License tagging for Image:Frazz.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Frazz.gif. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:13, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Images
[edit]Hello. It is very important that you fully follow the instructions when uploading images. You need the accurate source (not just the site where you got the file from, but where the image came from in the first place). You also need to tag your images. Finally, you need a fair use rationale. All of this is explained on th eimage upload page.
I have done Image:Frazz.gif as an example. Could you please go through all of the images you have uploaded and add the required information. Thanks. The JPStalk to me 20:24, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Ioan2.jpg

If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Image Tagging Image:Jennifermorrison-dr.cameron.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Jennifermorrison-dr.cameron.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 13:58, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Jennifermorrison-dr.cameron.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Jennifermorrison-dr.cameron.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 13:58, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Substantial image copyright problems
[edit]You have been blocked for 24 hours. You have already been warned about the information you need to include when uploading images but continue blatantly violating copyright by not including this information. When the block expires, please refrain from uploading any more images until you have added the necessary source, copyright holder, accurate license, and detailed fair-use rationale for all the images you have already uploaded. --Yamla 14:00, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Vandalism
[edit]Please refrain from adding nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. --Yamla 13:50, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
I noticed you've uploaded Image:Biography.jpg and I thought I should turn your attention to a common error.
Please give uploaded images meaningful names. Otherwise they are difficult to track and it is hard to tell what the image is about without actually looking at it. I suggest you rename your image with an intuitive name that describes the image itself. Thanks, and happy editing! --Schzmo 02:34, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Frazz.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Frazz.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 01:01, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Nikoru! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 50 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Heather Menzies - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Kelda Holmes - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The file File:Frazz1.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Orphaned image with no foreseeable encyclopedic use.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Pkbwcgs (talk) 11:28, 17 April 2019 (UTC)
