Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Thank you. CMD (talk) 01:58, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to the article Sepak raga

[edit]

Please stop reverting edits by other people on the article Sepak raga – such as this edit: (diff) – with the summary "disruptive editing". If you don't explain what the problem is, it isn't going to get fixed – and it might not be a problem in the first place. Also, I searched the Internet and the results that were returned said that it's an Indonesian sport, as the article does. Please check you are in the right before continuing to revert what other people are doing, and discuss on the talk page. If this continues, you may be blocked from editing. Remember, we're here to build an encyclopedia, not to fight over articles. If you think others working on the article won't listen to you, you can ask at Wikipedia:Editor assistance/Requests – but without you discussing with the other people working on the article first, they may not be able to assist. Copying within Wikipedia

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. CMD (talk) 09:20, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Theatre of Indonesia, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Lais and Samra. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:17, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia

[edit]

Hi Northheavensky, as has been noted a couple of times above, please read Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Specifically, see WP:RIA for ways to rectify the lack of attribution. It is irrelevant whether or not the whole text or similar was copied, enough was copied to make it substantial. As you performed the copying, this should be a simple issue to fix, just list the articles you copied from on the talkpage using Template:Copied and use a dummy edit to attribute them on the article itself. However, please do fix the issue before removing the template. Best, CMD (talk) 02:58, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Need advice, not sure what's the procedure

[edit]

Hi Northheavensky, I recently came across an article called Malaysian art, which was made in its entirety by a user named Hati Kama, who upon clicking on their user page made me realize that it was a sockpuppet of another user named Awanama. Hati Kama had also created another article called Folklore of Malaysia. I remember reading somewhere that there are procedures in place on Wikipedia to deal with articles created by sockpuppets, and a google search revealed "G5. Creations by banned or blocked users" (WP:G5). I honestly thought Hati Kama fitted the criteria its in entirety, it's a blocked user violating their block, and both articles had no substantial edits by others. I placed the template on these two articles. However, I was reverted by an admin named Liz, who stated that "Sockpuppeteer wasn't blocked when this article was written". I was also subsequently reprimanded not to leave tags like that as a I was merely a "3 day old account with 14 edits", before being subsequently accused of being a sockpuppet myself without evidence. Perhaps as you being an older established user, you could advice me as to what I did wrong, and I also came to you as you seemed to have had previous interactions with Awanama and their sockpuppets. I see you're also currently in the midst of reporting another possible sock of Awanama. Thank you for your time. IpohLang (talk) 21:38, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Continued copying without attribution

[edit]

Hi Northheavensky, I see that you are still copying text from other articles without attribution at Indonesian Malaysians, ignoring several requests above that contained detailed instructions for how to properly provide attribution. Since this is a violation of the terms of Wikipedia's license, I have restored the previous redirect at this page. You can restore the material if you attribute all of the pages you have copied from, but until then, it is a licensing violation. See WP:RIA for more information about how to do this. Thanks, DanCherek (talk) 22:46, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@DanCherek: I never copy from Javanese Malaysians Northheavensky (talk)

The "Javanese" section at Indonesian Malaysians starts out identically as Javanese Malaysians. Are you saying you wrote the exact same 37 words, in the same order, by pure chance? DanCherek (talk) 23:07, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the first sentence has been used in many pages not only in Javanese malaysians "The Javanese Malaysians are people of full or partial Javanese descent who were born in or immigrated to Malaysia. They form a significant part of Malaysia's population and Malaysian law considers most of them to be Malays" and if there are some sentences that are similar I think it's "natural", we write the same history. Northheavensky (talk)

Actually, there are only two articles that contain those two sentences in that order: Javanese Malaysians and Indonesian Malaysians. DanCherek (talk) 05:32, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

See [1] the sentence is the same, only the "ethnic name" is different. Example: "The Minangkabau Malaysians are people of full or partial Minangkabau descent who were born in or immigrated to Malaysia. They form a significant part of Malaysia's population and Malaysian law considers most of them to be Malays". Northheavensky (talk)

Debating this is a waste of time. Please consider this section a warning against further copying without attribution; I don't want to see you blocked for this, as some editors have been in the past. DanCherek (talk) 06:24, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

Hi, and nice to meet you. I noticed you have been combating POV-pushing and sockpuppets in several articles and I appreciated that. However, I do want to address that as this is English Wikipedia, edit summaries are probably should be in English instead of Indonesian to avoid misunderstanding and so other editors can understand it.

I only want to say that, and I hope you continue your good work. Have a nice day Nyanardsan (talk) 00:51, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesian as both official and national langauge

[edit]

Hi, you reverted an edit I made to the Indonesia page about the language being both the official and national language. Isn't it a redundancy? What is the reasoning for distinguishing Indonesian as both the official and national languages? Wkpdsrnm2023 (talk) 05:08, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe you can contribute to the reasoning why on the talk page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Indonesia#Indonesian_as_the_official_and_national_language
I'm just generally curious as to what the distinction is and whether it is important to Indonesians that it also be referred to as the national language or not. Wkpdsrnm2023 (talk) 05:11, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
