Saw your notice. Africa Rural Connect is a verifiable and notable program. Plenty of reliable sources have discussed it , as a quick google search can show.[1]Also it can be verified as a National Peace Corps Association Program[2] and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Grantee Program[3]. ARC has also been featured in many Media Outlets (washington post, businessweek, seattle times, etc), you can find links to some of these articles on our Press page.[4] I'll try to add a hang-on note on the page to delay deletion while I figure out how to post this info on the page. Reverting Batman Article Edit
[edit]I just wished to ask why you reverted my edit to the "Batman" article here. Is it because I don't count for semi-protected status, that the link was not worthy the edit or something else? Maphisto86 (talk) 09:05, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

ARUNKUMAR P.RTalk 09:51, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Nobody has removed anybody's comments from talk page. Kannadigas stand apart from the caste system prevealent all round the state and since it surrounds many states it's obvious has many migrants who try to view things in their persepctive. I have provided links to all the matters discussed which are seemingly political vandalism by these people.I can cite hundreds of wikipedian articles for talks and discussions which involve more than just your said kind and polite words. If you can remove all those and then come here.Kali-K (talk) 15:02, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

WP:PROF
[edit]I need to remind you of this guideline. When there's an article on a full prof at a place like CalTech without the usual sources to the elements that establish notability, the thing to do is to ask for them. We do not delete articles for being unsourced, only for being unsourceable-- and even that require prod or AfD, not speedy-- to pass Speedy all that is necessary is to give some indication of notability, not to prove it.-- see WP:CSD. DGG ( talk ) 10:29, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
- I think it is about this Aron Kuppermann's article .I'm sorry for A7ing it the article appeared to be non notable I'll see to it that I do not repeat the same mistake .Thanks DGG.--NotedGrant Talk 10:42, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
as for GamePanelX
[edit]you asked me : .Should I AFD that page ?It looks like an article about a website/company advertising their game server (I'll stop csding pages for a while and study wp:csd , check others csds )--NotedGrant Talk 10:57, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
- You should look for references according to WP:BEFORE. If you do not find any adequate ones, then you should AfD it. But be aware that for this type of subject, some but not all afds have closed keep on the basis of references less formal than usual. In practice, if enough knowledgeable people think it important, they will sometimes but not always come to the AfD and say keep. Of course, the author should have done that; but if not, we all have the responsibility. Myself I would feel extremely embarrassed if I brought something to AfD and it turned out to have easy-to-find references. And it happens, too--I do not claim 100% accuracy. Edits to al-Albani
[edit]I saw your recent edits at Muhammad Nasiruddin al-Albani and agree that they were perhaps not very worthy links--this would probably extend to most of the other links there as well--however, I think, for the sake of fairness, if there is a link to a refutation of the subject, it would be appropriate to have a response to it as well. Supertouch (talk) 14:17, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
- I've undone my edit to the article and re added the links Critique of Book 'Albani Unveiled' Al-Albani's Blogs: [6], [7] Though they violate wp:elno but can be used for the 'sake of fairness'.--NotedGrant Talk 20:13, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
- I was actually thinking more along the lines of removing both the refutation and the counter-refutation as neither seem appropriate for Wikipedia. I would have done it myself, but since you had the last edit in the External Links of that page and thought it best to consult you first. No big deal. Supertouch (talk) 21:30, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Abu Kalam Azad
[edit]Good evening dear Notedgrant,
I want to complain about some Users who vandalize many articles on Wikipedia and push their own POV´s on them. Some of them are Users like User:Ketabtoon who begin to edite all articles that is somehow related with Afghanistan, it´s people or culture, despite he has no knowledge about Afghanistan and it´s history. If you look on his contributions, you will see that he is always pushing unsourced and unreliable datas on articles and delete scientific and reliable sources, mostly scholarely. Be it about Ghurids, Persian language, Afghanistan, Ghaznavids or Tajiks and many more. He corrupts many articles which is a break of Wikipedia´s law (f.ex. here 1 or 2, 3 only three of many hundred of examples). He was many times reported but somewho he still occur on Wikipedia, although all his edites were banned by many Admins. The further point is, that he is known for beeing an ultra-nationalist Pashtun from Pakistan, who do not accept western, mostly scholaric and objective sources, except sources were terms like Afghan are used, so he can jump up and use it in a wrong context. For example as for Ghaznavids or Ghurids he was keeping the term for Pushtuns, while the term Afghan was used in Britannica for the Tajik people of modern Afghanistan who are also known by the law of Afghanistan as Afghans. He makes use of this point to claim and falsify all articles about culture, history, languages, countries etc. I ask you, as a member of the Admin-Team of Wikipedia and as a represant who is doing this job to provide the world the knowledge it needs, to do something against him. He and the User:119.73.4.199 (who is a banned User and a sock of many banned accounts; User:Khampalak, User:NisarKand etc.) are known for working with eachother. All edites of both Users are not only similar, but to 100% exactly the same, the kind of their writings and the kind how they push their POV´s and even the choise of their not reliable sources. As I mentioned they work together...or User:Ketabtoon is a sockpuppet of NisarKand, User:Khampalak etc. Wikipedia would be exonarated when the Admins would block and ban them from editing. As long Wikipedia accept them, articles will turn to slippery goods on Wikipedia and lose their accurate values.
For ca. 1 year ago, I was reading an article about Abul Kalam Azad, an Indian Muslim politician of Tajik origine. However, the article was using the term Afghan to tie him with Afghanistan, since his ancestors were from Herat, Afghanistan, a Persian/Tajik city. I was looking for sources on library and on the Net to exchange the term Afghan with Perian (Tajik). When I found them, I used a few of them. But some days later, the article was falsified by the User:119.73.4.199 and User:Ketabtoon from Persian to Pashtun, but not even back to Afghan (see on the state definition of Afghan, citizen), as you can see here. He claimed that the term Afghan mean Pashtuns and not Tajik. He did not want to understand the term was used to tie him with Afghanistan, as Britannica and other not scientific and reliable sources do, when it comes to regional heritage or origine of someone or something. For Abul Kalam Azad, I had the following sources where it was stated the person´s Persian origine:
http://www.bharatadesam.com/people/biographies/freedom_fighters/maulana_abul_kalam_azad.php
- India Wins Freedom; Orient Longman Book-Institute
- ^ Die politische Willensbildung in Indien 1900-1960; 1965, von Dietmar Rothermund
- ^ http://www.whereincity.com/india/great-indians/freedom-fighters/maulana-abul-kalam.php His mother was an Arab and the daughter of Sheikh Mohammad Zaher Watri and his father, Maulana Khairuddin, was a Bengali Muslim of Afghan (Tajik) origine. Khairuddin left India during the Sepoy Mutiny, proceeded to Mecca and settled there. He came back to Calcutta
The last source give in addition to the term Afghan as someone who comes from modern-day Afghanistan, his national ethnicity. But it is even interesting to see that User:Ketabtoon uses the same sources that grip on his Tajik ancestory for his Pashtun origine click here. They just jump over the sources and the sourced terms and exchange them with no opponent sources. I want to ask you, if you can give me the permission to correct the falsified paragraph in the article. I appreciate every help from your side. I am going to create an account for myself on Wikipedia and I would thank you very much if I could stand near to you. With best regards, dear friend--94.219.218.209 (talk) 23:29, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

It is unfortunate to revert edits which confirms NPOV
[edit]AS per NPOV policy Editors must write articles representing all significant views fairly, proportionately, and without bias.
Following edit (8 Feb 15:20) satisfies NPOV policy then why it is reverted? It should not be reverted.
[She justify that the expenditure is required because the past governments had not cared to show any respect towards different Dalit icons in whose memory nothing was ever built.[1].]

igloo
[edit]Hi Notedgrant, and thanks for your interest in igloo. Before using the program, please read the following information carefully - failure to do so may result in your test access being revoked.
igloo is a JavaScript-powered, browser-based anti-vandalism tool, which means you do not have to download or install anything on your computer and it will work on multiple operating systems. However, it does mean that the performance relies on that of your browser and it may operate more slowly than downloaded programs. You must have either Mozilla Firefox 3+ or Google Chrome to use igloo, as it is currently incompatible with other browsers.
igloo relies on a system called iglooNet to assist you in finding and reverting vandalism. It is this system that transforms the program from a pretty version of recent changes to an actual anti-vandalism tool. Naturally, this is beyond the power of a client-side program, and igloo will regularly communicate with an external, non-Wikimedia server. Because of things like server logs, and the iglooNet abuse tracker, this may allow your IP address to be attached to your username - something which is otherwise impossible on Wikipedia. If you do not want this to happen, you MUST NOT USE IGLOO.
If you decide that you do want to test igloo, please keep in mind that it not wholly stable, and you may experience problems where it performs an invalid edit, or other unwanted action. If this happens, fix any mistakes you've made, apologise to anyone you've offended, and let me know. I don't take any responsibility for your use of the program - if you aren't willing to fix any errors, don't use it.
igloo is already quite powerful. The following is a simple guide to using the program:
- The igloo interface is similar to that of other software, including huggle. Recent changes appear on the left, and diffs appear on the right.
- igloo sorts diffs based on iglooNet data so that edits most likely to be vandalism are displayed first. You can press spacebar to view the top diff, or click on any diff to view it directly.
- When you find vandalism, press 'Q' or click the revert button to revert the change, and issue a warning to the user. igloo automatically issues the correct warning. It will ignore existing warnings that are more than 5 days old, and restart from the beginning.
- The iglooNet assertion system tags clean and dirty edits with colour coding - if it suspects an edit is vandalism, it will be flagged as red, and if it believes it to be clean, it will tag it green.
- At any time, you can re-review diffs you have already seen by pressing backspace or using the icons to move through the diff history.
If you have any questions, comments, suggestions or other feedback, I'd love to know. If you hate it, and won't be using it again, please let me know why - and I'll remove you from the test whitelist. If you now try and use igloo, you should find that it will allow you to use the program. Thanks, and good luck! Ale_Jrbtalk 12:07, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
