Atari 2600 Pac-Man
[edit]Hello. I assume this is 69.181.155.54, if that is incorrect I apologize. In response to your comment in this edit summary, here is where the 6 week number came from: issue 40 of Next Generation Magazine (p 41) and Racing the Beam: The Atari Video Computer System By Nick Montfort, Ian Bogost.
I'm sure this constant back and forth is annoying, so I just want to say that I believe we both want the same thing: a good article about this topic. Unfortunately, Wikipedia does not make it exactly easy to accomplish that. Article content must comply with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The issues at hand deal with Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources. In short, truth is not the deciding factor in article content, verifiability by reliable sources is.
Admittedly, that sounds a bit backwards. But it is the best system Wikipedia can come up with. The editors here have no easily reliable way to verify identities and in turn reliability of expertise, so we have to rely on content provided by external sources. So I hope you don't take any of this personally. We're just trying to follow the rules.
That being said, if you are an ex-Atari employee, then I believe you could be a valuable resource in what we're trying to do here. Regardless, policies and guidelines must be followed. While we're on Wikipedia's playground, we have to play by its rules. I hope this can lead to a fruitful discussion. If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitant to ask. Collaboration is key to the success of Wikipedia. (Guyinblack25 talk 16:47, 25 May 2010 (UTC))
