SV22 Camry
[edit]I checked the Redbook source, and it indeed says as much. WP:V and all of that. However, I find it hard to believe that Toyota would use SV22 for the 4S-engined car in Japan and for the 3S-engined model in Australia. This totally goes against Toyota's normal practice. Anyhow, I don't have a source or anything for this right now, I was just trying to align various strains of info across articles. Mr.choppers | ✎ 19:41, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- Mr.choppers, it is indeed the case that Toyota Australia has at times applied model codes at odds with Japan. Even the two main brands of repair manuals confirm SV22 for the Australia 3S-FC powered models: [1], [2]. The other oddity that comes to mind is the 1993 to 1995 SXV10/VCV10 Camry. These were designated SDV10 and VDV10 in Australia. Weirdly, after the 1995 facelift the "correct" designations prevailed. OSX (talk • contributions) 06:29, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
- Hm. I guess I should talk to Toyota Australia, not you... Mr.choppers | ✎ 16:33, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
- Sure, I'd be interested to know what they have to say. Also, here's a 1990 SV22 wagon for sale [3]. The VIN is listed as 6T172SV2209500955. OSX (talk • contributions) 16:55, 11 September 2016 (UTC)

Japanese OEM Development Information/Stories
[edit]I am finally engaging on a project, to publicise much of my research regarding the various global offerings of Japanese automakers, only being slowed down by an inability extricate the information from locked access areas/sites and translate Japanese text. Is there a way to send you a link privately, with a password to access a library of photos and text related to the content? Much of my initial work, will concern Lexus. Here is a sample of what I have, which is far from complete. Please let me know if it is of any interest to you, as content like this I have come across sparingly over the years, but in many cases cannot provide direct links to for verifiability.--Carmaker1 (talk) 02:32, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Greetings. You did some edits and discussion(s) regarding Template:Infobox engine years ago and are active editing automotive related things. So you get this chunk of text on your talk page.
I am not happy with some minor details of the mentioned template and have posted about it on the talk page of the automotive wikiproject. Would be great if you were to contribute to the discussion that hasn't yet happened.

E24 template
[edit]I'd like to ask how to bring back this template that was made by me and nominated for deletion by the troll that was now blocekd?
Peter 01:58, 14 September 2019 (UTC)
- You may regard it as unfortunate that your template was deleted. However, templates are for use across multiple articles and not just one. The blocked editor was actually correct to nominate it for deletion, even though much of his justification was less than complimentary. Constructing data like that is not easy and consumes valuable time which should not be denigrated. Your response did fall into the category of a personal attack which is not permitted (though your frustration is understandable).
- However, that is water under the bridge. If you still have an offline version of the timeline data, why not incorporate it directly into the article? If you do not have a copy, put a request on the administrator's noticeboard WP:AN for an administrator to copy the template to a suitable location that you can then copy into the article. -81.157.153.165 (talk) 16:44, 18 September 2019 (UTC)
