[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Norfolk, Virginia, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 21:06, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
Recent edit reversion
[edit]In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.
I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.
I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 01:19, 12 January 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm CorbieVreccan. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Raleigh Croshaw, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave a message on article talk. Thank you. - CorbieVreccan ☊ ☼ 20:50, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
Hello, I'm CorbieVreccan. I noticed that you recently removed content from Joseph Croshaw without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on article talk. Thanks. - CorbieVreccan ☊ ☼ 20:52, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for April 14
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Uhtred of Galloway, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Fergus and Christina. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:12, 14 April 2021 (UTC)

[edit]August 2022
[edit]Please do not add or change content without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Celia Homeford (talk) 08:59, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- It would have been helpful if you had told me which article you are talking about. As it is I have no idea what information you are referring to or where I need to add sources. In future Please do not send such messages without also providing context. OldeSage (talk) 17:39, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
- By much tedious backtracking, I was able to find what article you were referring to. It would have been MUCH more helpful if you had just told me it was about Penda of Mercia and his children. Then I would not have had to spend hours looking for the article you messaged me about. Or perhaps you enjoy being enigmatic?
- I have added sources, hopefully you will consider The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, Bede, William of Malmesbury, and Florence of Worcester, as reliable sources.
- Considering that all but one of Penda's children have their own Wikipedia articles, I would have thought that their own Wikipedia article would have been 'source' enough. OldeSage (talk) 20:56, 15 August 2022 (UTC)

- I did not use Wikipedia as a source! Only meant that their own Wikipedia pages state sources OldeSage (talk) 02:01, 29 August 2022 (UTC)
