Adaptations for Indigenous Mexicans

[edit]

I think we probably have enough sources to create an article on the new adaptations of the Roman Rite in Mexico. I worked on Zaire Use some time ago, so I would feel comfortable kicking that article off. However, you seem to have already gotten some reading on the subject in and I was wondering if you planned to make an article. There are a couple other liturgically knowledgeable editors who could help (CC: Darth Stabro, Maximilian775). Let me know if you have any plans or would like to coordinate! ~ Pbritti (talk) 16:59, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was going to make a new article, however, I am unsure on what to call the page. I have not really found a suitable name in any sources for the new use. The term "Mayan Rite" comes up, but that makes it seem more distinct than it really is. I can't find an official name beyond what I have already added in the other liturgical pages. I may need to take another look at the official documents, which I believe are available for download on 'The Pillar' (only in Spanish, which I can read). Let me know if you have any other ideas. I would be happy to collaborate! Notordinaryatall (talk) 19:51, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll get back to you on the name, as I'm not seeing anything consistent. The WPI blog concurs that even "Mayan Use" is a bit too far (I disagree, as diocesan usages used to encompass even trivial approved variations, but what do I know...). I'll let you know more about coordinating on making an article sometime before US Thanksgiving. I have a GA review to complete for someone else on here, so that'll take precedence. If you have any questions, please do ping me! ~ Pbritti (talk) 05:24, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
