I'd removed Category:Příbram from several articles about people. The categories are not intended to serve as all-encompassing database tool but to show few most defining characteristics of a person and birthplace is rather far from it. I'd created Category:Czech local politicians for these. Pavel Vozenilek 13:19, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- I am opposed to Your decision as the categories of People of the City are quite common in many other cities (compare for example Category:People from New York City, Category:People from Berlin, Category:Natives of Lyon and many others). Příbram is not a big city, so I don't think it is necessary to make independent category for the people with connection to Příbram. Anyway if this is a problem, I can make the category, which is - as You can see - usual.
- I am open to discuss whether any individual article is needed to be categorized under Příbram, but I suppose that especially all the mayors of city (now Vacek, Fuksa and Řihák) and writer Jan Drda (born in Příbram, many of his books are directly connected to Příbram features like people or places) should be included in the category. I can understand, that for Dvořák or Týrlová their connection to Příbram was not so important, but on the contrary, it was important for Příbram itself.
- Waiting for Your kind answer for a while before reverting.Okino 18:56, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
Karel Opočenský
[edit]Hi Okino ! You are right, and I knew it when I have written an articule on him. Because of problem with writing rare letters like "ý" in English Wikipedia, and even protests of some wikipedists, I wrote "Opocensky" and then "Opočensky". All the best to you and a Happy New Year! Mibelz 20:50, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well, it sounds strange to me as the official Wikipedia policies say something little bit different. See best: Wikipedia:Naming conventions (standard letters with diacritics), where the diacritics is acceptable, if the name has no other usual English version, English-language reliable publications use the diacritics version (...) and the character is printable. So I am not sure about the printability of "ý", but the problem should be the reliable sources. Anyway, the compromise version is probably the worst possible method, especially if not used in English-language publications.
- I am waiting for your oppinion.Okino 21:58, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Snked logo.PNG
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Snked logo.PNG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:19, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Martinu 'The Greek Passion'
[edit]Hello, thanks for your kind note. I took a brief look at your Czech language article on the opera, and while obviously I cannot read it, I am sure that the content is very good. It is very kind of you to offer to translate your article into English. I can then try to combine your material with my material later. Obviously there is no great hurry, so you can take your time. I am starting to work on other short opera articles in the "opera stubs" listings, so that I have plenty to do. Let me know how you want to do this, and thanks, DJRafe 23:09, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Usdeu logo.PNG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Usdeu logo.PNG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Dukla Praha logo.PNG)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Dukla Praha logo.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Okino! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 329 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

- Jan Kopecký - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

What was wrong with two-columns format?--Nitsansh (talk) 21:17, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
- MediaWiki software is programmed to fill a screen with the content of Wikipedia pages. It is not a good way to force overflowing it and to force readers to use horizontal scrollbars. As the reader knows Wikipedia as single screen format (horizontally), it can even lead to a possibility that he/she misses the content that is out of the right border, because it is not normal to have any content there. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. - @De Boni 2007: Well, then it must be a mistake somewhere. The newspaper has its final medal standings: the headline reads "Universiade flame has burnt out" = The Universiade has finished and the number of medals is the same, 16 events. The only difference is in Czechoslovakia and the USSR:
rk | state | medals, 1st = Finnish, 2nd newspaper | |||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Soviet Union | 6×5 | 5×4 | 3×4 | 14×13 |
2 | Czechoslovakia | 4×5 | 2×3 | 3×2 | 9×10 |
Total | 10=10 | 7=7 | 6=6 | 23=23 |
- I'll check it medal by medal according the results in the Finnish document as well as according to the results in the newspaper. --Okino (talk) 16:47, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion opposed: Jan Svoroda
[edit]I have removed the speedy deletion tag you placed on Jan Svoroda as it does not meet any of our speedy deletion criteria. This redirect appears to be a valid {{R to diacritic}}. - @JalenFolf:: Well, did you mention that the redirect is from Jan Svor*o*da to Ján Svor*a*da? In comparison to Jan Svorada, Jan Svoroda is really not a matter of diacritic, but of a totally unusual and improbable typing, which I believe is in full compliance with the "R3" from speedy deletion criteria. --Okino (talk) 21:17, 7 September 2019 (UTC)

The article Karel Kovář (figure skater) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Some mentions, but can't find enough in-depth coverage to meet WP:GNG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Onel5969 TT me 13:06, 16 October 2022 (UTC)
- Dear @Onel5969, can you please reconsider your proposal?
- I can compare the article with similar figure skaters' articles and I believe the article has analogical or even more detailed sources than for example Liam Kapeikis.
- Thanks in advance for reaction. Okino (talk) 20:16, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hi. You can remove the prod yourself at any time. The next step would be for it to go to AfD. But with the current level of sourcing it most likely would not survive. If you can find more in-depth sourcing from independent, reliable sources, then please add it to the article. I could not find any. Just because an article exists on Wikipedia does not mean it is necessarily a good model to base a new article on. Wikipedia is monitored by volunteers, so it's not unusual for an inappropriate article to slip through the cracks. This is known as Wikipedia:Other stuff exists.
