Day (surname)
[edit]What on earth are you doing on Day (surname). You keep making unsourced changes and at one time even ruined the article with external links in the plain text. Try reading Help:Editing. What you are doing now is not okay. The Banner talk 18:41, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Nikoliday You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. SpheralCobra (talk) 19:08, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
Do you really think that edit warring and pov-pushing of unsourced info works? Let me inform you that editing Wikipedia is a privilege, not a right. Go on with this behaviour and you will soon find yourself without editing rights. The Banner talk 21:22, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
- i listed a few more possible reasons for this surname...even cited sources...that wasn't good enough for you. the name is an English name, English spelling. everyone is allowed to add to the page, not just you. Surnames come from many different places not just the places you have listed. I would like to know why you have a problem with it's more probable origins i suggested? you do know that England was influenced and populated by Danes and then Normans right? And that it was Normans that brought surnames to England? Nikoliday (talk) 22:06, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
- When you gave sources, you just dumped some external links in the article. And with your "additions" you also removed possible explanations, like here. The Banner talk 11:41, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- So you intend to keep damaging the article? On your head then. The Banner talk 13:10, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- No, keep your article the way you want it, Nonsense- in "your" article you list Irish and Welsh "possibilities" for the English surname. On your own head. Nikoliday (talk) 13:29, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- It is not my article, never was, never will be. I just respond to unsourced edits, unexplained removals and edits messing up the article. Quality and sourcing is important. If you need help, go to the talk page and ask for help. If you want something removed, go to the talk page and propose a removal with an explanation. The Banner talk 20:06, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
