Looking at this edit;

Did you actually look at the RM? It's pretty clearly a SNOW close. NickCT (talk) 17:02, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

NickCT, WP:RM/TR is not the right place to request for closing of RM discussions. After the RM has been closed, the closer should move the page and if they couldn't do it due to one reason or the other, they can now request the help of a sysop or page mover at RM/TR. Great. Where is the right place to request closure? NickCT (talk) 17:36, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
NickCT, request for closure at WP:AN/RFC. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 17:44, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Aminu Ado Bayero

Attempting to include citations but their is an editorial conflict. Let me know when you're through. Zerzuran — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zerzuran (talkcontribs) 00:25, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Zerzuran, okay, also add citations to Ado Bayero, I see that you also changed some contents there too. Overall, nice work on the articles and do keep it going. —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 00:32, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It's just structural changes mainly, to give the article a skeletal feel. I'd look for authoritative citations for Ado Bayero too. Cheers. Zerzuran — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zerzuran (talkcontribs) 00:39, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Quick question

Is there a search engine on Wikipedia to find out how many redirects an article has? OcelotCreeper (talk) 17:38, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OcelotCreeper, it's very simple, open the article of your choice and go to the toolbox and click on "What links here". When it opens, look for the page with "(redirect page)" beside it. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 17:46, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I decided to use Jesus as an example and I already found 50 I might nominate tomorrow. OcelotCreeper (talk) 18:19, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion on Nomination for Deletion of Seun Osigbesan page

Please I don't understand the citations you said you need,I added citations and somehow it seems to have been removed. I'll add them back again. And please could you point out the parts of the article that needs improvement. You could also help me in improving and making edits as well as other editors. I also noticed that you removed the early Life section on Seun Osigbesan page that I added, why is that the details of that segment are correct and I added citations. VictorHB (talk) 20:04, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

VictorHB, please, read WP:RS and WP:GNG thoroughly before creating an article on Wikipedia in the future. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 20:07, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
With all due respect sir, I'm a new editor in Wikipedia. Please can you list out the things you feel are wrong with this article? So I can make necessary edits where necessary. VictorHB (talk) 20:10, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
VictorHB, please and please, read the above note I dropped for you. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 20:15, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Seeking Your Assistance in editing these Articles

Hello Nnadi, pleased to meet you, Good work on creating the Covid 19 story in Nigeria and nice to know you are also a Nigerian. I am an editor still learning the rules and guidelines of Wikipedia. I have had success in creating some pages but I am currently having it difficult creating the two above. I would appreciate if you can help edit the articles or point me in the right direction as to what to correct, as I do not seem to understand what is wrong with them. Thank you. Kojomo (talk) 13:20, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kojomo, both of the articles are written in a promotional tone and not in a neutral point of view. They both look like press releases and should belong in LinkedIn in its current state. Until when it's edited and written to conform with Wikipedia guidelines, it can never belong in an encyclopedia. —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 13:37, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nnadigoodluck Thank you for your swift response. I am struggling to do this, can you help edit it so I may learn inorder to avoid making mistakes like this in my future edits. I will appreciate it or better still point certain phrases or words that should be erased. Thank you Kojomo (talk) 13:43, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Kojomo, Please, read this, this and this, should be helpful. Best, —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 20:42, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCup 2020 May newsletter

The second round of the 2020 WikiCup has now finished. It was a high-scoring round and contestants needed 75 points to advance to round 3. There were some very impressive efforts in round 2, with the top ten contestants all scoring more than 500 points. A large number of the points came from the 12 featured articles and the 186 good articles achieved in total by contestants, and the 355 good article reviews they performed; the GAN backlog drive and the stay-at-home imperative during the COVID-19 pandemic may have been partially responsible for these impressive figures.

Our top scorers in round 2 were:

  • New York (state) Epicgenius, with 2333 points from one featured article, forty-five good articles, fourteen DYKs and plenty of bonus points
  • England Gog the Mild, with 1784 points from three featured articles, eight good articles, a substantial number of featured article and good article reviews and lots of bonus points
  • Botswana The Rambling Man, with 1262 points from two featured articles, eight good articles and a hundred good article reviews
  • Somerset Harrias, with 1141 points from two featured articles, three featured lists, ten good articles, nine DYKs and a substantial number of featured article and good article reviews
  • England Lee Vilenski with 869 points, Gondor Hog Farm with 801, Venezuela Kingsif with 719, Cascadia (independence movement) SounderBruce with 710, United States Dunkleosteus77 with 608 and Mexico MX with 515.

The rules for featured article reviews have been adjusted; reviews may cover three aspects of the article, content, images and sources, and contestants may receive points for each of these three types of review. Please also remember the requirement to mention the WikiCup when undertaking an FAR for which you intend to claim points. Remember also that DYKs cannot be claimed until they have appeared on the main page. As we enter the third round, any content promoted after the end of round 2 but before the start of round 3 can be claimed now, and anything you forgot to claim in round 2 cannot! Remember too, that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met.

If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anything else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Invite to WikiGap Nigeria contest 2020

Hello Nnadigoodluck

Kudos on all the great works you do here and hope you are keeping safe. I want to invite you to participate in the 2 week long WikiGap Online Wikipedia contest that started 29 April to 13 May.

This is a contest primarily conceived to bridge the gender gap on Wikipedia by creating articles of Nigerian women due to the gender bias that exists; I am contacting you primarily also because when we organize contest like this, we realized that we have many of inexperienced Wikipedians participating while the experienced wikipedians like you are left out or disenfranchised.

We have amazing prices available to be won and the contest is organized as a step beyond our physical training meetup here in Nigeria in partnership with the Swedish Embassy in Nigeria, African Women in the Media, Wiki Women in Red, Wiki in Africa and Wikimedia Sverige

Kindly check the project landing page for more details here
