Haudenosaunee
[edit]BTW I support the change to Haudenosaunee, but edits like these are hard sells, since the overwhelming volume of writing about Indigenous peoples is by non-involved non-Native people (newspapers, books, articles, etc.) and legacy names linger. So it might take time, but is still worth pursuing, so many journalists go straight to Wikipedia for their intel. Yuchitown (talk) 16:38, 20 November 2022 (UTC)Yuchitown
- I agree, and thank you for your guidance!
- I know that, at least here in Canada, there is a strong interest from media to reconcile the colonial past, so I hope changes like these will become easier in time. I'm also hoping I laid out a strong enough argument for changing the name, but we will see!
- There's still more that can be done on this site (Beaver Wars to Mourning Wars for example), but hopefully this title change is a start to something new. OddlyOaktree (talk) 17:00, 20 November 2022 (UTC)

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}}
on your userpage.
Please remember to:
- Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes
~~~~
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp. - Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
Off-wiki canvassing
[edit]It appears that you are engaged in off-wiki canvassing by requesting people join the RfC you began on Talk:Iroquois in order to sway the discussion in your favor. I am warning you that such behavior may result in a block. — Nythar (💬-🎃) 02:16, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
