Templates
Are those templates, you just created (Cyclades, Aegean islands) necessary? There already exists {{Aegean Sea}} which includes all of the island chains of the Aegean. El Greco(talk) 23:34, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- This template doesn't cover all the Islands, see Vous_Island as an example. Nsaa (talk) 23:53, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- Just checking. {{Aegean Sea}} template is always expanding. El Greco(talk) 00:05, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your contribs, but I've removed the template from Chios - the Aegean Sea template is fuller, contains the same information, and if it is missing something it would be more useful to add the missing articles to the Aegean Sea template rather than have two redundant templates on the article. Deletion of article List of number-one hits in Norway
Hi, I have tagged List of number-one hits in Norway for deletion as it possibly violates the copyrights of the major Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang. Ulflarsen (talk) 15:40, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Template:CURRENTISOWEEKDATE2YMD
A tag has been placed on Template:CURRENTISOWEEKDATE2YMD requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).
Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 02:01, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot (talk) 16:51, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Rollback granted
After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback can be used to revert vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback may be removed at any time.
If you no longer want rollback, then contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some information on how to use rollback, you can view this page. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, just leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Happy editing! Brillo Pads
I thought my edits here were constructive, added a reference and inproved the factual accuracy of the article. Could you tell me what caused you to revert them? 24.36.74.15 (talk) 00:10, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- You're right after closer inspection. I reacted since you removed a reference. Nsaa (talk) 00:14, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Jetsunma page
Please do not remove well-sourced material from Jetsunma's biography printed by Random House. I am by no means a vandal and have been working on this article for the last seven months. 75.172.79.127 (talk) 16:14, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thanx notifying me about this ([1]). It looked like vandalism, but after closer examination it looks fine (and I am no expert on this area). Sorry for the inconvience. Nsaa (talk) 16:21, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Your AIV report
Regarding this report, the user was not warned even once when you made the report. In addition, while I agree the edits were somewhat inappropriate, they aren't obviously vandalism. They appear to me to be good faith - if somewhat misguided - efforts. I declined the block request and welcomed the user, along with a short discussion of why the edits might not have been viewed as appropriate.
In addition, I see you are using Huggle to make lots of anti-vandalism edits, but I also see several discussions here on your talk page where you made reverts that were challenged and which were in fact not vandalism. Please be careful to avoid this in the future; while anti-vandalism work is definitely appreciated, it's not so useful if we wind up scaring off new editors in the process.
If you have any questions, please let me know. Frank | talk 17:39, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- It looked like vandalism for me. It is not good if my actions scare people to contribute. I will search for help next time I encounter edits like this. Thanks for the note. Nsaa (talk) 17:58, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- We can disagree as to whether or not they were vandalism; that's a judgment call. However, the user wasn't warned a single time, which I think is the more important point to keep in mind. Frank | talk 18:07, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- I completely agree with you on that. I should have warned the person in the first place. Sorry for the inconvenience. Nsaa (talk) 18:10, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi, question about this tagging. O assume that was a mistagging since it's well-footnoted. Thanks! TCari My travels 13:24, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
- The tagging was intended to go on to this section. Updated it with
{{Refimprovesect}}
. Thanx. Nsaa (talk) 13:30, 14 July 2008 (UTC)- Gotcha, thanks for the clarification and for teaching me a new tag. TCari My travels 19:36, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not so in favor of this template. Mainly it's best to use
{{fact}}
after the sentence you needs a citation for. But sometimes a complete sections needs more backing and then this can be used (but this is my own interpretation). Nsaa (talk) 19:42, 15 July 2008 (UTC)- Yeah, I tend to use {{fact}} or {{verify}}. Part of me thnks that whole section should go since there don't seem to be any reliable sources covering it, but that's a horse of another color. TCari My travels 19:54, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Category redirects on no.wiki
I have made a lot of progress towards fixing the category redirect script so that it can work on wikis in other languages. Now, I have two more questions for you:
- Do I have to get anyone's permission to run the bot on no.wiki?
- Do you want to provide Norwegian edit summaries for the bot to use? I currently have the following messages that could be translated:
- "Robot: adding category redirect template for maintenance": used when a category page that is a redirect is found that does not contain the appropriate template (in your case, no:Mal:Kategoriomdirigering) to put it in the maintenance category.
- "Robot: moving pages out of redirected category": used when a category link is changed on an article or other page due to a category redirect
- "Robot: fixing double-redirect": when a category redirect page points to another category redirect page
- "category redirect maintenance bot": edit summary when saving log pages and other maintenance information --Russ (talk) 15:23, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot. The policy is outlined here: no:WP:Bot (also in english), and a request can be raised here: no:Wikipedia-diskusjon:Roboter#Permissions_to_run_other_kinds_of_bots.
- Here's my proposals for a norwegian translations (others feel free to update/change this)
Message # | English | Norwegian |
---|---|---|
1 | Robot: adding category redirect template for maintenance | Robot: Legger til vedlikeholdsmal for kategoriomdirigering |
2 | Robot: moving pages out of redirected category | Robot: Flytter sider ut av omdirigeringskategori |
3 | Robot: fixing double-redirect | Robot: Ordner doble omdirigeringer |
4 | category redirect maintenance bot | Bot for vedlikehold av kategoriomdirigeringer |
- Thanks a lot for your efforts. (I've done a couple of people aware of it at no:Maldiskusjon:Kategoriomdirigering#Bot er nesten klar (in Norwegian)) Nsaa (talk) 18:51, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

- Should this be added you need to provide a well founded source at least. See WP:VERIFY. I'm even wondering if the article meets WP:BIO? Nsaa (talk) 20:35, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Yes of course, he's a very known Argentine serial killer. (See the Spanish article about him) and should be ranked in the "Wikiproyect;Serial Killer Task Force". Many many articles about serial killers are stubs, so ... don't worry about that. Take care of your family and yourself! serial killers are in all places around the world and you could be the next victim (only a joke haha)!! hehe xD Maru-Spanish (talk) 22:38, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- Try to add a english language reference if it's aviable. Its fine that you tries to add content on the article. Since the article is about a living person we should be very carefull to what content is added (like what type of sexual oriontation the person have.). (ps: this is covered in policy WP:BLP) Nsaa (talk) 07:14, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Would you like to remove that from my Talk page then?
I think we both used Huggle at exactly the same time - it happens :).

- This is a bit disturbing. I didn't think it was possible to revert other Hubble users like that (I can't say that I got a warning ...). I've of course removed the section from your userpage. Thanks a lot for notifying me. Nsaa (talk) 19:33, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

- Nope, it's suggested that you explain why you're removing the tag, as a courtesy to others, but it's not mandatory, and shouldn't be reverted. --Closedmouth (talk) 13:31, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Raspberry "copyvio"
The bulk of the short stub on Raspberry, British Columbia was pulled from the BCGNIS ref, the first one; a small extra was taken from the Doukhobour Gazette - a very small extra. This article is meant to serve as a foundation for additions from other sources over time, and I was careful to adapt the wording of the Gazette's info so as to not copyright-infringe. Events and facts are not copyrightable. The reply on the talkpage from another editor is quite right - this is not copyvio. What it is is "culture chill", where one gropu thinks it has the rights to control all pages about itself, or one writer thinks they have a priori rights to cover a given item. Pity and shame - the history of Doukhobour-dom in BC is largely missing from Wikipedia and I and others were going to try and correct that over time; but if the Doukhobour Gazette is going to send copyvio notices to anybody who writes about Doukhobour settlements, or reads their book and repeats a fact from it (not quotes a fact from it), then they can be invisible in Wikipedia for all I care. To me, the Copyvio notice is something like censorship; how strange to find censorship for mention of a communal house and a raspberry....oh, but those bits of information were in the British Columbia Geographical Names Information System and ARE NOT COPYRIGHTED. Rather than knee-jerk respond to an IP-address-user who claims copyvio without actually understanding what it is......this article was born, btw, as a "split" on a Census-Designated ARea article Robson/Raspberry, British Columbia, so that the Doukhobour community of Raspberry would not have to in the same article as teh Scots-Canadian settlement of Robson. But given the attitude, I feel it might as well get deleted, and I won't even think about writing articles on any other Doukhobour community, despite their importance to BC history. I think your action was ill-advised, and the IP user needs to take a pill.Skookum1 (talk) 15:42, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
- I did a mistake here. As long as the IP didn't provide any factual reference I shouldn't have added the template to the page. I hope the inconvenience didn't disturbs your wish to attribute to Wikipedia. Nsaa (talk) 00:43, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Hayleyjubilee's articles
Nsaa, please be a little more cautious when labelling a brand-new user a vandal. While the contributions of Hayleyjubilee (talk · contribs) may not be of much long term use to the project, labelling this user a vandal certainly does not assume good faith. While certainly COI and notability problems were there, I don't believe that any of this was bad faith vandalism. Before winding up on AIV, someone should have taken this editor aside and explained the COI and notability policies and explained why they shouldn't arbitrarily remove maintenance templates from articles.

Moreton Pinkney article
Hi! Hope you don't mind me bothering you with a fairly trivial question! I'm pretty new (or at least.... pretty sporadic in my edits!). I made a few changes to the entry for Moreton Pinkney the other day. I notice that you, and a user (IP only) have made some subsequent edits. I'm trying to understand the revision history. As far as I can see, a lot of spurious content has gone back into the (tiny!) article. It's got a few spelling errors, and unverifiable content. It looks to me like someone is deliberately messing with the piece, but I am a real novice at this. I'd appreciate it if you could have a quick look at it for me and translate what is going on. Was I right to remove the spurious content on 3rd Sept, and replace it with a little (accurate!) information or should I have left it? I don't want to start an editing war - but I don't quite understand the edits which have been done since I last looked at the article. Thanks for your help! --Jothelibrarian (talk) 22:32, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- There's seems to be some Wikipedia:vandalism to the page. I tried to revert but didn't remove enought (as you pinpoints). The current article looks quite ok? You can see all the edits done by going to the page history and compare each edit. You can also make a earlier version the current one by pressing the date/time in the history listing on the edition you want to make as the current. don't be affraid of doing edits and revert Vandalism. Just be aware of the Wikipedia:Three-revert_rule. If someone adds material that is not verified you can alwasy add the citation needed template {{fact}}. Nsaa (talk) 22:56, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- Your cleanup on 3 september looks fine to me! Nsaa (talk) 22:58, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your help, and for checking my work. Another kindly Wikipedian removed the vandalism shortly after I posted to your talk page. I'll keep an eye on the article, and try and add some more (useful!) content. I'm also curious to see if the same user keeps adding nonsense to the entry. The whole vandalising-the-wikipedia thing baffles me frankly, can't see why anyone would want to do it! Anyway, thanks again for your help. --Jothelibrarian (talk) 16:53, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Simple Green
Please do not revert back the changes I have made to the Simple Green article. As an employee I know exactly what ingredients are and are not in the formula. Earlier attempts of monitoring this article and trying to play fair and unbiased have only allowed more blatant ingredient lies - including one time by a competitors company. I have left a message for the editor on their talk page. A good way to approach this is that if they have not responded to prompts in the edit summaries, then try to engage them on their talk page or the article talk page (a better choice for anons using more than one IP address). Typically, getting into an edit war over maintenance tags is regarded as silly, so if it goes back-and-forth more than once or twice, it's best to take a step back and try a new approach, such as getting a third opinion in the matter. (Asking a neutral admin/experienced editor is a good idea.) I hope this helps. caknuck ° is geared up for football season 20:41, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Please be more careful. Your edits here looked like vandalism, but you probably just feel asleep on your keyboard or something. lk (talk) 08:30, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
- Ohhh ... that was my worst edit ever (hopefully). Thanks for notifying me and reverting it. (I was probably on my way on reverting this one [5]) Nsaa (talk) 08:37, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Personal Attack by Interwebz
Hello, I can't alter your comments, but pleas consider changeing the warning on User talk:Interwebz to : {{subst:uw-npa2}} ~~~~ instead of a level one vandalism warning, as the subject of the warning was not good faith, and it was a personal attack, cheers Theterribletwins1111 (talk) 16:51, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
- Aggree. Changed it. Thanx for notifying me :-) Nsaa (talk) 16:55, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Change Made to Category of page "User:JD3K/MaRy" wasn't vandalism
The change that i made to the category, was after i read the page, finding that good part of the facts on it aren't anything but a hodge-podge of copy and paste, false facts and unrelated data. The page in question should be removed, as only it drives to confusion, or put as an example of hoax Wiki page. --Neopillan (talk) 15:36, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
- You gave no reason for saying that this is a hoax and this was my reason for reverting it. Please use the discussion page and ground your claims (I can't do it because I'm not familiar with the subject). And since it's on a users userpage (maybe he is working on someting), please ask him. Nsaa (talk) 16:17, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
Done it. check my reply and you will understand. Thanks for hearing me.--Neopillan (talk) 16:48, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Since it is obvious that there are too different opinions in the interpretation of the guidelines, I filed a dispute at WP:BLPN#Raila Odinga. --R.Schuster (talk) 14:11, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Good job adding the source (I've removed the tag), just to let you know you can remove those tags yourself (even as the article's creator) if they're no longer accurate. Happy editing, Guest9999 (talk) 21:23, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- I want to be carefully when I'm myself the main editor, since I then misses the distance. Thanx! Nsaa (talk) 21:26, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

The explanation I supplied clearly stated "Shortened the section for the purpose of neutrality". Indeed the criticism section appeared to take up a disproportionate amount of the article. Sioraf (talk) 19:11, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

User:Xinunus
Your not an admin stop reverting this users personal page. You changed it without making a comment. If you have a problem with what this user is doing make a note of it for the user to change it back themselves, its not your place to do it for them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.207.27.25 (talk • contribs) 2008-10-03T03:28:45
- I've not reverted the user page user:Xinunus according to the page history, although you have done so prob. incorrectly. I've only reverted removal of content on this user’s discussion page. As far as I can see you have emptying the discussion page incorrectly. Nsaa (talk) 07:36, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Gotcha
Sorry, that tower annoys me however, Rhodes brought shame to Ohio, and so does that tower. It is a spit in the face of us Ohioans.--65.25.16.174 (talk) 19:40, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know the particular subject, but saying it's a shame is quite exeptional. But a building is named after a person to honour him. Exeptional solid reference(s) needs to be added if you want to change this I belive. Nsaa (talk) 20:21, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
- I understand it was vandalism, and I am sure it would be reverted. But for your own information, Rhodes ordered the national guard to Kent State the day of the Kent State Massacre, resulting in four deaths and a number of injuries. Honorable? I think not --65.25.16.174 (talk) 22:57, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Feels encouraging that I have not misunderstood the BLP rules totally. However it does not help - ehausler have now vandalised Your notes as well, what to do? Nisken (talk) 07:21, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- I've reverted the removal action and gave Ehausler another vandalism (WP:VAN) warning (on the grounds that he removes well sourced material without any explanation). If he revert once more he will be given a final warning {{subst:uw-vandalism4|Papa Dee}}, and if this action occurs yet another time, then he will be reported (WP:AIV) so an administrator can block him for a given period of time. If multiple users starts vandalizing you can ask for a page protection at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection (WP:RFPP). Nsaa (talk) 09:35, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- I've now reported Ehausler at WP:AIV and the user was blocked indef. Nsaa (talk) 12:27, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism
that was a perfectly fair respose to what you did, all i did was ask a few questions.
i feel like you are on some sort of power trip, i think that it is out of order. i you have any integrity you will discuss this with me as aposed to just blocking me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Weeze01 (talk • contribs) 20:01, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
- First of all I didn't block you. Even if I was an admin on en-wp I wouldn't have done it since it was me you attacked. If I've been an admin and seen this kind of attack on other users you would have been given the same reaction from me (per WP:ATTACK). Nsaa (talk) 11:27, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

If the author of the article blanks the whole thing, that is considered a request for deletion and not vandalism (see G7 criterion for speedy deletion). I have appropriately tagged the article under G7 as a result. Cheers, MuZemike (talk) 03:48, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Do you give welcome messages to all anon editors?
If you do, I'm very impressed with your dedication. I was editing anonymously out of lazyness (too lazy to log in), and only a few seconds after I made an edit, you send a welcome message to that IP. Impressive. --Kevlar (talk • contribs) 21:27, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- Not at all giving every one. If I spot an IP without a welcome message and the contrib(s) seems to be ok, I tries to give a welcome message. Both to help out and to give positive feedback (when you mainly do Vandalism Fight I think it's important to always look for how to turn some and give other possible good (anon) contributors (as your edit) a warn welcome). Vandalism?? I think not! I merely stated that I believed that a peacock term had been used in the article. Please tell me why you thought that was vandalism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.158.190.206 (talk • contribs) 2008-12-03T21:09:37

- why did you revert it in the first place? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.158.190.206 (talk • contribs) 2008-12-03T21:25:34
- Please sign your posting by inserting four tildes like this: ~~~~. I did the reverting on suspicion on vandalism. But it looks like I was wrong. Sorry for that. Happy editing! (and I've learned something new per WP:PEACOCK Thanks!) Nsaa (talk) 21:28, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
- that's OK. Just out of interest, what were the reasons for your suspicions? 86.158.190.206 (talk) 21:35, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
- I I didn't know the term (I'm not a native speaker), and I looked at this revert done by another, and when you added only two words [7] in the first instance I reverted I suspected a problematic user (wrongly). I Hope this didn't scare you off doing edits to Wikipedia. Sorry again for reverting you here. Don't hesitate asking me here if there's stuff that looks unfamilar. your nav template

- I'm not sure if this template is appropriate to the usage, but it works now after this change: [9]. As I remember I changed the standard template at {{Archive-nav}} just so I could use something else than numbers. Nsaa (talk) 19:52, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
