Hampton, VA Wiki
Hello, I ask that you do not revert the changes made. The existing article contains missing information, inconsistent information, or outdated information. My edits were an attempt to clean up and bring some of the information in line with other articles for cities in the Hampton Roads area. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mellis5487 (talk • contribs) 04:14, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
- Mellis5487, it's okay, just make sure you cite a reliable source in all of your edits, so that no other person can revert you. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 09:29, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
Move a page
Good day. I am new to wiki. I want your assistance on how to move a page (edit a title of a wiki page). Please assist me in this regard. BA Nugget (talk) 04:20, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
- BA Nugget, hello and welcome to Wikipedia, I hope you're enjoying the place. Can you kindly tell me the name of the page, the intended title and the reason you want it to be moved. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 09:29, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
- Degi Eremienyo Wangagra
- https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Degi_Eremienyo_Wangagra
- The correct name should be "
- Biobarakuma Wangagha Degi Eremienyo". Looking forward to the changes. Newspapers column uses "Degi Eremienyo Wangagra" because it in wiki as such, which is wrong.BA Nugget (talk) 09:38, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
- BA Nugget, Wikipedia cites from newspapers and other reliable sources and title of pages should be what subjects are commonly known by. Read WP:COMMONNAME. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 10:15, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
Ejemekwuru
Hey - I have made the changes to the username per your advice and the username policy. The new name just got approved. It is now 'ObeeD at ESDD'. Looks like we are good to go on this front. Anything else I need to do before making the updates again to the Ejemekwuru page? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by ObeeD at ESDD (talk • contribs) 13:36, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
- ObeeD at ESDD That's a great step in getting your username changed. Now, most of your additions to the article were not cited. You're required to add a reliable source in any changes you make to an article to help in verification. I also noticed that you used Wikipedia as a source, it's not permitted, please read WP:CIRCULAR. You're to strictly adhere to neutral point of view. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 13:47, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
I’d be grateful if you could move this to draft please. Many thanks Mccapra (talk) 15:38, 16 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi me again. This user has created a run of six new articles with no sources. I moved them back to draft and they’ve cut and pasted them back to main space. The articles need moving back to draft again if you have time thanks. Mccapra (talk) 02:52, 18 August 2020 (UTC)

A small mistake
Just a heads up, I think you made a mistake with this revert: [1]. Much as I dislike dabbing, I do think the IP was in the right 😉Thegreatluigi (talk) 23:33, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
- Thegreatluigi Yea, you're right. I just reviewed it now. Thanks for pointing it out, should be more careful next time. —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 23:36, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
- Eh, don't worry about it. It happens to the best of us. Thegreatluigi (talk) 23:47, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for your encouraging comment
Just want to thank you for dropping an encouraging comments for me creating Joshua Iginla's article page. The kudos also goes to the two other reviewers that helped fine tune the article to acceptable standard than just turning it down. Their input energised me to a large extent just as your comment has done. It is very unfortunate that some few articles I spent precious time creating ended up being declined over flimsy excuses. There are so many important people of Notability that never get to wikipedia. For example, the likes of Joshua Iginla. I also created another article for Alex Omokudu - another popular Nigerian pastor in the UK but that was turned down by a reviewer. There are other Nigerians I thought should be in wikipedia but they too have been turned down. It's so discouraging after researching and compiling credible sources and re-working the articles based on feedbacks from earlier reviewers but at the end someone will just decline it, which should have been done in the first review. I really don't understand. I can only admit that perhaps I'm not a good writer or presenter. Please keep up the good work without fear or favour. I love wikipedia and will always do. I'm really happy to recieve compliment from reviewers like yourself for the little I have done so far. Thank you.Ozonyiawiki (talk) 02:19, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
- Ozonyiawiki, hello and welcome to my talk page. I truly understand how you must feel when your draft is declined, but I'll advice you not to give up. Go through the comment/s left by the reviewer and make the available changes they suggest and hopefully, your draft will be accepted when next it's reviewed. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 02:56, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
Ejemekwuru
Hey - thanks for all the feedback. I have made a lot of changes to the original article and have done more extensive independent referencing. Take a look. I think we are ready to publish this but I will defer to you in case I missed anything. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by ObeeD at ESDD (talk • contribs) 18:02, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
- ObeeD at ESDD that's a good step. I'll check and get back to you. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 19:24, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
- ObeeD at ESDD I have checked and didn't see anything, will you care to point me to where the changes are located. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 19:26, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
Closure of RM
Hi, you closed Talk:ASEAN/Archives/2020#Requested_move_31_January_2020 as rename. Could you please explain why you did not close it as 'no consensus' which at first sight would have been the more obvious closure? (please ping me when replying) Marcocapelle (talk) 10:18, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
- Marcocapelle, The support votes were more grounded in policy. According to the support votes, they noted that Association of Southeast Asian Nations might be precise and unambiguous, but WP:CONCISE applies here. They also noted that in keeping up with the consistency of ASEAN Free Trade Area and ASEAN Summit, the article title should be renamed to ASEAN. Most of the oppose votes were challenged and countered and they didn't respond, but no one challenged the support votes and I saw no other reason not to move it to the proposed title. Southern Kaduna
Good day sir. I appreciate your work on improving the above page. However, I noticed you deleted a portion in the "Education" section even with the references I made which is in line with Wiki's recommendation and would like to know why it has to be so. Kambai Akau (talk) 23:42, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
- Kambai Akau You're aware that you have a WP:COI with the subject of the article and shouldn't have created it in the first place? —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 23:45, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
- Nnadigoodluck Well, I can say no more. However, I will always state in clear terms that I am not a paid editor. My contributions are passion driven, for the preservation and dissemination of knowledge. But, at the same time won't want to break established rules set by Wiki Foundation. Please, let this page survive. Sir.Kambai Akau (talk) 00:06, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
- Kambai Akau, I didn't say you're a paid editor nor did I accuse you of paid editing, I only stated that you have a conflict of interest with the article on Southern Kaduna. You should know the difference between paid editing and conflict of interest. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 00:11, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
- Nnadigoodluck Understood. What actually happened was that I limited my scope for the meantime being to that region of the world to make articles about the area in particular and with that, improving on information about the region would be necessary and I did what I could. Hence, the appearance of it seeming like a Conflict of Interest, even though with the best intentions, and happening to be a native of the area further betrays my defense... Thanks! anyway.Kambai Akau (talk) 00:28, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

WikiCup 2020 September newsletter
The fourth round of the competition has finished, with 865 points being required to qualify for the final round, nearly twice as many points as last year. It was a hotly competitive round with two contestants with 598 and 605 points being eliminated, and all but two of the contestants who reached the final round having achieved an FA during the round. The highest scorers were
- Bloom6132, with 1478 points gained mainly from 5 featured lists, 12 DYKs and 63 in the news items;
- HaEr48 with 1318 points gained mainly from 2 featured articles, 5 good articles and 8 DYKs;
- Lee Vilenski with 1201 points mainly gained from 2 featured articles and 10 good articles.
Between them, contestants achieved 14 featured articles, 14 featured lists, 2 featured pictures, 87 good articles, 90 DYK entries, 75 ITN entries, 95 featured article candidate reviews and 81 good article reviews. Congratulations to all who participated! It was a generally high-scoring and productive round and I think we can expect a highly competitive finish to the competition.
Remember that any content promoted after the end of round 4 but before the start of round 5 can be claimed in round 5. Remember too that you must claim your points within 10 days of "earning" them. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. It would be helpful if this list could be cleared of any items no longer relevant. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to keep down the review backlogs! Two more
Sorry to keep bothering you with these. If you tell me how you deal with them I’m happy to try them myself. Anyway my current candidates are Clare Intermediate Football Championship and The Sum Of All Men. Thanks. Mccapra (talk) 12:38, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- Mccapra, Done
- You're not really bothering me, I'm always happy assisting you. About dealing with them yourself, you'll need to acquire the page mover user rights for a start. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 12:48, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- ok thank you. I’ve just read the page on page mover rights and I have to go and lie down now. I have trouble assembling ikea chairs so maybe this one is not for me.... Mccapra (talk) 12:57, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

Requesting clarification in discussion
Hello. As you are the person who previously performed the technical request move on my behalf. I should bring to your attention an issue that has arisen. At the time of my request to change Rule 34 (Internet meme) to the 'common noun' form, the only other discussion displayed on the article's Talk page was this one which was closed before I had arrived. I opened a new discussion to correct the article title to the 'common noun' form, but otherwise not change it. That discussion had sat for over 2 weeks with only one reply, suggesting that I go to the RM Project page and request a Technical move, for which you kindly responded, performing the move that I could not myself perform.
In the wake of that move, 2 others contested the completed move, for which it was reverted when it became contested. I wish it to be made clear that not until after +2 weeks wait and the completed move, did anyone show up to contest the move, which having been reverted has now become hotly debated. It was mentioned that there was a previous consensus that the article title should use the 'proper noun' form existed, but that is not displayed on the talk page (I have requested that discussion be linked to). User:Anthony Appleyard performed the revert on behalf of User:Tutelary with the following reason:
Disagree with undiscussed WP:BOLD move, "Internet" is a proper noun referring to the global interconnected network and should be capitalized. Author should take to WP:RM.
I am being accused of having performed the move myself in contradiction to a consensus that is not shown, a move which I could not perform myself because of the disambiguation page already occupying the 'common noun' form. I would appreciate it if you now appear in the discussion if only to set records straight; you do not have to provide any vote if you do not feel like doing so. I merely want any misconceptions straightened out. Thank you very much for your assistance.
Christopher, Sheridan, OR (talk) 18:01, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- DeNoel Hello and welcome to my talk page, I wasn't aware that the move was reverted until you brought it to my attention. I've now gone through the histories and reviewed everything that happened, I will have this to say, the only reason why they're accusing you of performing the move, is because you requested for it when you felt it'll be uncontroversial and now, it has turned out to be controversial. Per the moving and reverting of the action, I'll enjoin you to let the WP:RM ongoing in the talk to run its course (at least after 7 days), because consensus matters more than any other thing in this collaborative project. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 18:28, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your reply and understanding. Depending on how the discussion goes, I would be inclined to suggest that it be left open for up to 90 days at least. No, I had no idea the can of worms that I was opening, as the referenced consensus was not linked to (waiting on that reply). I feel that when said reference is linked to, it can be read over again, and given the appropriate weight (if it's very old, then perhaps it's overdue to be questioned). It was the way that User:Tutelary had imposed on the discussion and requested the revert using a questionable 'reason' given, that I'm objecting to. As you can see from the discussion, this started out as a simple question, and I hope that once things are sorted out, the discussion will proceed in a more sensible manner towards a result of some kind, which will then be visible to all. Regarding the recent moves of Vodafone Idea and Vi
Hi, it seems that you recently conducted round-robin page moves of the two aforementioned pages, there is currently no basis upon which this move could be justified as the company Vodafone Idea still uses the same name but has simply changed its branding. I just wanted to check with you to see if these moves have been reverted. Prolix 💬 09:34, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
- Prolix you guessed right. It was reverted at the instance as it was performed in an error. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 09:36, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
- Nnadigoodluck, thank you for the speedy confirmation. Have a good day! Prolix 💬 09:40, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
