Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Betriebssportgemeinschaft a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 21:34, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There are two issues that need sorted out:

  1. Trade Sports- Associations of sports societies in the GDR technically has a copyright issue because it doesn't incorporate the edit history of Betriebssportgemeinschaft
  2. Trade Sports- Associations of sports societies in the GDR doesn't appear to be an appropriate title. It looks like, from your text, Sportvereinigung or Sports associations (East Germany) would be better titles.

I'm going to go ahead and repair #1. Let me know what you think about the title; otherwise, I'll open discussion on a requested move. —C.Fred (talk) 21:44, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Download. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Sports associations (East Germany)  with this edit, without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. -download 22:07, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Trade Sports- Associations of sports societies in the GDR. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Sports associations (East Germany). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Sports associations (East Germany) – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. —C.Fred (talk) 22:12, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Trade Sports- Associations of sports societies in the GDR, without resolving the problem that the template refers to. This may be considered disruptive editing. Further edits of this type may result in your account being blocked from editing. Please explain how that title is useful, and I'll be glad to move the page back there.C.Fred (talk) 22:14, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Removing AfD template

[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove an Articles for deletion notice or a comment from an AfD discussion, as you did at Central Stadium (Leipzig, GDR). This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it.—cyberbot I NotifyOnline 15:02, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with this edit to Central Stadium (Leipzig, GDR). Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. — MusikAnimal talk 15:12, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning

[edit]
Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

You have exceeded 3 reverts at Central Stadium (Leipzig, GDR). You are subject to blocking at any time for edit warring. Your next edit should be to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Central Stadium (Leipzig, GDR) to express your opinion there. The article's talk page is not the correct location; it has not been nominated for speedy deletion, but for discussion. Yngvadottir (talk) 15:35, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
