non-existent. On a side note, Midnight Resistance for example contains a mention of ISCO since 2017. Also, here's a book mention I found by googling for both companies, which indicates that more discussion is definitely required. Regards SoWhy 15:57, 20 March 2019 (UTC)

It's nothing but promotional content. Very similar to the article which was deleted earlier today. Onel5969 TT me 01:56, 28 March 2019 (UTC)

I want to move a page

Hello,

NHN Entertainment, an online game and services provider, plans to change its name to NHN during a general meeting of stockholders scheduled for March. Once the meeting approves the motion, the firm will officially use the new name, which excludes "entertainment," in April.

For this reason, I want to move 'NHN Entertainment Corporation' page to 'NHN Corporation' page. Could you help moving the page?

The Queen of Sheba visits King Solomon

I've edit all information I could found about that painting. Please, can you control if the page could be complete? Thank you. --79.54.22.10 12:32, 28 March 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.54.22.10 (talk)

Question

Hi,

I have a question about the article for Government by Judiciary. Would the fact that this book has been cited over 2,000 times enough to establish its notability? See this. Futurist110 (talk) 17:09, 28 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi Futurist110 - You know, that's a good question. I've never encountered that before, so I don't know. My guess would be yes. However, having said that, it isn't one of the criteria brought up at WP:NBOOK. Let me post your question on that page's talk page and see what other editors say. Speedy deletion nomination of RFinder

Hi Onel5969, I must say I'm a bit confused by your nomination of RFinder for speedy deletion under G11, as the page was not intended to be advertising. I'm a ham radio operator (aka part of the Amateur Radio community), and RFinder is a very popular and widely used tool, and before this article there was no information about this service on Wikipedia. The Amateur Radio community is very large, and I feel this is a notable topic. I see that another user has removed the template, but if you still have concerns feel free to hit me back (please throw a {{talkback}} on my talk page so I'll see your reply). Thanks! —danhash (talk) 17:22, 28 March 2019 (UTC)

copyvio revdel

Hello, In the article Algae DNA barcoding, you have removed certain parts claiming that they are plagiarizing an article in PLoS ONE. PLoS ONE is the world's largest scientific journal and all publications in PLoS ONE are licensed under creative commons. In the publication of concern for this Wikipedia article it is described as: "This is an open-access article distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original author and source are credited.". If the article is cited (as in this entry), would it still be impossible to "closely paraphrase" the material, as you claim was done and was your reason for removing the text and ask for deletion of the revision?
