Tenacious D

[edit]

Thanks for joining the Tenacious D Wikiproject

I hope to see you there sometime

Tenacious D Fans 17:01, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your edit to Tenacious D about Chop Suey. Unfortunately, I had to revert it because we are trying to get Featured Article and you did not cite any sources. If they played it at a show you went to, it qualifies as WP:NOR and is not permitted. If you can find some citations for it, please add it back with the cites, but onto the Tenacious D's 2006-07 Tour page, not the main article. Sorry about this, but I hope to see you on the D pages again soon! Metao 15:21, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit to RuneScape

[edit]

Hello Onaga, and thank you for your contributions to RuneScape, the main article in the RuneScape series of articles. While your edits are greatly appreciated, they have had to be changed or removed, as they went into too much detail about the subject. A level of detail that assumes readers are already a player of RuneScape or have extensive knowledge of the subject is outside of Wikipedia's mandate and is often called fancruft by other editors. Some articles in the RuneScape series have even been deleted on the grounds of containing too much fancruft.

It is important to remember that:

In short, fancruft includes things like:

  • Pricing information
  • Quests, quest rewards, quest guides or instructions, or names of specific quests
  • Skill guides, instructions for how to use and perform a skill, or level requirements.
  • Lengthy, detailed descriptions of items, or even names of specific items.

How to avoid fancruft:

  • Instead of giving a specific price — which is subject to change anyway — state general facts without using game terminology. For example, instead of saying, "Rares sell for over 100 mil gp," say, "Certain discontinued items, or "rares", often sell for very large amounts of gold."
  • Do not list or explain specific quests, skills, or items.

Instead, use inline citations, linking to the relevant RuneScape knowledge base article.

Please do not be put off by this: RuneScape and related pages still need work! Also, your great knowledge of this subject is more than welcome at the RuneScape wiki, a version of Wikipedia devoted only to the topic of RuneScape, written for players, and going into a much higher level of detail.

You may also find it helpful to read:

Feel free to join in the discussion at the main RuneScape page or the RuneScape Task Force, part of WikiProject Massively multiplayer online games.

Happy editing!

Notability of Battle metal Genre

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Battle metal Genre, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Realkyhick 21:28, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:5546054114a6714944712l.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 16:36, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Fleeing From Gandhi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Fleeing From Gandhi, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. TeapotgeorgeTalk 21:23, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template:User nottingham high school, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Template:User nottingham high school and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Template:User nottingham high school during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Bulwersator (talk) 08:13, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
