Wii Play

Yes most stores are getting it in tomorrow, but today is the day it's actually released. TJ Spyke 20:52, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Recently you edited the article "Aristotle University of Thessaloniki" erasing 45 links to official University sites.

I think that these links are necessary for the user to be able to quickly and easily spot the webpage of the department he/she wants to access. Furthermore these links are closely related to the subject of the article and thus I think they are an essential part of it.

If you read other University articles, you will see that the majority of them contain this kind of links to official university sites. For example see Yale, Stanford, University of California and so on.

So please could you restore the links to their previous state? If they occupy a lot of space, maybe we can make them more compact. Thanks Chggr 23:57, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

Feel free to re-submit a new version of the article. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. Veinor (talk to me) 21:48, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

This was deleted on an expired prod which was added to the article on July 10th. You'll see it in the history once I undelete it, which should be in about two minutes. Happy editing! -- But|seriously|folks  21:29, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

I appreciate the notice on my talk page, but please do be careful in making such notices in the future. 'Canvassing' for votes like this is considered inappropriate (see WP:CANVASS). In the future, if you feel a discussion about an article should garner more attention, post some neutral notices (ones that do not call for a particular vote) on the talk pages of all users who have expressed interest (positive or negative) in these situations. Once again, thanks for the notice. CaveatLector Talk Contrib 00:04, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

I didn't revert it because it is a duplicate sentence, but the claim was cited right there. The citation tag was right after the sentence you removed. It's in the book. Me-123567-Me 02:10, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Notifications on NBA on CBS article.

PLEASE, notify everyone you can think of. The primary editors or the article, the person that originally nominated it, the person who passed it; they ALL have something valuable to add to the discussion. A notice should be left on the article talk page about it, but also feel free to notify personally those editors that stand the best chance of improving the article. --Jayron32|talk|contribs 06:17, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Student Affairs

I would certainly be interested in contributing to a Student Affairs WikiProject. I've outlined my rationale at the talk section you started at the WikiProject Universities article, here. TheArcologist 07:23, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

barnstar

Thank you very much for the barnstar!  :) Esrever 22:32, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi there! I really hate to have to be the one to tell you this, but I don't think you can have a gallery of non-free images on your userpage. If I'm reading the fair use guidelines correctly, the only place you can actually display a fair-use image or a thumbnail of such an image is in the article namespace. Sorry! Esrever 21:30, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Glad to hear that you removed the fair-use images from the gallery. Originally, I was coming here to see if you'd be interested in reassessing Vanderbilt University, when I noticed the gallery. I almost hate to ask the favor now, but if you have a chance I'd love to hear your opinion on the Vanderbilt article (i.e., is it A-Class or not?). Eventually, I'd like to have it reach FA status, so I'm soliciting outside opinions from the other people who are active at WikiProject Universities. Esrever 01:47, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

renaming far/farc etc.

...probably not a good idea. I hope they will be gentle with you.. but I sorta doubt it. I hope you have thick skin and can let it all roll off your back like water etc. Don't let it get to you if it gets unpleasant. Just skip it. --Ling.Nut 04:55, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your GA review of Silicon Dreams

I'm still new to Wikipedia's guidelines and having a hard time with them, as they're not user-friendly, but everything you said make sense and most importantly, you were nice about it. With other editors, I had the sensation of hearing a robot's monologue. I'll make sure to cover all failed points before re-nominating the article, just need to find the time. Once again, thank you.

STOP

Please do NOT try to move pages from (name A) to (name B) by doing a copy-paste. This completely destroys the page history. As it is, I'm going to have to spend a few minutes fixing your error.

No harm done, but please use the "move this page" functionality next time. DS 05:05, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

If the A-->B pagemove functionality is blocked because (name B) is already being used as a redirect to (name A), then you'll have to ask an admin to delete (name B) for you (there's a page somewhere, "requests for pagemove" or something) - simply blanking (name B) won't do the trick, and can even be mistaken for vandalism. Plus, like I said - it destroys the page history. DS 05:11, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

"Cleaning up" template /doc subpages

When "cleaning up" a /doc subpage, please don't move critical <noinclude> tags as you did with this edit. Read WP:DOC to see how this document should be structured. I'm not sure if WP:AWB is at fault here (I've never used it), but just watch out for it in future edits. +mt 15:50, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Yeah AWB actually suggested that move so I went with it, but I realize what happened and it will not happen in the future. Thanks! —Noetic Sage 16:08, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

List of largest United States universities by enrollment

Hi, if you check the List of largest United States universities by enrollment page, their references are from the self-published sources. In addition, if you search on the net, all puclications in Ohio also use the source puclished by OSU. To me, it does not matter if this is the self-published sources as long as it is official. This news is very official from the admin office of a state university, not just any unknown publication. So far, the OSU article is the original. Many organizations also refer to this article published by OSU. I definitely will not use second-handed sources that adopted news from this OSU article.- Finally, many references in the OSU page are also self-published sources. I can also bet that you can also see many university pages in wikipedia using self-published sources.-Ohho 07:50, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

I know that many university-related articles use self-published information a lot. This isn't always bad. A university is probably not going to misreport its enrollment number. However, if there are two sources that give the same information and one is not self-published, Wikipedia prefers the non-self-published article. Some things related to universities are only going to be self-published, and that's OK in some cases. —Noetic Sage 12:03, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for the kind welcome.

My focus is French universities. My first task was to simply establish an accurate list of the ninety-one public universities, try to structure this list in a sensible manner and to try to put in place reasonable English translations of the university names. Now, I'm making sure that each university has at least a stub. MyPOV 18:01, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

King Edward VI Five Ways

Thanks for outlining the problems with the King Edward VI Five Ways page. I would like to request that you suggest methods for me to improve the page. For instance, what on it would you like to see sourced for it to pass the Good Article criteria? And, is there anything notable missing from the article that you would like to see on it for it to pass? Could you please leave any comments you wish to make on my talk page, rather than below, or on the discussion page. Thanks. Alex Holowczak 22:02, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

I have noted your changes and agree with you - I haven't really focused on some sections and there is a load of rubbish that needs a hasty delete, or at least rewrite. Thanks for your advice, although it doesn't half make the page look a lot worse! Alex Holowczak 20:51, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Newsletters

Although there aren't much to write about WP:UNI, if you need help with writing the monthly newsletters or just need an extra pair of hands, feel free to let me know! :D Happy Holidays! - Jameson L. Tai talkcontribs 06:19, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I have started the COTF project. Please nominate your article for the Editor Nominated Topic ASAP. We'll have results for our first COTF on Thursday, 06 DEC 2007. The First COTF will span from 07 DEC 2007 ~ 20 DEC 2007. This will give us time to experiment with the project and measure the level of our success. As always, I appreciate feedback. Sorry if the instructions seem like I'm the COTF dictator. I'm just trying to get things running...and when we get things on the road we can talk about rotating the moderator position as necessary. Thanks for your support thus far! - Jameson L. Tai talkcontribs 07:57, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Um... I gotta question for you. Could you help me send a message out for everyone in the project to know about the COTF or show me how to send a message to everyone in the WikiProject? Thanks! :-) - Jameson L. Tai talkcontribs 02:00, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
The way I do it is by using AWB. You can either try to download that, do it manually, or wait until the next newsletter (which will be in a month....). Let me know —Noetic Sage 02:38, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I've tried to get access into AWB, but since I don't have over 500 edits on the mainspace I am not "an approved user". :D I'll probably just do it manually. There's only a small handful of us who are actually participating in these discussions anyways, so it should be fine for now. :D Thanks for the tip! - Jameson L. Tai talkcontribs 04:49, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Please place your name in the UNI/COTF Active Editors section if you would like to be contacted regarding RfCs, news, notices, etc that are pertinent to the COTF project. Thanks! - Jameson L. Tai talkcontribs 11:26, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

RfD nomination of Template:WP:UNI/TODO

I have nominated Template:WP:UNI/TODO (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) for discussion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at the discussion page. Thank you. Noetic Sage 16:55, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

As you're the creator and only editor of this, you can request its speedy deletion under CSD-G7. Simply add {{db-self}} to the redirect page. – Tivedshambo (talk) 19:50, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

I have nominated University of St. Thomas Residence Hall Association, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/University of St. Thomas Residence Hall Association. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
