[edit]Hello, I'm Julietdeltalima. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Huntsville, Ontario, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Julietdeltalima (talk) 17:02, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content, as you did at Hornepayne, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Julietdeltalima (talk) 17:03, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by adding your personal analysis or synthesis into articles, as you did at Mount Mansfield, you may be blocked from editing. DonIago (talk) 01:33, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for October 8
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Steve Wallis, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Edson. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:23, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
Weather
[edit]When adding temperatures to Canadian articles you need to use Celsius. In fact almost everywhere outside of the United States uses Celsius. I removed the tables from Nunavut and the Northwest Territories as they were not properly sourced and were in Fahrenheit. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 20:28, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
- The best way to do the references is to link directly to the Environment Canada page for the community. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 15:49, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
Climate edits
[edit]Maybe your username tricked me, but i was surprised to find out you were a new user, as I've seen your name around here many times before while looking through climate tables.
The tables in your sandbox are beautiful. I've only found a few other people doing this sort of thing.
You're doing a lot of good work adding climate tables to articles like Blowing Rock and fixing errors in existing ones.
Let me know if you have any questions about weather or if you are frustrated. If I can't find help, I will look for someone who can.
Best regards, —Soap— 22:54, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

- This seems to be habitual. I recommend going to Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets and checking "Display links to disambiguation pages in orange" - it's very helpful. ~ Tom.Reding (talk ⋅dgaf) 12:14, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Categories on your user page
[edit]Hello. Please remove the article categories on your user page. They're meant to categorize articles only. See WP:USERNOCAT. Largoplazo (talk) 16:11, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- Absolutely. I will do that shortly. I was interested in seeing the source code for a country on Wikipedia to create a page for my fictional country for fun. I will remove all information related to Finland and move "Farrow View House" and "Kinland" to my sandbox. Thank you for letting me know. Old Hoar's Frost (talk) 16:26, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'm sorry if I came across more abruptly than I'd intended. Largoplazo (talk) 21:47, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- No worries. I did get scared for a minute but I had no ill intentions. I won't put already existing articles on my user page anymore even if it's just to see the source code. Old Hoar's Frost (talk) 02:30, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
- It isn't a problem if you do it just temporarily—except that you need to exclude the categories when you do, because including them has an impact outside of your user page. It causes your user page to show up in those categories, which is how I happened to come upon your page: my watchlist showed it being added to a category I follow. More about your home page
[edit]Now I see where those categories came from. You appear to have begun using your home page as a place to host an article about a country that you've made up, based on the existing article about Finland. There are certainly sites where pursuit of your own creative ventures is appropriate, but Wikipedia isn't one of them. See WP:UPNOT. Largoplazo (talk) 16:22, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- I replied to the message above. I will move them to my sandbox. Old Hoar's Frost (talk) 16:27, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
Use of Wikipedia for other means - May 2022
[edit]- This won't be surprising but it regards the fake article about a fictional country being created in one of your sandboxes, and possibly other sandbox content. I think i know exactly what's going on, and won't disclose it, but would ask if you're not making these edits to your userspace for the benefit of Wikipedia that you cease the activity. Wikipedia is not a web host and you can't have fake articles in your sandbox. Zindor (talk) 23:57, 14 May 2022 (UTC)
- I apologize. Despite being on Wikipedia for over 2 years now I still am a Novice and have much to learn. I created the Farrow House article as a gift for my grandmother which I printed out and framed for her. I created the Kinland article because my life has been extremely stressful and creating that helped me with my stress. I had no ill intentions and am sorry if I broke Wikipedia guidelines. I'll remove them from my "New Sandbox" and won't make anymore fake articles. I could try to find somewhere else to continue on my Kinland project. Maybe Google Docs or something but it just won't be the same. I appreciate you letting me know about the guidelines. Thank you. Old Hoar's Frost (talk) 03:48, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for your understanding. I sometimes write wikitext in text editors like Google Docs or LibreOffice, the only real issue i encounter is with apostrophes, they aren't the same as the one's here. I can see you like to use the visual editor however. If you'd like to make an article about a real place then we can help you with that at the Teahouse. I know you've had a rough time recently, but we are genuinely a friendly place and would happily help you out. I'd ask that you make some copies of your work that is in your alternative sandbox and then consider requesting deletion by placing {{Db-userreq|rationale=non-encyclopedic content}} in the source text of that page as for attribution and other reasons the revisions of that page shouldn't stay there, even if it now blanked. All the best, Zindor (talk) 09:54, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
- No problem. I wiped my Sandbox and the images I uploaded should be deleted sometime soon. Not sure how that works, who deletes them. Kinland was a fake article, but Farrow View House is actually a real place. It was my Grandmother's Grandparent's house until my Grandmother's Father sold it. I'm not sure if the house is "historic enough" or old enough to be worthy of an article (it was built in 1900 in Dalwhinnie, Scotland), but it did also serve as the town post office and shop for Dalwhinnie at the time (the house was split into 2 sections, living and business). The only sources of information would be my Grandmother and my Uncle because there are no articles or books anywhere on the internet mentioning the house. I don't think that would fly with Wikipedia guidelines because of no web citations. Anyway, thanks again for letting me know about Wikipedia guidelines and how to follow them. Take care. Old Hoar's Frost (talk) 15:42, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
- I don't think it would warrant its own article, and due to the lack of secondary sources inclusion in Dalwhinnie would be questionable too. Maybe you could write about the house in a local magazine, i'm sure people in the area would find it of interest. Regarding the deletion template, see WP:CSD for more info.
